Its a huge facility and its filled with any & every piece of equipment you could ask for - they even have equipment for the type of progressive training professional athletes practice now days for speed, agility, and a more balanced strength training using items such as battle ropes. The best part is they are open 24hrs everyday so operating hours will never conflict w/your schedule while training at Arena Fitness. John and Rosie are the best faces for the YMCA Litehouse. Their personalities are so warm & welcoming. As a traveling medical professional, I have been to dozens of Y's throughout the country and there is no better YMCA than Sandpoint's Litehouse. Also, so appreciated are the sauna and steam rooms which hardly any other Y has. The Litehouse is Uber clean and the pool is amazing. I can't recommend this YMCA highly enough. The aerobics machines are also not well maintained, for example 1 of 3 EFX elliptical trainers has been out of service for weeks. The swimming pool,is marginally available for lap swimming, every weekday afternoon 2.5 hours are for swim team training. Other times the pool is closed due to lack of life guards or when available there aren't enough lanes for lap swimming available. Management seems more interested in gaining new members rather than maintains the facility and the equipment.

The big windows are great with lots of sunshine. Now the bad news its overpriced and getting more expensive. It is not well equipped enough, Rubber floor is coming up in the free weight area. Walls that were patched more than a year ago still have not been painted. The dumbells are falling apart. In the winter the thermostat is set at 65F or lower. Your required to sign a lengthy contract (yearly) and when it rolls around even though your automatic payments are up to date suddenly your key fob does not work and most of the time there is nobody around to facilitate a new contract so your stuck. It looks to me like the owners (in Montana I was told) just take the money and do not re-invest much into their gym. As for me I'm finding a better gym. Christian

I'm 6'3" and benching is nearly impossible unless you want to put your feet up on the bench or don't want to use any leg drive. Across the board it just feels like Hammer Strength equipment was built for short kings/queens. If you don't care about that then go to Fuel. Awesome people, down lighting is sick, and really clean.

The machines were all Hammer Strength or Life Fitness, which are both great brands. The thing that impressed me the most: they had three Olympic lifting stations, complete with squat racks and platforms and Rogue plates. The cardio machines were in a separate area, contained to themselves. If I were a local, this would definitely be my gym, without question.
