There are a lot of Irish pubs around here, and we were told the best pint of Guinness was here. Unfortunately I don't think Blasket will take the crown. However, it is still a good pour, the proper way and the foam top. The pub vibes are great, and run with care. I also ordered an Irish coffee, but it wasn't to my taste. I think the locals enjoy this place, whether it's grabbing a drink or getting their food options, but I don't think I'll be back. read more

Not the most popular bars around, but also means this place isn't packed to the brim after office hours. Great drinks with happy hour every weekend. Also quick quick quick service. You can also reserve the floor above for anything. You see a sign out up that they are hosting something from XYZ company. Not often though. Otherwise, it's generally pretty open otherwise so good coming in with a group. Both floors have a bar and dedicated bartender. They also know their drinks. Great service and the Full Irish Breakfast was on point. Great to see they had Kilkenny cream ale. The bartender poured the perfect pint of Guinness. Service is a bit slow (Sunday afternoon) and I probably should've gotten a beer over an aperol spritz (got watery fast), but I did enjoy my Blasket burger, which was cooked as requested, and fries. I tried one sweet chili wing and it wasn't bad, but I think I would've preferred buffalo sauce in this case, as I wasn't the biggest fan of the sauce. This charming Irish bar has excellent service and surprisingly - excellent food! We arrived to watch an NFL game and began with draft beers, though they have great cocktails and non alcoholic options. For appetizers we started with the potato and leek soup which is served in a very generous portion along with Irish soda bread and Kerry gold butter. The soup is phenomenal, made fresh in house. We then tried their gin & tonic, made with Elderflower tonic and Irish gin. Highly recommend! For entrees we ordered the grilled chicken Caesar salad which is 10/10; fresh romaine, perfectly dressed, and thin and juicy well-seasoned chicken breast. I ordered the fish & chips which comes with a generous portion of chips, Cole slaw, tartar sauce, ketchup, and lightly battered and tender white fish that has a great flavor. Lastly we ordered the Shepherd's Pie which comes with a delicious salad and is an Irish hug in a bowl - warm mashed potatoes, flavorful ground beef, and fresh vegetables. For dessert we each tried the lava cake served with vanilla ice cream which was the perfect way to end the meal. After the game we toured their private space upstairs that is available for parties. Awesome bar. It's a chill environment. It makes me feel like I was in the heart of Dublin. The owner is really cool, friendly and knowledgeable about bars and restaurant throughout the city. I never made it upstairs- I'll comeback another time for that. The restaurant and bathroom are immaculately clean. As for the food...it's delicious. I was surprise... I came here yesterday with my girlfriend for a quick drink so this review is only about the drinks that we both had and the service that was provided. I came here on a Thursday night and it was decently crowded. From the looks of it, the upstairs area had party/work event while the down stairs had some people who were having dinner or casually grabbing a few drinks. Love the dark ambiance of the place as it makes you feel quite intimate. We sat upstairs and had a lovely server who checked up on us constantly and got us everything we needed in a timely fashion. Thank god we didn't have to order food since that has been lifted, but some of the other bars still require this. This was an exception and thank goodness because I really didn't want to tack on another food item to the bill where I would not have finished. I loved how attentive she was even though it was quite busy so service 5/5. For drinks I had a Founders IPA and my girlfriend had a glass of wine. Her glass of wine was fine, but my beer was not very good. It tasted like it had been watered down since it was on draft and got me a little suspicious. Overall I loved the ambiance of the place (5/5) the service that was received (5/5). I did not expect my beer to taste watery so that was a disappointment hence the 4/5 review. Both times we had pleasant experience: bartender knowledge, food, atmosphere is great, yet not close to authentic Irish pubs, which you might anticipate here. Think of your local pub in Irish neighborhood or village -- The Blasket is closer to this type of pubs. The only downside is lack of space for a somewhat big crowd, it was not easy to sit 5 people last time, but the rest of experience is pleasant. Came here the other night. Really nice irish pub. Lots of seating and also seating upstairs for a private event. The craft draft selection is relatively good and better than your typical irish spot. The food looked pretty good from what I saw overall. Ended up getting some grilled cheese bites, which were decent but it was basically one grilled cheese sandwich cut into strips along with some thick tomato soup.
