The inventory is not what I would call extensive, but they have a more-than-adequate selection in a wide variety of categories. There should be something for everyone here. They also carry a nice selection of children's products and a small, but fun, selection of puzzles and games. Parking is not an issue here, there is plenty of street parking right in front of the store and nearby.

We ended up purchasing 3 books, with one dated back to the 1850s for a great price. I love the history of this bookstore and its purpose. A good little facelift could do it wonders! They do have a fairly extensive selection for the footprint of the store, but I have noticed that unless it's a major mainstream author, then they don't tend to stock the full series, usually just the first one or two books. It also can feel a little cramped around the guest services desk when a line builds; I wish some of those tables weren't so close in that area since either creates a bit of a bottleneck if the store is busy that day.

There's a cafe that sells Starbucks products (but they don't take Starbucks gift cards). The children's section is actually quite large and extensive. I was amazed by the large layout and selection while browsing. The display areas are engaging and have you stopping to look every few feet. I found books for myself, as well as a Father's Day gift for my husband thanks to a specific display they had with Father's Day ideas. I loved the vinyl section, the horror selection, and the large graphic novel area. They also had some unique art books on display that I had not seen anywhere else. At one point I was looking for a specific title and the employee was able to help me find it. When checking out I learned they had been here for 13 years and the first shop is located in Manchester, Vermont. I was given a 10% off coupon and told about their online shop. They brought much of the same charm from Manchester to Saratoga, sticking true to the Northshire style with nooks and crannies, metal stairs, and the dedicated children's section on the upper level. The store was actually much bigger than I expected; the exterior was deceptive in a good way. My only complaint is that the romance section was surprisingly small; I feel like BookTok has really helped that genre take off so seeing just two shelves of romance was disappointing. But the sci-fi/fantasy section is great, and with an entire level dedicated to children's books I can see it being a hit for families too. They also have discounted books labeled with the "Great Price" sticker which was nice to stumble upon; everyone loves a good deal!
