AVOID STAYING HERE. Stayed at Manor on the Green in August…read more2022. Overall the stay was fine but I did not feel comfortable staying at Elizabeth's house. It very much felt that I was being monitored. Here are some grievances, not in any order: 1. Elizabeth entered the bedroom I was staying in, after I had left. She made a comment that I shouldn't leave a damp towel on wood. Yes, I understand I should not have done this. It would have been good to know before hand that Elizabeth would go into the room I paid for. 2. Went to an event for the evening, Elizabeth texts me to pay the remaining bill that evening. Yes, I understand she wants to get paid. Could it wait though? I would have also been happy to pay when I arrived. It was strange to be asked to pay at 11 PM when I came back to the house and ready to go to bed. 3. No visible outlets in the room with two twin beds. 4. On the website, it states there will be breakfast served. Upon arrival, I was notified there will be no breakfast and no coffee. I paid about $225 for a room and no offer of coffee. Just one bottled water. I chose to stay at a B&B for the sole reason of getting breakfast in the morning. What a rip off. 5. Was told upon arrival that I was to not bring any food or drinks into the bedroom. Elizabeth stated she would kick anyone out of her room with no refund if she found food in the room. Would've been great to know this before hand! Overall, it felt like I was staying at a house where I wasn't allowed to make any mistakes or touch anything. It felt high class and stuck up. Would much rather stay at the Colgate Inn for a higher price to be able to relax and not feel that I have to whisper or fear someone coming into the room I paid for and snooping around.

The hostess is very interesting, accommodating, plugged in into the town and vicinities, and a great cook. Both days our breakfast was amazing: homemade coffee cake, eggs and home potatoes, fantastic local yoghurt, local granola, cheeses, fruit and great conversation... My whole family was impressed. We will be back!

We were looking for a cozy well-situated place to spend a few nights while we explored the outdoors. After doing lots of research on-line we chose Wellnesste and we're glad we did. It is conveniently located near the Tug Hill Plateau. Excellent ski trails are nearby. We passed the closest trails to drive about 30-40 scenic minutes to the BREIA trails. The cabin we stayed in was built according to "Tiny House" principles. While small on the outside it had lots of defined spaces on the inside so we were able to spread out and do our own things in the evening. We were also able to cook some of our meals which came in handy. The cabin was clean and tidy. Wellnesste has a good location. It was nice to be between the ski trails to the north and the restaurants in Rome, NY to the south. We were able to take advantage of both. The host was very accommodating and helpful. All in all this was the winter vacation we needed: a great base of operations for outdoor activities and then a comfortable quiet place to relax and rest up afterwards.

We bought an "Adirondack Cabin 2-Night Stay for Up to Four in a Cabin with S'mores Kit, a Snack…read morePack and Area Guide" package for $300 ... and despite not meeting our expectations, we had a really nice time here. At the time we paid for our package in Aug 2013 and made reservations for Nov 9, the website stated "Shampoo Provided, Firewood Provided, Linens Provided for 4 beds, 8 towels provided, High Speed Wireless Internet, Pool Table." We only had 3 beds provided, and 4 towels - good thing the other family who were going to come canceled! The only internet provided was inside the Inn Keepers house - which turned out to be a blessing in disguise :) The pool table was under storage items in the garage. S'mores Kit, a Snack Pack were never offered to us. We loved the wide variety of great reading material as well as a nice mix of board games and foosball table in the Adirondack Lodge. The huge bathroom with spacious tile shower was great except for the lack of towel hooks for some odd reason. The adjacent 3-car garage was suppose to serve as a seasonal screened room offering additional seating, play area, pool table, air hockey, BBQ/ picnic space available to all guests to use and enjoy, but it wasn't. The futon bed we were told wld be in our cabin was being stored in the garage with the pool table. We never found the air mattress we were told wld be in the loft. The property was beautify despite the terrible weather, and the chickens were a nice surprise - especially when they let us hold them :) Sofie, the youngest inn-keeper, was super personable and interactive. Christophe was very welcoming & helpful. The additional $7 fee for wet firewood was disappointing to find on my bill at checkout. The late check in: 4 p.m. and early check out: 10 a.m. makes it feel like you're paying for a extra day, but the owners let us hang around after checkout :)

Homemade soups, awesome chili, fancy Chicago Dog on worlds best bun, incredible and HUGE chicken salad sandwich all served in quaint (but not too "foofy") dining room in old classic home. New Berlin looks like its fallen/falling on some hard times, hopefully this quality place survives! We will plan our next trip up to make it to a Friday Fish Fry, I'm sure it will be wonderful. One tip, hard to tell its a cafe when driving through town, so keep your eyes peeled!

I was greeted by a very pleasant young host, and she quickly found a waitress to take my order. I figured I would have some time while waiting, so I started to explore other areas of the building, besides the front hallway. There is a nice little cafe/dining area consisting of (I believe) two rooms, and there were also people dining outside on the front porch, where the tables have umbrellas. This old building has charm, and I think they have guest rooms upstairs. Just as I began poking around a room that I realized was an antique shop, the waitress came and found me, and my dinner was ready. Definitely a nice experience at this place. I took the food home, and I was satisfied. The very large piece of haddock was nicely breaded and tasty. The baked potato was also very good - I think it was baked with sea salt, resulting in a very flavorful skin. The cole slaw had pineapple in it. I thought this was weird, but when I finished it, I definitely wanted more. I think this meal cost $12 and change, and I felt that it was a good value. This is a solid spot for Friday fish fry, especially considering the surrounding area. I'll be back, not only because of the food, but the service and character.

North Woods was well worth the journey and the Karoke {wkends) was special! Staff friendly and extremely helpful--stayed at the inn Four(4) occasions! I booked a reservation in February 2023 for May2023--a group of six(6) in Three(3) KING ROOMS(@ $280.00 each). I did not hear or have any communication with THE PINES until I CALLED THEM five (5) days before Our arrival in May. I spoke with a fast-talking employee who informed me that the KITCHEN was closed until June One-also the kitchen at the pub bar located just outside the main lodge. I was also branded"rude" by her because of my concerns. I also tried to calm us BOTH down but, SHE was having none of it! Our conversation ended on a very sarcastic " have a nice day!" The whole resasoning of traveling to this resorts was the Fact that ONE DID NOT HAVE TO DRIVE while eating and having a few drinks--NO DUi ! I called leaving a message for the OWNER(S) which was not addressed.. I did not persue a Refund for the monies put down for the reservations--THIS REVIEW is worth the price of Saving even one person from booking a stay. It is a very sad commentary to experience this unprofessional business attitude towards new and/or old customers. What kind of RESORT lets you Book in Advance and then Closes their kichens for renovations?? And dont inform their outstanding reseservation until way past the cancellation period?? Good Luck if this place remains your choice--stay in touch with them especially if you re coming to them from a distance.
