It doesn't appear to…read morebe for a charity, but prices are so cheap that I can't really see it as a place for people who want to make wads of folding money. The only other possibility I can think of is that the owners/workers are passionate about thrift in general, or maybe about recycling and cutting down waste, but I really don't know. Whatever their motives the result is an op shop that has items that are dirt cheap. I often find myself scurrying quickly away from the place in case they change their mind and charge me double on my items--that's right, a whole 80 cents, that's almost a $1! There is even an area outside and to the right of the entrance that has a sign "FREE" where items are free for people to take. No matter how many times you double check, they really mean it, that area is free. From the free zone I've wombled home wine glasses and shoe preservation boxes. Inside the store is three rooms: one for clothes, one for kitchenalia, and one for bric-a-brac and books. They've said they also have a furniture section but if there is one I couldn't work out how to get there but my guess is that it is next door to the main shop.

Everybody needs a local late night supermarket and the Marion IGA Foodland is a good one. The thing…read moreabout many smaller, late night supermarkets is that things can often be overpriced so if you run out of something late at night you end up paying a fortune for it. Not so here. The majority of their product is reasonably priced. You can grab a litre of milk for $1.25. Other positives about Marion Foodland IGA include the fact they have lots of staff in the store at any given time which means not too much waiting at checkouts. You know that annoying wait at late night supermarkets where only one person is on the checkout and there are ten people line up - not so here. Parking is always easy here and they have a good selection of deli products. Their bakery section is quite small but adequate and the fruit and veg section is pretty good too. If you have a late night emergency and live in the Marion area, I recommend this supermarket.

IGA has a very community-oriented marketing slant, but I still prefer to shop at smaller, more specialised outlets like butchers and small greengrocers. That said, this place is very convenient if you're in the area, the prices of most of the stuff is pretty competitive and the staff seem a bit friendlier than other supermarkets.

This is by far one of the cleanest and trendiest op shops in Adelaide. I love coming here as they carry a good line of trendy, stylish and corporate wear at reasonable prices. Some tops range from $3 to $10 for the newer ones. Jackets, skirts and dresses, arranged in colour codes are aplenty. Pair it with a chic hobo bag or gently used shoes for a complete look and you've stepped out looking fabulous with just under $30. As all op shops, this store will meet all of your family needs. Jeans, tees and shirts for dad. Perhaps Nanna might like a soft creamy flowered cardigan on a cool breezy night. Pick out a handsome shirt or a burst of pink skirt for your kid and let them explore the toy range as you meander through rows and rows of clothing. Book lovers will adore the book collections here, whilst home décor pioneers will find a suitable piece to bring home. Kaftans, Japanese robes and salwaar kameez (Indian traditional costumes) are parked under the retro section, which makes great costume pieces or summer wear. Take your pick. There are 10 stores across South Australia (including this one) and it's worth visiting their website as each store offers a different character and charisma to it. Note: They get bonus points for opening their doors on Sunday.

It's usually something really tragic from the 80's like high-waisted ripped-at -the-ends shorts or a big fluffy grandpa jumper (if Gilles St Market hasn't found every jumper in Adelaide yet). I've been op-shopping for a good 5 years now and this store is the most organised. Sorted by type of clothing and then colour-coordinated is my kind of OCD! They have bargains all the time, so if you're on a op-shopping journey down this way, definitely stop by. In my opinion, it's better to start op-shopping now before "old" clothing becomes late 2000's.. seriously I've started seeing Cotton On and Supre coming into ladies sections and slowly dying inside. Take what you can before it's too late!

Do they think you're shoplifting or something? The same was very tight-lipped and silent when I picked up my script and attempted conversation. I can only assume it's snobbery and I do not appreciate being at the lower end of a two-tier customer service status system. It's not all of them but enough to make shopping here an unpleasant experience.

When it came to filling the prescription, the service was friendly and prompt. We were told there would be a 10 minute wait but I really don't think we waited longer than 5 minutes. In addition to their normal dispensary they had a Compounding Pharmacy. This was a sterile area with a window open to public viewing where a trained pharmacist mixed lotions and potions to create tailor made medicines. Apparently they can make medications for people as well as animals! The Compounding Pharmacy is open Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm but you can leave your prescription at the main pharmacy desk during their extended hours of 7 days a week between 8.30am and 9pm (except Sunday mornings when they open at 9am) While we were waiting for my friend's prescription to be filled we actually had a play with their in store blood pressure monitor. Good fun and interesting but be careful how tightly you put the testing device around your arm because it gets tighter and tighter as it measures you're blood pressure. This chemist has a great range of gifts and cards if you're looking for a last minute present and everything else is closed. There's perfume, makeup, baby products, and the usual chemist fare on offer. They also offer other services like prescription delivery in the local area and a fast refill service if you're having a repeat filled. Just leave your script on file and ring ahead. See what I mean ... great chemist!

There is always a novelty gift available for any person and for any occasion, and prices are suitable for any income. With some items being as low as $10 for a decent gift.
