Nope. Nope, nope, nooooope. Man, this was disappointing in every sense of the word. A friend and I went to the restaurant to use our Groupon for "$15 Poutine for Two". From the minute we walked in the front door, I knew I had WAY oversold myself on the experience we were in for. Ambience: 1 star From the looks of it, this place doesn't know what it wants to be. Tiki bar? Seafood restaurant? Sports bar? All of those and then some, and none of it made a lick of sense. Layer on a blanket of noxious burnt fry oil smell and what certainly felt like no A/C at all and just...no. Food: 2 stars We ordered the Bacon Poutine and the Pulled Pork Poutine at the recommendation of the manager, who told us the poutine was "what we're known for". After tasting it, I feel really bad if that's true. Everything tasted frozen or prepackaged: canned meat, frozen fries, processed shredded mozzarella cheese, and powdered gravy mix - at least, that's what it tasted like. Since the menu described it as having "poutine sauce" and "cheddar cheese curds", I just felt lied to. Still, it was edible... Drinks: 2 stars For a place that made it a point to put "craft beer" on their sign, I expected more. Six (not so impressive) selections on tap and only a handful of bottles was a letdown. Then there was the strange display of Kahlúa pre-mixed White Russian bottles and Margarita mix. Again, i just kept thinking to myself...where am I??? Service: 2 stars When we sat down, the owner was behind the bar and greeted us. We ordered waters and mentioned we had a Groupon. He told us he didn't know anything about how that worked because "somebody else set it up." When we asked if we'd be able to use it, he seemed so confused that he couldn't even give us a straight answer. Finally, he just told us "well, the price for two poutine is $15 so it should be fine." Wait a second...should?! You're the owner, come'on! Even more aggravating, it meant the Groupon I purchased (supposedly a $23 value) really wasn't a discount at all. The only thing saving this from being a one star for service is that the man wasn't rude, just clueless. I had high hopes and they were all shattered in one, 20 minute visit. I won't be back to try the grilled cheese. "Toasted" down the road does it well enough, albeit in a much cleaner and more inviting atmosphere. read more

My burger and my coworkers burger was a thin hockey puck that tasted like charcoal unfortunately. I saw on menu a burger with pulled pork and sausage on top and thought I tired something new. As a second cook I noticed they didn't undercook the burger and keep proper temp to finish cooking later for customer instead they fully cooked it and it taste and looks like they left on grill on one side for way to long. For starters I had never been to the food truck by the same name... The sign out front said 'BEER, POUTINE and HOCKEY' That got this transplanted Canadian's attention especially since I've been dying for POUTINE!!! I really wanted to love this place. Maybe it's because they had only been open 2 weeks or because the had a flood I'm not sure but overall my experience was just meh... There were only 3 beers on tap. My $7+ regular poutine was a little soggy and definitely lacking a good serving of cheese curds. I've eaten more than my weight in Poutine over the years, I'm not a novice! Avoid this food truck! They operate a scam system with the credit card process. They did not inform me that credit card transactions have a increase in the total. The cashier told me it was the "government fee". This is a lie no other food truck has a credit card up charge. The cheese sandwich lacks in the fun of a grilled cheese. So bad. Mostly bread and no flavor in the bread. The bread needs to have butter, mayo, and grilled with a lot of cheese. This food truck is horrible. When I saw a grilled cheese food truck I was excited. Sadly this truck let me down. The portions were small for the price. It felt more like an appetizer than a meal. It also lacked in the cheese department (you have cheese in your name, you should be able to deliver lots of cheese). It was about $7 for a small sandwich with very little cheese. We grabbed a table and were tended to fairly quickly by the bartender. They were out of draught beer except for Miller Lite (blah), so we grabbed a few bottles of Blue Point while we waited for our meals. First off, the portions are huge. I was starving when I got there and could barely finish my plate; same with my fiance. The pulled pork poutine was good but I was disappointed that the pork tasted like it came out of a tub bought at the grocery store. The consistency and flavor was exactly the same, so I'd be really surprised if it was made in-house. There also wasn't a lot of cheese on it. That said, it still hit the spot. The lobster bisque poutine was much better. Neither dish compared to the "real deal" but I'd still go back and stuff my face. read more

The reason I have to be so hard on the BIG CHEESE is because my sandwich was SO SMALL. There are two things the BIG cheese should accomplish. Have lots of cheese, and be BIG. You failed at both. I ordered the mac n pork grilled cheese. It was TINY. Like, so small that when my friend brought over the $8.95 sandwich, and I could ONLY see texas toast bread. No pork, cheese, gooeyness, love, respect, nothin but bread. Iknow things are bigger in Texas, but can't the meat be from texas as well?! This sandwich should be piled high with the filing if you are going to charge 9 bucks for a grilled cheese! Sure if I was 10 years old or a parent I'd want a clean simple sandwich that isn't a mess.... but I'm a dude with a huge appetite that ate the sandwich then thought, well, guess I should get something to eat now. Don't get me wrong, it actually tasted pretty good, but between the super chopped(i'm not convinced it is made in house) and the basic mac n cheese, there is nothing I couldn't have made at home for about $1.50. I love the food truck industry, and along with another rater I to hate beating up on any food truck unless they fail miserably. I had heard of the Big Cheese, read about them online, and followed them on Facebook. They seem to have a loyal following but I must say I was disappointed. I don't expect anything for free or on the cheap from any food truck and eat from different trucks often so know what to expect in pricing, quality, and quantity. Big Cheese's basic prices are comparable with any other truck out there by the add on items are priced high and add up quickly. However that's where most comparison to other trucks end. I was expecting something more cheesy and larger in portion. They serve the sandwiches in the smaller of concession "boats" and rightly so when you see the size. Their web site and facebook page show a much different product than what we were served. I was not overly impressed with the food handling either and this from someone that has been in the food and health business many years. Great name and idea but didn't hit the spot for me and we won't be trying it again as too many food trucks out there to enjoy. read more

I went there for a 2nd visit hoping it would be better. The putin is average at best because the fries seem a bit soggy and I had to order it with extra cheese curds in order for there to be enough. I was most concerned with the climate control both times I went. The first time I went it was hot and really smoky. The smoke was from the fryers and stung my eyes which told me that they lack sufficient hood ventilation in the kitchen. The second time I went I noticed that the doors to the restaurant were open. It was 85 degrees outside and I knew it would be bad. It was really hot and uncomfortable inside and definitely detracted from the experience. It isn't even full blown summer yet and they are already having AC problems. Even the MC running the trivia contest was complaining to everyone about the heat. I don't know how they are going to make it in the summer heat if they don't address this soon. This is Florida, not Canada and simply opening the doors does not address the problem. read more

We had our first food trucks at my job Animal Services & SPCA today and the Big Cheese was there along with Wacko Taco and Soup to Nuts. I first tried the Big Cheese with 5 different cheeses and I had a flavor explosion in my mouth, it was fantastic. Our vet tried the nachos with pork from WackoTaco which were nice. My colleague had the Mac & Cheese side dish from theBig Cheese which she raved about! I went back out and had some too! OMG!!! It was also Devine. We can't wait for the next time!
