I went in 2 different times: saturday at 3pm and wednesday at 10am. Two completely different vibes. I tried the famous sandwich from the black pig, viral chocolate covered strawberries and bread ahead. Black pig - the best one sandwich: it was AMAZING!!! I was a bit scared to get this since i was by myself but let me tell you, it was not heavy as i expected it to be. Just delicious overall and would totally recommend. Chocolate strawberries: I love strawberries and chocolate but definitely think you can find cheaper alternatives anywhere in london. Bread Ahead: my new favorite pastry place. I pretty much got a donut from this place (not this location) everyday because the black currant cheesecake donut was that good. I got the tiramisu and crème brûlée donut which my brother liked and i wish i could've tasted them before they went bad but anyways, I would totally recommend the donuts from here! Their chocolate chips cookies are HUGE and delicious as well. This was probably one of my favorite markets!

Like most mini farmers markets, try to get there early as all the best food goes quickly to eager locals and their Channel shopping trollies. Even though there are only between 12 and 15 stalls, there's a nice choice of meat, fish and vegetables, all organic and all from local producers. I particularly like the green leaves stall for just-cut watercress, spinach and rocket. They taste so much better than organic packaged produce from the supermarket and have a much longer life span. There's a good fresh herb stall too and if you fancy growing your own pak choi, or chili plant you can find them here. I had my first turkey and cranberry sandwich of the year and it was so good, it left me wondering why we don't eat that ugly old bird all year round. It came from a local farm and the farmer and his daughter were serving together so it's great to know that I was contributing to a small business rather than a huge faceless corporation. The ready made food is expensive though, so don't be expecting to find any market bargains here. I remember when 'free-range', 'organic' and 'GM free' were the new foodie buzz words, now it's what I've come to expect and I think everyone should have the option of eating well so I think it's a real shame that markets like this also come with a very high price tag.

The lady was nice enough to get us a table even though they were fully booked. What was ridiculous was that we looked on the website which clearly stated you were doing bottomless brunch to find out that they don't even serve brunch which means food. We brushed it off and thought okay £25 for bottomless drinks that's okay we went there to find out that the website is wrong and there is no bottomless brunch. They suggested that we sit and have a drink which is £10-12 for 1 cocktail which is tiny! The security was also sooo rude they were looking down at us like we were trash! I feel that this a lot of false advertisement and they should sort out there website as it's super misleading! WING AND TINGS They were amazing! Super lovely staff, amazing food! Great beer! I will be going back again and again!

Market Row is very small & it consists primarily of food stalls, and it was very unappealing. Brixton Village is a little larger (although not nearly as large as the description had sounded), and it has lots of small restaurants plus a few tiny shops. We ate dinner at one of the restaurants and it was pretty bad (see my separate review).

Ah, the urge to make many a feast related pun is strong, but I'll resist and instead will tell you…read morethat I honestly LOVE the West Norwood Feast. The Feast is one of London's only people powered markets, meaning that it is run entirely by volunteers who genuinely care about their local area. This makes it an event with a lot of passion and bags of personality. Catch the Feast on the first Sunday of every month, just hop on the overground to either West Norwood or Tulse Hill rail station and spend the afternoon pootling up and down the high street. Retro, Artisans, Gardening and Food are the four central market Hubs (the clues in the name as to what you will find at them) and each is cleverly woven around a community of vibrant local businesses. The majority of the stallholders are also from the surrounding area, so there is a great community feel. If nothing tugs on your purse strings the Feast also offers free entertainment throughout the day - live music, face painting, theatre and you may even find yourself in a hula hoop-off with a small child (guilty as charged!). We usually start by getting a coffee for the husband from the vendor with the mobile coffee bar (the machine is in the back of his van), and then wander the markets and end at the Merchant for a cup of tea for me. As long as there is a rainbow biscuit on the way even our toddler is happy.

Lets explain how a Chelsea Farmers Market looks like... No - you will not find fresh vegetables…read moreand stalls there. Instead the market is formed by different businesses arranged next to each other in a square. If you need to know which restaurant I recommend, I always opt for the Spanish place - where you can eat a proper steak, half a chicken with fries or a big spanish sausage. On a very hot Sunday afternoon we ordered sangria to cool down. There are two other places I visit. The organic food shop, which has a very deep selection, especially if you look for a special marmalade. In a white wooden hut you will find a book shop which has a wide selection of manly art, design, architecture and fashion. Here and then I find an interesting book - there is nothing as good as flicking through newly printed books. This place is ideal to just love and live on a Sunday afternoon. If there is one place I recommend to visit in summer in Chelsea it is this one. I suggest you go there with a group of friends and just chill out. Also, I discovered lots of Greek and Spanish people hang out around there -hot.

It's something to do with the low, chalet-style buildings which house the shops, businesses and restaurants - they're just so un-flashy, un-Chelsea. So in the end I was brought here because someone recommended the alterations place to me I think it's called Leo's. It's run by an old Italian guy, the service is good and he is a big character. Expect to wait in a queue, listening to stories of his grandchildren. Upon exploration, the other shops in here are also great. I found a rare bound copy of The Book of Tea in the bookshop. I have been looking for one for years, randomly asking places. This is definitely the sign of a good bookshop. The organic / wholefoods shop is also good, as is the tobacconists and, although all I had was a takeaway sandwich from the restaurant, its was yummy. I like and miss Chelsea Farmer's Market, despite the severe lack of real farmers.
