The owners ARE very unprofessional and dismissive. Communication is horrendous and any questions or concerns (i.e. money, cancelled workshops, etc.) are met with defensiveness, excuses and use of "free" merchandise rather than real solutions. Beware they do not offer refunds, but you will get a "credit" for what THEY feel they owe you. It's extremely disappointing that a business that has been around for 21 years is ran so badly and doesn't have a better ethics. I'm sure they have a huge following, but this was my 1st experience with Planet Dance, and I will be dancing my happy ass elsewhere to get a more positive and honest experience.

I had been an out-of-town member a while back, since I live 500 miles away. I loved the idea that there was at least one all-male club left where, on one floor and in one common area, I could take a shower, use the steam room and the sauna, and take a swim, without needing a swimsuit. Meanwhile, the facilities have been somewhat renovated, altho they are still a bit clunky. Sadly, swimsuits are now required, although the club is still all-male. If there is no more communal nudity (there were, of course, fewer men present due to COVID, but they all seemed VERY nervous about being naked), why not make the place coed? It also is much more expensive than LA Fitness, for example, with not as many amenities available, so what's the point? So, if you live in Cincinnati, like to spend extra money (admittedly, gym wear is laundered, and each man has his own locker), I guess that this is good. Otherwise, try a chain gym.

I guess "Anytime Fitness" sort of started this trend, but this new wave of lifting gyms definitely refined their concept. Everything about dropping in to RTS was super easy. I sent a quick email to the owner telling them what I wanted to do, and I soon received a link with a waiver and payment instructions. After signing and paying the reasonable drop-in fee, I was sent a code that was good for 24 hours. I actually initially (accidentally) asked for the wrong date, and I called the same morning to get it changed. The owner was super prompt, and changed my date to that day within 10 minutes. When I got to the gym, the codes all worked and I was working out in no time. All in all, I was very happy with the process, it was super easy and and owner provides great customer service. The gym itself is great. They have pretty much everything you need for powerlifting and oly lifting. Their barbell selection is particularly good. There's also a lot of equipment, so even though there were five other athletes working out when I was, I never had to wait for anything. The bathroom was a bit small and was out of TP when I was there, but it's a common bathroom for the whole building, so I don't really blame the gym for this. There's a bus from Downtown Cincy that drops off right in front.

I've trained with all of the JBM partners through summer boot camps, and can attest to their fitness knowledge & ability to get more out of you than you ever thought possible. In my early 60s I was losing my strength, flexibility and mobility as well has beginning to show a finding of osteopenia on my bone density test. I have a very strong family history of osteoporosis and I did not want to continue down that road. After strength and resistance training for just a few years with Melissa, my bone density became normal and continues to be normal at age 66. I feel stronger than I have ever been and I am able to get down on the floor to play with my granddaughter without difficulty. As part of my normal sessions, we worked on "pre-habbing" my right hip and as a result, my recovery from hip replacement surgery was well ahead of the curve. The teachers that have led me (Mike, Julie, Kathy) are not only very knowledgeable and passionate about Pilates, but they are very caring and considerate in providing a very personalized experience every time. I primarily train with Mike, whose patience, persistence and attention to detail brought me back to life after suffering an injury at the hands of a yoga instructor at a different studio in Cincinnati two years ago. I trust the instruction, advice and physical adjustments of each of these teachers at BodyMind Balance. I call them teachers and not instructors because I believe there is a grave difference: An instructor can go through the motions and dictate information to a class; but a teacher reaches his/her students through understanding and respect.
