I love how relax this Docklands neighborhood is, I was told that it was practically nothing here back in the days, although the area is not particularly bustling on the weekends, it is an ideal place to visit to escape London's craziness. Since we decided to hang a little bit more in the area after taking in the Emirates Line, the Oiler Bar suited what we were looking for, a place to chill while enjoying a glass of the local beer, and the water park as the backdrop. It is a barge docked and transformed into an open air bar that serves wide variety of local beers and some selections of wines. It was truly relaxing experience especially on a nice sunny day. This place is highly recommended, I will definitely visit again!

The staff could be a little friendlier, it would benefit from some craft beers and the place needs a bit of TLC. It's a stunning building with some really wonderful features. The room at the back, which the toilets are off, has a really gorgeous glass ceiling, and there's some lovely stained glass around. This is one of the main West Ham United supporters pubs so definitely one to stay away from on match day (unless you're a West Ham supporter!). With West Ham moving to the Olympic Stadium next season, it will be interesting to see what happens to The Boleyn. It is offering membership which includes transport to the new stadium so perhaps it'll still be a football pub but I hope it means it will be given some attention so that is a good local for us folk nearby. They have started doing a monthly quiz and they also have a karaoke night every so often, so it seems they are trying to make it a pub for more than just football fans. I hope within the next year, this will be a great place to go out with friends. I'd also love it to start doing some good food too. Perhaps we'll have to watch this space.

This is more reminiscent of a New York or Miami style property but muted nicely outside by the glass so it blends in with the existing skyline. We tried a few different choices before we landed on the wings, one of the few things we could still get, and they were very good. A nice serving of 16 wings in a light bbq sauce. We asked for a side of dressing but apparently salad dressing is part of what you can't get after about 10pm ish. Anyway, after a long day of tennis at the 02, it was nice to get something to eat without having to venture out again. If in the area for a visit to the 02 again, I would stay here again and visit the bar. The location was great as it sits right on the DLR and although a bit outside the city, it was a quick tube ride to London Bridge and substantially less expensive.
