Went two mornings in a row to get a smoothie I wanted and got there around 8:15 when they open at 8 and doors locked. Very frustrating.

It means so much to have found my new go-to coffee spot when I'm back in BR. The space itself is perfectly warm, clean, and welcoming. Everything is curated to make you feel like you belong. The coffee, tea, and food choices are perfect. I grabbed an espresso shot and cinnamon roll to stay and an iced matcha latte to go. The espresso was nicely dialed in, the notes were present and the barista served it wonderfully. The cinnamon roll was warmed up and freshly iced before being served. The matcha was so good, and a great choice to takeaway as a treat. The staff here really goes beyond to provide excellent service. This is my new go-to coffee spot in Baton Rouge. Thanks Coffee Joy!

Every table has outlets for devices, the space is open and well laid out with a mix of tables and comfortable couches that invite you to stay. The lighting is soft and warm, and gentle French music in the background creates a charming atmosphere. It's so comfortable it genuinely feels like a home away from home. The menu is thoughtfully curated, featuring seasonal items, genuinely fresh pastries, and excellent savory options. The equipment used to prepare both coffee and tea is top-of-the-line, and the quality shows in every cup. The olives pogača (pronounced pasha in Turkish), topped with sea salt, is truly unique--fluffy, rich, and deeply satisfying. The baklava is served warm and is remarkably soft and easy to enjoy, unlike the usually firm, layered texture you expect. There's also an impressive tea selection with real flavor, loose-leaf options, and specialty coffees, including French press with a choice of beans. Honestly, this place feels like a luxury for this town.

People made a big deal about the Bermuda Triangle back in the day and as time went on, we realized…read morethat it was kind of fake thing. But one thing that is more true than the Bermuda triangle is the Baton Rouge Bridge Crossing traffic back up. It's like as inevitable and predictable as anything can be and I am getting to enjoy it firsthand today. Always a traffic accident always a lane closure. Now usually I do the farm market Road north of Baton Rouge to avoid it but today I needed to go this way. The I-10/I-12/110 Triangle maybe? And I knew that my first stop would be French Truck location. I wanted coffee for the rest of my trip as I am traveling with my brewing equipment. I sampled their Festin, and their single source, Kenya, and Ethiopia and I decided to get a bag of the Ethiopia because it has that profound blueberry flavor profile that I like in small doses, thinking it was be a perfect coffee to share with my friends in Florida. And now on to lunch at Mestizo. A wonderful staff and ambiance. Great coffee shop music. I will bet that if I waited long enough, Tame Impala would come on the sound system. Lol.

Despite not being a big coffee enthusiast, I have come to appreciate all they've brought to the table as a serious coffee destination. As a venue, it's a beautiful spot with a good amount of outdoor and indoor seating. Their creative use of branding with lots of yellow, distinctive fonts, and merch are displayed throughout the store, becoming a central theme of their decor. Coupled with natural lighting, plenty of seating, good WiFi and a cool display of their brewing process, it's evident they've taken big steps to ensure their venue is one of the least ordinary establishments in the city. They honed their craft in New Orleans and have managed to do the same here. Their New Orleans iced coffee was dark and potent, while their Japanese slow drip aka Oji drip iced coffee was pleasantly delightful. The cafe au lait is classic and a nice rendition compared to the many places that do the same throughout the state. The macchiato, cappuccinos, and americanos also deserve their own mention. Like any quality coffee place, they sell all kinds of different coffee brews by the bag both online and in store. They also sell food as well ranging from breakfast items to salads and sandwiches. Avocado toast seems to be a big hit here, but they have a wide range of open-faced toasts that includes smoked salmon, pimento and prosciutto. I am definitely eyeing their croissant sandwich for future visit. Prices are standard foodflation but I think the coffee and the ambiance will always be the central focus. They have a good amount of people on staff and therefore the waits are never too long. Customer services on point and the bathrooms are very clean. Parking is available in the back and there is limited street parking as well. With locations in Memphis as well as the OG in New Orleans, they should be very proud that they've done well in Baton Rouge.

Based on the reviews and seeing that this place roasted their own coffee I was very excited to try it but it left much to be desired. Walked in to a very lively coffee shop, lots of students and they had a very nice sized space. Service was bleh, not very friendly just kind of like "what do you want attitude". Not sure if the college students employed are a little stressed out but you are in the service industry, give people a good experience! Ordered a pour over and an oatmeal cream pie. The pour over was good! Whoever is roasting did a great job highlighting the origin flavors of that coffee and it was brewed well thanks to the automated brewing system they had. The oatmeal cream pie was nothing special. A little hard and couldn't tell if it was old or just a recipe used that made it dense. The worst part for me was at the area you pick up drinks, it was messy and because of that mess there were a lot of little fruit fly looking things flying around. Not the best look for an establishment serving food and coffee. I really wanted to like this place. My coffee was great but a coffee shop is more than the cup. It's the whole experience and unfortunately, it was lacking. If I'm ever back in the area I'd give it a second try to see if it was a one off or not.

They even offer a private room. I love the education of coffee and coffee regions it has on the wall and educational decor. They have your classic latte, along with their own signature drinks.
