"The Boat Crooks" Wish i would have read reviews before going to them , lied about parts they never ordered to begin with, lied about estimate, they ended up ripping me off, they got me good because i left a deposit and would lose my deposit if decided not to get work done ! DISHONEST PEOPLE! I will never take my boat to them nor wish what they did to me upon anyone. read more

Glad to have found them after they moved from Fremont. I always took my Glastron in for service and now that my newer boat is ready for service will be driving the extra just to make sure they take care of me. Very good shop, service, technical skill is tops, and most important, I trust them with my life, because when your on the water, you can't just pull over to the side of the road. I was sorry to see them move, they are a rare find!! read more

RUN FROM HERE! My Letter to ERIC VILLEGAS Eric Lets sum it all up. 1. You kept my boat in the sun without a boat cover even though you had it around a year. Boat upholstery is heavily dated and unrepairable. 2. You did not hook up the starter properly and I almost drifted in Alcatraz Island and you never responded to my phone call for help. You put the cable on top of the supplied nut and stripped it. 3. You snapped my trailer light wires. 4. You dragged my outdrive brackets on the asphalt. 5. You never fixed a small leak in the power steering line. 6. You never connected the trim wires and never responded to my request for help on that. 7. You took 50 gallons of my fuel without asking. 8. You ignored my request to sell me back my old motor. 9. You had to reconnect my speedometer tube upon my inspection. 10. You forgot to reinstall an interior compartment and only did so upon my inspection. AND - You did not even make an attempt to send warranty information to Michigan Marine for the extended warranty. UNREAL!!!!!! The list goes on! read more

The photos of this dump of a business are misleading, to say the least... went by there yesterday and it really is a dumpy place. Add to that, they're the same people as Mineko Marine in Tracy and Fremont. Not recommended unless you want to give your business to people who in my experience obviously don't care much for being honest and ethical. read more

New owners from Fremont "Mineko Marine". Had two boats in for Gelcoat repair. Horrible communication, worst work quality ever seen and had to take boat elsewhere to have done correctly. Doing repairwork and painting without the proper zoning, EPA requirements and high prices. Eric does not understand the meaning of what customer service means. Consumer affairs will have a field day with them. read more

It is so funny to see how Eric attempts to offset the negative reviews of the minimum - one star by posting raving reviews for himself of 5 stars. How stupid! If you look you will find that there is nothing in between. With all those 5 stars that he had given to himself how can Eric explain that the authorities shut down every one of his operations???? He started a new operation under the name of the original owner Ken that had excellent reputation! Eric is riding Ken's ticket. But Eric cannot full us. We all know that he acted in such an unlawful way that the authorities shut him down. DON'T trust this man, you will get burnt like everybody else that ever dealt with him. You have been warned!!! If Eric burns you like he had done with everybody that trusted him, it will be your fault and your choice to get burnt. Remember all the 5 stars reviews, were written by Eric himself. That is why so many think that the 5 stars Eric gave himself, is a joke. read more

I took my aluminum fishing boat w 25 HP outboard in for repair. Paid for carb rebuild and thermostat. Took it out for a test still not running properly. Returned it to them, got the run around for many weeks, supposedly they fixed it and took it for a test run. Well guess what, they lied. I will never go back to them again. Watch out. I should have checked the Yelp reviews before decided to go there and would have saved myself alot of time and frustration. read more

Stored our boat there for the winter awesome customer service very helpful and car about what u have to say. I went in to get my boat out of the water and the tires had gone flat from sitting. The older man behind the desk was very helpful and let me borrow a set of wheels for the day so i could take my boat to the water and get some new tires on my trailer after. Highly recommended storage facility read more

6-14-2016 RUN AWAY !! I hired them to pick up a patio boat in Loomis (2 hours towing a trailer ) and launch it into Willow Lake and deliver to my home dock.I was quoted $500 for the job ,They were to be there Monday 6/13 at 1 pm I called that morning and told them I would meet them there i called at 10:24 am to make sure they would be there and I was leaving soon. This is a list of calls I made to them while I waited in the driveway of the sellers home 1:34 they are on their way 1:43 on their way 2:51 must of had a problem but they are on their way.... 4:30 they arrived ,I took a picture so I would have a time stamp on it. the hand winch didnt work the seller and I had to help push the trailer under the boat and the seller acually had to use the boat trailer winch to pull boat onto trailer !!I am paying for this ?? needless to say the boat didnt make it to my house until next day and i had given them a $300 cash deposit I stopped in to pay the $200 balance and they asked for an additional $98 !!! for what ??...I refused to pay the additional amount as I wasnt told before hand. SHADY !! I have another boat ,guess whos no gonna service it ? read more

Everyone at the Boar Dock is very knowledgeable and helpful and best of all they are honest people. I refer all of my boating friends to go here for service as well as supplies. read more

