Curry shrimp with peas and rice and seasoned cabbage. Single crab cake. The shrimp and rice was heavy in curry flavor but not very flavorful. Three shrimp was pump and tasty but I hate having to physically remove the tails to eat the rice dish. The main star of this dish is the crab cake. Oh my gawd. That's the reason for stopping there. I tried to eat it in little bites.

Crab cakes anyone? Yes, please! This review is ONLY ON THE CRAB CAKES! The Blu Claw showed up at the apartments on food truck Wednesday. Since hubby & I are Keto-ing, I wanted to make sure the crab cakes didn't have breading or fillers. I know, I know...crab cakes with no breading or filler you say? Well, luckily-- No on the breading. No on the fillers. And Not fried but BROILED! WHAAAT??? The lady said, "I'm a Maryland girl...I don't bother with fillers and stuff like that!" Ok...I'll take 2 please! The portions seemed small and pricey for 2 cakes as you can see from the pics, however, they were hot (temperature hot), fresh lump crab meat (probably market price) and the accompanying sauce was the perfect combination of yumminess! Hope the Blu Claw truck returns on another food truck Wednesday!

Mini sampler, opted for extra hush puppies as my side. 7 bucks.... not worth it.

Honestly, I feel like the Blu Claw deserves 3.5 out of 5 stars. The first time I had them I felt like it wasn't really worth it. But since since they've improved a bit so I feel like four stars is pretty good. I feel that if one were to spend more for one of their entrees, then it really is worth it. The first time I had them I got the mini sampler, and despite how good the crab cakes were, I felt it was not worth the amount I paid for them. For that one I wanted to add extra hush puppies and for 7 bucks I got 4 hush puppies and one itty bitty crab cake. Was not worth it and for me I would've gave them 2 stars because service was good and friendly. When they came to my work place again I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and gave it another go. This time I decided to get the trio of crab cakes with hush puppies as a side. Still pricey, but a better deal. And another time I got the crab ball sampler, which came with two crab balls, hush puppies and two sides of your choice. It was the most expensive of the three times, but I felt this one I got more bang for my buck. Obviously Blu Claw is pricey because of good quality lump crabmeat that they use in their crab cakes. I like that you do get a lot of meat in each cake so that you can really taste it, and the balance of spices and other ingredients in the crab cake is perfect. Service is very good; very friendly folks and the time it takes from ordering to receiving is typical when ordering from a good truck. I do like Blu Claw and will get them from time to time if I'm in the mood for some crab cakes and don't mind spending a bit to satisfy my cravings.

Pricey but worth every penny! The Blu Claw specializes in crab cakes and Caribbean food. This was my first visit and I was not disappointed. I ordered the crab ball sampler, which came with two mini crab balls, two sides, and two hush puppies. The mini crab balls were UNBELIEVABLE. Another reviewer said there was no filler and I was skeptical, but, sure enough, there was absolutely no breading or filler in there just lump crab meat. The crab balls are broiled, which is how they stay together. I highly recommend asking for an extra sauce and grabbing a spoon to eat them with. The cabbage was DEVINE and had so much flavor without being over powering. The crab soup was also a great addition to my lunch with this cold weather. To me the only real negatives is the cup of soup was very, very small and the Mac and cheese left a lot to be desired. I've included a picture with a soda bottle for size comparison. Overall, a great lunch spot with really high quality ingredients and obviously homemade food.

Best crab cakes I've had in Jax!! Broiled, not fried and full of crab meat (very little filler). Also, their remoulade sauce served on the side was very tasty! I'll be back next time I see them!!!

I would probably try this place again if it were for the crab cakes. I went for the curry shrimp and although the shrimp was fresh, the whole meal lacked a lot of flavor. Definitely not good Caribbean in my book.

The 3 Crab Balls and side of cabbage were very tasty. However, the price seems a bit high for the portion. I would definitely try them again.

Wow Best crab cake I've had outside of Maryland! The crab cake platter with the spicy cabbage and peas/rice was phenomenal! Miss Tonie knows how to make them - back claw and I didn't taste any filler just crab meat, the way they're supposed to be. Don't pass this up if you see the truck. Can't wait till she's back at my office for lunch!

Hungry, I checked out Jax Truckies to see what was around me. I saw that the The Blu Claw was just up the street from me so I hopped in my car and drove. I wasn't sure what I should get so I poured over their menu a bit. Then I walked up to the window and ordered the Crab Ball Sampler with Cabbage and Mac N Cheese and Jerk Wings. I really wanted the Curry Shrimp but they were out of it at the time. The lady at the register must've been brand new because she wasn't sure how to ring up my order. It was fine with me because I was in no hurry to get back to work. Another lady helped her out and all was good. I got my food pretty fast and drove back to work as the scent of the food filled my car on that hot day. I sat down at my desk and checked out my food. The crab balls were kinda small but they were full of flavor and as promised in their advertising, entirely made of crab with no filler. The Mac N Cheese and Cabbage were just kinda "meh". The Jerk Wings were pretty good with the special sauce they provided. If I order from them again, I want the Curry Shrimp.

