What a great night!!! My girlfriend wanted to do this for her birthday this weekend and it was a blast! I was a little skeptical at first because of the price but the amount of free beer and good times is totally worth it. Like I said the breweries will give you free samples (some more so than others) and also give you the story of their brewery and maybe even gifts for a birthday person!! The bus driver (Darryl) was very friendly and knowledgeable of beer and the breweries. Our bus was all 12 of people we knew so I can't speak to how strangers will work out but you don't spend a lot of time on the bus so it should work out for the best!

As luck would have it, we were the only 2 people that happened to reserve that particular date and time. Instead of cancelling the tour and asking us to reschedule, Amy gave us private tour of the Indy Beer Mile. The weather wasn't cooperating but that didn't stop us. We got a lot of great information and insight as we walked around the city. This wasn't only a beer tour, this tour also provided a lot of historical information. We saw some beautiful neighborhoods and historic buildings. The 4 stops we made provided us with great food and ample beer samplings. We were never rushed, we were able to enjoy the beer, the food and Amy's company. She has a lot of beer knowledge and is a great story teller. When the tour was done, we felt like we got to know the city, the people and its beer a lot better. We highly recommend this tour whether you're a local or a visitor.

In addition, she provided a history of each of the establishments we visited. While we walked from one place to another, Amy fills you in on the neighborhood. Get some carbs in you before you start your adventures! Our bus driver (Chuck Taylor) was fantastic. He let us know the rules - what you can and can't do - bring beer from one brewery to another etc... He also provided us with cups and water Tip: Brink snacks on the bus! You will appreciate some pretzals or snack mix after your 3rd stop! We always got a heads up on time and distances. He helped us connect our music and made sure everyone was in good spirits at all time. At each stop we got samples of beers, and enough time to order a pint or fill a growler for later. Tip #2: Don't be afraid to split a pint with a friend - the breweries were happy to give us each a cup to split it! Otherwise you are drinking a lot between beers at the brewery and your beers on the bus! I would 100% recommend this especially if you have a group that all want to try some new brews!

Our tour started late but it wasn't a big deal--they had a little issue with another bus. The first bus we got on was kind of plain but we switched to "our" smaller bus and it was so much cooler! The inside had lights that changed colors along the top, the front and back of the bus had 4-seat tables on both sides with slots for your drinks. The breweries were a lot of fun--Metazoa even had a round of flip cup for the group. We will definitely be doing another tour with them in the future. *you can request a certain driver--I highly recommend Chuck Taylor!

After I retired in 2023, I decided to work here in the Education Department part-time (2-3 days a week.) I specialize in several exhibits. I've seen the evolution since 1998 when I came here with my son. Now, we visit with my teenage grandson! There's a foam pit to jump in, a 4-story treehouse with a 30-foot suspension bridge to explore, and SO much more. The website has all the info. You may love it so much you join them too. There's also a very successful Youth Volunteer program ages 10+.

There is so much to see and do at Conner Prairie. We arrived early for the 10:00 am opening. We started outside exploring the Lenape Camp, the William Conner House and Prairietown. We watched goats being milked and learned about beading. Not only were the kids captivated, but I was as well. The staff is wonderfully friendly, knowledgeable, engaging and helpful. We took a break for lunch before heading to the Treetop Outpost. The Treehouse is an area for kids to play and explore. The kids played for about 30 minutes while I rested on a bench. In the afternoon, when it was getting hot outside, we returned to enjoy the museum. The Food exhibit is interesting. We found a couple of hands-on exhibits which were fun and educational. The upstairs food immersion experience was a bit confusing. Upstairs, we enjoyed learning about the creation of the White River. The kids loved the Wellspring center where they could kick back and play in the foam pit. They spent an hour exploring the little nooks and seeing all the artifacts embedded in the walls. They played in the Spark Lab for a bit and appreciated a chance to sit and play. I haven't been to Conner Prairie in many years and I was impressed with all the new things to see and learn about. The kids were disappointed that the balloon was closed for maintenance. A balloon ride would have been the icing on the cake. That said, we still had a five star day and a great bonding experience. We spent a total of 5 hours and didn't see everything, but we were pooped. Pro tip: wear bug spray, sunglasses, sunscreen and comfy walking shoes. Bring bottled water. We brought a lunch, but you can buy sandwiches and drinks at reasonable prices at any of the three on-site cafes. Restrooms are far between, so plan your breaks when nearby. The trails are gravel and some of the prairie homes are not fully accessible. Designated stroller parking is available. I'm looking forward to going back in the fall to explore the trails and see the trees changing color.
