We just moved to Bozeman and needed new blinds for our kitchen, master bedroom and master bath. We set up and appointment and Marc came to our home with several sample books. He spent time helping us choose the best options for each of the three rooms. Marc even went back to the shop to bring over two more books of sample blinds from which to choose. Marc's service was terrific! When it came time for the installation, Steven the installer, arrived and efficiently installed our blinds. I asked him to make a few adjustments and he did so with pleasure. Marc came back out to our home, as I still felt a couple of tweaks were needed. I'm a perfectionist and Marc happily came out and made the adjustments. Marc listened, guided and made suggestions based on each of the rooms and the coverage that was needed for privacy. I ordered 6 mini blinds back in May 2021and received them finally in October. I was told I would receive them two weeks (on average) after my order, but my first order was lost. They came out and measured again with the same time expectancy, but no delivery. Many calls, emails and weeks later I was told their vendor was at a snail's pace providing product. Since it was taking so long, I was offered my deposit back, and if the blinds did indeed come in, they would be given to me at no charge, but I would have to install them myself. I agreed. Finally, in mid October, the blinds were delivered to me. One had a bad tilt mechanism and when I went to register the blinds with the vendor, I was told, and saw, the FedEx tracking information that my blinds had been shipped on June 1, and received by the Blind Guy on June 9th. I emailed The Blind Guy asking about this, sending them the FedEx information, and have not received any reply. The vendor, Graber, sent a tilt replacement and said my warranty with The Blind Guy had expired as it began when the blinds were shipped. I believed The Blind Guy for months that it was the vendor at fault, but the proof was on paper from Graber showing an 8 day delivery time. I will never do any business with this company again. read more

We moved into a three year old 4800 square foot home about eighteen years ago. Since then we have had to avail ourselves of several window blind issues. The first time we needed our blinds serviced we picked the Blind Guy and hoped for the best. You know the feeling that you get the first time you have to pick someone for service... "I hope they get it right." Well, over the years, they've got it right the first time every time! When an issue arrives they have always responded quickly to both returning my call and initiating repair. I don't remember the Blind Guy not having the repair finished, correctly, the same day in all the years we've needed their services! We purchased several sets of blinds from Mike about three years ago. They have proven to be of high quality and Mike is such an efficient and congenial guy and a great businessman. We recently had a relative visit us and they did something to make our wood blinds "seize up" such that we were unable to free them. We called Mike, who answered quickly, immediately pulled up our records and worked us in the same day to fix the problem. You just don't find service like this any more. My wife and I received abysmal service from the Blind Guy in Bozeman, and in the end the quality of the product was poor and unsatisfactory. I should have been concerned initially after it took multiple voice mail messages before I got a call back. Nevertheless, we were eventually able to order our vertical blinds from Mike. Unfortunately, we were misled about the poor light blocking capability of the blinds that we purchased. Even though I called the day after the blinds were installed to say that we felt like we were in a fish bowl at night, it took a month for someone to get back to us, and that person was Troy, not Mike. Then, after we did order replacement blinds, it was almost three months until Troy and Mike finally came to install them. But the order was still not correct, because there were missing vanes in the blinds for one bedroom and the blinds in the dining room and another bedroom rotated the wrong way. Note that we had an extensive discussion in about the direction in which the blinds should rotate before they were ordered, and still the order was wrong. Mike said they would "fix" the problem. Then, after not hearing from anyone for three months, Troy called and wanted to come and install the replacement blinds with less than 2 hours' notice. I hurried home from work to meet him, and he replaced the missing vanes and changed the dining room vanes so that they opened in the right direction. However, he did nothing with the bedroom blinds that were rotating the wrong way. So, almost 8 months after I first called we finally had blinds that were mostly but not entirely what we wanted . However, the Hunter-Douglas blinds that were installed have rods that did not and still do not work properly. They continually hang up and bind when we try to open and close them. I don't know if this is an installation problem or a Hunter-Douglas problem, but of course, Troy blamed Hunter-Douglas. Even when I pointed out that the blinds do not slide smoothly, Troy said that he installed the best product that Hunter-Douglas had to offer for operating our blinds. The process was ridiculously long, with poor advice on which product would be suitable for our needs, a low quality product, much time wasted on repeated phone calls that were not returned, and generally slow and incompetent service. And after the replacement blinds were installed, Troy had the guts to send us another invoice for the cost of the replacement blinds. It was not until we received this invoice that we had a clear idea of how much they would be charging. We heard such language as, "We'll replace the blinds at our cost," or "Don't worry about the money now." Given the poor quality of service and the unsatisfactory quality of the product, we think we should have received more consideration on the cost of the replacement blinds. Overall, we found Mike and Troy so frustrating to deal with that we decided to pay our bill and be done with them, as we did not want to have a protracted argument in which they would be unresponsive. Thus, they wore us down. I almost never write on-line reviews, but I am doing so in this case so potential customers can be warned not to start down a similar frustrating path with incompetent service before it is too late and they end up getting worn down, too. read more