I have seen this truck on Facebook. They have a stall at the pecan park flea market. when I first saw that there was a new truck out and being so close I had to go see. I later found out they had a stall. So today I was in town and they were out in the truck with it's new wrap and all. At the Landing today I had to try them. I ordered the crab cakes since that is their specialty. Now we have been to Maryland many times and I have eaten my weight in crab cakes. These are pretty close to me. Slap packed full of crab meat I will say. There were also a little under seasoned for me. I did like the dipping sauce and it had some taste of the traditional seasoning of Maryland. Old Bay is the main ingredient in Maryland crab cakes and to me they need to add some more. Other then that their menu looked good and I will be back again.

We were craving authentic Mexican food and so glad we gave this place a try! It's tucked behind the 76 gas station on Blanding Blvd and has an outdoor area for dining. Super cute area with colorful decorations in the dining area! They even have a hand wash station to clean your hands too! Parking wasn't an issue when we went around 11am on a Sunday. The ladies working there were super sweet, happy, and made sure we were taken care of! We had the following: Birria tacos: 9/10 - I've had plenty of Birria tacos and these were one of the best ones I've had! I don't like soggy Birria tacos, where they don't grill the tortilla for a crispier texture. They did it just right here and the tacos came out fresh, hot, crispy, with a lime and good amount of consume (dipping sauce) on the side. As soon as I bit into one, it was game over! The consume was packed full of flavors and you can taste the heartiness of the broth and fresh herbs and the meat was so juicy!!! The lime added a fresh, acidic element to the tacos and my husband and I enjoyed them every much! I'm still dreaming about them till this day! Husband ordered a lengua (tongue) taco, al pastor (pork), and carne asada (steak) taco. He was especially excited for the lengua as a lot of places don't serve them (the ones that we have tried so far). Lengua taco: 10/10 - He devoured that taco in like two minutes! The taco was filled with lengua and generous on the veggies (cilantro, onions) and lime. Now I don't typically eat lengua tacos as the texture throws me off, but I had a bite and these were amazing! The lengua was so tender and the flavor on them was chef's kiss! I would absolutely eat this taco again! Al pastor taco: 10/10 - His favorite taco and I could see why! The pork's flavor was wow! It was like an explosion of flavors in our months and it was also devoured in 2 minutes haha. They give you so much meat for your buck too! The veggies were packed on the taco as well! Definitely getting this taco again next time! Carne Asada taco: 9/10 - Husband loved this taco and the steak was juicy, flavorful, and grilled to perfection. They give you quite a bit of meat for your taco as well! You know it's good when you're biting it and juices fall out from the steak! I had a bite and it was rich, little fatty, and overall, pretty tasty. Would have rated it higher, but the other two tacos were just a smidge better than this one. Elote: 9.5/10 - I love love Mexican street corn on the cob and oh my goodness! I took a bite and went straight to heaven! It was smothered in mayo, cotija cheese, tajin, and came with a lime. Even with all these flavors going on, you can still taste the grilled corn. The corn was slightly nutty with a hint of sweetness. They also sell it in a cup (Esquites) The prices were super reasonable (between $4-$5) for tacos. They also have other menu items like tortas, burritos, quesadillas, sopas, menudo, etc.) They even have a Birria pizza! We were a little bummed they ran out of aqua frescos though, but it's okay! Next time for sure! If you're in the area, I highly recommend checking out this place! You will not be disappointed!! They also do specials so make sure to ask them for the special of the day too.

The flavors were nice and everything was prepared well. However, and this may be just my opinion but, if you're going to call your food truck "The Fried Egg" perhaps eggs should be a part of the make up of most of you menu items. Given the current menu options I think a better name for this truck would be "The Fried Egg is a $1 add-on option." I mentioned to the young lady taking my order that it surprised me that, given the name of the truck, I would have to pay an up charge for an egg. She relayed my sentiments to the cook, who may have been the manager or owner. Nevertheless, I ordered the Classic Smash Burger and did ask for the fried egg add-on. The food was prepared really quickly and the burger looked perfect. However, the young lady informed me that unfortunately they only had 4 eggs left and that they all fell and broke on the floor before my burger was ready. So she handed me a $1 bill as a refund. Obviously disappointed (and skeptical of the story) I accepted the refund and went on my way. The short of it is that while I was eggstremly disappointed by the lack of eggs, the burger was quite good and the fries were wonderful.
