We have been visiting this inn for over 5 years, it's our favorite in Gettysburg! If you're not sure if you would like an Inn experience, definitely start at the Brafferton! The hosts Brian and Joan are very accommodating, they make sure we have everything we want without being overwhelming! Brian makes the best breakfast of all the Inns in Gettysburg! Each morning Joan makes a different flavor muffin which is to die for! It's perfectly located downtown, so you are able to park your vehicle and walk everywhere. Plenty of shopping, restaurants, history all right around the corner. They have many different room/suite options, our favorite go to is the Getty's suite. It has 2 bedrooms, a full kitchen, living room, dining room table and an awesome spa bathroom! I hope you try this place you won't be disappointed!

Our family of four stayed at the Brafferton Inn Bed and Breakfast for a couple of nights on our visit to Gettysburg, PA. Built in 1786, the Brafferton Inn is the oldest deeded home in downtown Gettysburg. The Inn actually consists of the home itself, as well as other buildings to accommodate the multiple suites and bedrooms. We loved the Inn's central location, just steps away from Lincoln Square and close to many restaurants, museums, tours, and historical sights. The Inn is a family business, run by Joan, her son Brian, and his wife Amybeth. Joan checked us in and showed us to our rooms. She was helpful with information about the town. She was even able to recommend a local laundromat when I needed one. Brian was in charge of breakfast. The breakfasts were delicious. There was fruit and muffins with a choice of about five entrees. The only negative I would say is that the dining room is very small so you must sign up for a specific breakfast time. On our visit we only had one or two time choices. It can be limiting if you have an appointment for a tour or need to leave at a specific time. We stayed in the Cordori Suite, which was located on the first floor of the Carriage House. Best part about the suite? It came with a parking spot. The other rooms do not! The suite, with modern but homey decor, had plenty of room for our family: a bedroom with a king size bed, 2 full bathrooms (including a large jacuzzi tub & spa shower in one), a large sitting room with a queen size sofa bed, a Keurig coffee machine, and a mini fridge with cream for your coffee! I absolutely loved the large bathroom. What I did not like was the skylight in the bedroom, one of the only sources of light in the room that seemed to make the room very bright in the morning! You can look at the Inn's website for a detailed description of each room. As far as the rest of the house goes, there is only public access to the breakfast room and a living rooms/parlor where there is a Keurig coffee machine and often, fresh baked cookies. I don't think we will need to visit Gettysburg again (once was enough!) but I would highly recommend the Brafferton I

Just checked in to the Olde Master Bedroom. This is one of rhe original, not renovated rooms in the B&B

This is my first experience staying at a bed and breakfast and I was not disappointed. The staff is so kind and attentive and the breakfast was delicious! We stayed in the Olde Master Bedroom so we had a private bathroom across the hall from our room which really made me feel at home. The bedroom was original to the house, it really felt like you stepped back in time when you walked in. One of my favorite parts of the B&B was the outdoor seating area. It was too hot to sit outside long but next time we come back we will be sure to bring some wine to enjoy outside. The entire property was very welcoming and I hope to have a reason to come back and stay here again!

I was flying solo, so I stayed in the smallest (cheapest) room - Violet Room - and it was nice if not huge. Bed, bath, etc., were really nice. Room does have TV and wi-fi, but I was "on vacation" and did not use them that much. Mornings I went down, grabbed coffee, and sat out on the 2nd floor balcony reading and enjoying the view of the yard. Weather was great this visit, and this was hard to beat! The public spaces in the inn were plentiful on both 1st and 2nd floors, and I felt very comfortable. Gaslight's location is in the heart of Gettysburg, and everything but the battlefield itself is an easy walk. That included places to eat and get ice cream. I preferred this to being farther out, driving around, finding parking, etc. Hosts - Mike and Jennifer - were great, friendly, answered all questions, and helped with anything I wanted. If you are looking for a 9-room B&B experience with other nice people, want to enjoy the heart of the town of Gettysburg, and do not need a mega-hotel, the Gaslight Inn should be high on your list.

A Review of the Brickhouse Inn, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania (in the Style of 1870)…read more During my recent sojourn with my wife to the historic town of Gettysburg, we had occasion to lodge at the esteemed Brickhouse Inn, a house of most commendable character. The establishment itself is of handsome construction, its brick walls bearing the quiet dignity of years well kept. The chambers are appointed with tasteful elegance, and though we have, in our travels, rested upon beds of somewhat greater softness, the comfort of the accommodations was by no means wanting. Yet it was at the breakfast table that the Inn's true excellence shone forth. The morning repast, prepared with notable skill by Mistress Patty and served by Hannah, was of such quality and abundance as to dispel any minor discomforts of the night. Their attentiveness and mastery of the kitchen rendered the meal a delight of the highest order, and I found myself most grateful for her gracious service. In sum, our stay proved exceedingly pleasant, and we departed with a sense of satisfaction and goodwill toward the proprietors. The Brickhouse Inn stands as a worthy refuge for the traveler, offering beauty, hospitality, and a breakfast most splendid indeed

Then finally in the morning I wanted to confirm they got any of the emails, and finally one came back. Communication isn't the greatest. Also, the parking is horrible. If each room has a spot. There should be a sign that it is that's room parking spot. There is no signage and if you get there in the dark your screwed to even know it the right parking lot. I had high hopes for this B&B but it definitely fell short. If you're looking for a "spooky" place this may be it. It all seemed a bit fake to me. I did appreciate the 2 fake fireplaces we had in our room. It hit under 40 over our stay at night, these were great. If you have neck/back problem-bring your own pillows or whatever you need. The pillows reminded me of the deflating hospital pillows. Also, there's a shareable hot tub and we didn't know about it. Maybe because it was off season, things weren't running smoothly? Not sure.

Everything was checked out online via Yelp, which was a nice confidence boost. I didn't want to make a mistake and end up with a nightmare stay. Next, the parking and the front desk entrance are at the rear of the building. It has a fascinating history. Throughout the hotel, there are historical paintings of Gettysburg. The restaurant that was part of the inn no longer serves breakfast, so we had to drive out for a bite. However, we planned to visit the battleground early in the morning, so this was no big issue. Also, please ignore folks who repeat what they've heard about ghosts at the Federal Pointe Inn. Besides, historians often write these people off as less reliable, and their accounts are open to individual interpretation. Like the game, you see on TV where folks sit in a circle, and a person would whisper something in the ear of another person, who would whisper it to the next and so forth, and it virtually had no resemblance to the original. Well, that sums up ghost stories. So, don't allow ghost stories to deter you from staying at the Federal Pointe Inn.