You cannot beat the convenience of the store. Almost everything I need to do regular boat maintenance is located here: all of those babes boating supplies Cleaners wax and miscellaneous stuff we always need. Eric is a very good guy and there's also live bait and enough fishing tackle to get you on the water in a hurry. read more

OMG! we wish we read the review before taking our boat to this place! We dropped out boat off because it was taking on water in the transom area, they're diagnostic it as the transom seal was bad and charge us $1200 for labor to change the seal, we picked up the boat after 5 days, put in the water and it still leaks, we brought it back they kept it for another 5 days, we picked it up and put in the water, and it was taken on more water, so we took the boat to another shop, and found out they didn't do what they're charged us for, and that wasn't even the problem, we took the report and pictures to show the owner, he said his machine was not experience, so we should take it back for them to fix under warranty.... We would never recommend this place to anyone. We don't think this place deserve any stars. read more

They close to early. Most people don't get back into Disco till after 5:00. There bait is a bit high.

Took my boat in for a 'full service' (term used by Marty and Mike) only to find out $450 buys only an oil change, fuel filter, 8 spark plugs , rotor and cap. When I questioned the value, Mike said that 2 of the spark plugs were hard to get to. After spending $350 more to get the outdrive fluid and impeller changed, I took the boat home. When I took the boat out for a shake down cruise I discovered they had not repaired the power steering "squeal' and difficulty turning left I had specifically asked to be repaired. Mike did tell me they had tightened the power steering belt. In addition, the power steering fluid level was at the bottom of the dip stick indicating it needed fluid. Then I discovered the horn does not work. It is very disappointing that basic items such as checking fluid levels was not included in the 'full service' and that basic safety items such as a horn was not checked as part of this service. I will not be returning to these mechanics and if anyone asks I will discourage them from patronizing this establishment. I feel ripped off. read more

$450 for a "full service" that was just plugs, cap, rotor, fuel filter, and an oil change. When questioned on the value, I was told 'a couple of those plugs were really hard to get to". After the service, I did the shake down and found my horn did not work. I would think a full service includes checking the safety items work! That's what car mechanics and shops do! What a disappointment. read more

horrible customer service. I asked them to give me a quote for some work. It has been almost 3 months since requesting the quote. I have called them 4 times now. each time I have been told they will call me back today.. but they never do. read more

Where do I start... I've used them in the past and was very satisifed, so I was going to use their services again to do a minor repair on my boat. What I did not know is that they switched owners recently. I scheduled them to go where the boat was stored to perform a diagnostic on my motor because it would not run without the choked button depressed. They said they diagnosed the boat and that I needed a new carborator and that they could rebuild it for $400 in addition to the cost of diagnosing the boat. Come to find out they never went to the boat, more less diagnosed it! I won't go in to detail on how I know for a fact they never set foot near the boat, but needless to say they are very dishonest to say the least. They are threatening to file a mechanics lien now if I don't pay them for diagnosing the boat! Ridiculous! Look up their Yelp reviews for their Fremont shop before hiring these guys. I would give them a zero if Yelp allowed for it. read more

I have to give this place a bad review. I took my boat in for basic outdrive work in which the going price for the area is $750.00 with all the parts. ( I did research this with 3 other shops after the fact) they charged me $1100 for the same work. They also told me that I needed another $600.00 additional work. After checking the part that they wanted to replace I found that the highest price with shipping was $200.00 for the whole unit. The part only needed a seal which cost me $23.00 and 30 min labor. Their estimate was $425.00 for the part and $ 250 labor to install. These guys are just parts changers and they double the price for the part and 4 times the labor cost. They had a really bad attitude when I asked them why so much. They treated me like I was an ignorant fool not knowing I know about boats, but due to recent surgery, I was unable to do the heavy outdrive work by myself..BEWARE.... Unless you enjoy being deceived and overcharged, please don't go here.... Save your money. read more

When these guys were in Fremont, they were great, not so much here. They really are awful. I've lived here 3 years now, and have taken my boat over there 3 times for different things. Every time they have screwed something else up, or didn't do the job correctly that they were paid to do.They don't care what the job looks like when they return the boat to the customer. They've broke multiple other items while fixing other things, and haven't done anything close to a professional job. I will never go back there and you should avoid it too. What a ripoff business. read more

Do not do business with this company. The "mechanic" arrived 2 hours late to fix my 2 wave runners. He "fixed" one of them (still doesn't run properly). The other one is still sitting there. It doesn't run at all even though he said they were both fixed, and ready to go. We called the guy and informed him of this. He said he would be over the next morning. That was 10 days ago. Still waiting. Called him again and he said he would fix it, but it would be an additional $300. During our conversation, he lied about what he told me when he originally came to fix the wave runner. Stay away from this place. read more

I had my first experience at the Boat Dock parts store. I was in need for an impeller for my boat. I decided to stop by and buy one and to check the facility out since I live in the area. I have no experience with their mechanical facility. First, I found the store unsightly and messy but my first thought was that shouldn't matter. I talked with the employee and I provided him with the part number that I needed. He looked but said he didn't have the very common part that I needed. They tried to sell me an impeller that they stocked saying it will work but when I pulled out my old impeller from my pocket to compare, it didn't match. This is normally a $30 -$35 part. I buy them every two years. Their price was twice that. I went ahead and ordered the part because I needed it and thought prices must have gone up. When I got home I did an internet search for impellers which is what I should have done before. All the impellers were half the price that I was charged at the Boat Dock. I'm not talking a $5.00 difference but $40 difference. When the part came in I mentioned to the parts guy that I thought his price was really high and said I found them for $30 on the net. His response was "Well, you are always going to find parts cheaper on the internet". He had no interest in what I had to say. I paid his inflated price and vowed never to return. Avoid this parts department at all costs. read more

Wow what a mess ordered a 9.00 part. Was told it would be here in 2 days it's been 2 weeks still have not been called to pick it up. Inquired about parts arrival more than once was told they would call . Can't even provide a part that has been paid for in full . you would be a fool to let them even see a picture of your boat let alone touch it. read more

I see that I reviewed this piece of crap buisness four years ago and said mike and the company was great. Well!!!!! It has changed for the worst. I called over there today to see if they could look up my name and boat, so I can get some much needed service on my boat. I got the owner on the phone who is named Eric. He answered the phone angry and mumbling where I couldn't understand him. He said hold and he will look me up. Eric came back and said he has no record of me coming there. He was obnoxious and extremely rude. I asked him if he could speak clearly and he told me to basically fuck off and take my business elsewhere. He hung up on me. I called back and spoke with another guy and asked for the owner. He put on Eric the guy who was a total piece of work and hung up on me earlier. He said hello. I said I need to speak to the owner, he then hung up on me again. This piece of shit company needs to be put out of business. I did some research on this owner and he has a reputation for screwing over people. I can now see that after I had this horrific run in with the company. No one go there or give this guy any business. If you have to drive 100 miles extra, do it!!!!! read more

STOP.... I did what you're thinking about doing, ignoring a review that someone wrote to share a bad experience with this shop. Don't do what I did, I too got scammed by Eric! I expected honesty when I take my boats in for service and what I got were false assessments of things that didn't need to be replaced. This guy straight up lies to you when he's questioned regarding his ballooned pricing. Not to mention it's painful to get him to call you back! Trust me find another shop! read more

Promised that my non working engine would be diagnosed same day. Checked with them mid afternoon, NOT YET. Called at 4:45 PM. No answer. Don't know if they are any good but certainly have no clue as to caring for a new customer. read more

I simply pulled my boat out of this place...!!!! Multiple dates for return, everytime I called it was a new thing wrong ( so they say)...I approved work only to find it not done, the boat not tested or run after I went all the way out there to get it...constantly being told I would get a call only to get nothing at all...Now my engine is blown or at a minimum has blown head gasket that wasnt like that when I brought it...my boat just had the interior redone and I pointed that out when I dropped it off now to have dirt and grease all over it...The mechanics are good people and so is the office staff...I also had my price adjusted without approval....Only to be told....Oh we left that out....problem was it was in writing on the work order....Eric needs to be more focused on his customers and more organized...not just saying things to to CYA!!! I was told my batteries are no good...which they work fine...told my starter was no good....and I believe it was ok, although aging....so I approved a new starter to be told...I didnt approve it when they forgot to put it in...Not to mention attempting to give me the boat back full of dirt and grease, no testing of the engine they had just worked on was very unprofessional......Very sorry my boat ended up here, and you will be too! read more

Never again. Just a terrible experience. Mike seemed like a nice guy but was very disorganized. Each time I called he had to ask me which boat was mine, each time he said he would call me back and asked me my phone number every time ( I am not sure they have any kind of system for each order with all the customers data at their finger tips). Finally on around the 6th time i told him to look up my number, i was tired of him not having it. Just lots of excuses. They had my order for about 2 months with very little work being done. They could not get my boat started so, they replaced the fuel pump ( I do not think it needed replacing ). It still would't start so weeks later they came and took my carburator to re-build it. They finally got it going, so they said. I was going to take the family out and went to start the boat, it would start but the idle was set too low and would not run when put in gear. I drove over to their shop and caught them before they left for the day and asked them to come over and adjust the carburator. They did come over and messed with the carburator until it would stay running so I could put it into gear without the engine dying. They left and we heaeded out in the boat. The engine kept surging and then dropping back. This would not cure itself and stayed that way, the boat would not run right. Just a poor job all around. Boat will not run very well ( unusable ). I will not have these guys touch it again. I will now have to pay someone else to fix their mess. I was without a boat for about 2 months. There is a lot more problems behind this but, I do not want to make this too long. Very unhappy! read more
