It was a dream of mine to live closer to Marion Shopping Centre one day so I can go there every week and when that day came, I did go a few times and then the novelty wore off. Perhaps it was the circling like a hawk trying to find a car park or the marathon from one end of the centre to the other on both floors. When I look at it now it's really just a fortified city of shops with it own atmosphere bubble! Yes it is huge and yes it has everything you may want but may not need and the prices are not cheap and there's not much competition amongst the shops at a Westfield. Whilst they try to contain a variety of shops they can't possibly posses an ark of every shop in the state. Correct me if I'm wrong but did you know when a shop vacates their spot they have to return it exactly back to the way it was when they moved in, apparently it's a condition upon signing the lease. I feel a bit sorry for the stores who put in so much money into designing their shop and when things don't work out, rip it all down..what if the new occupant wants the colour scheme or fittings? Anyway, it's not my problem. No, I am not a shopping centre shopper because I enjoy the experience much more 1st: not having to search high and low for a car park and certainly not when Westfield starts charging for parking - what a joke ! 2nd: I prefer to support local independant shops where possible and 3rd: go where the price is right. Target is building their new store in a local shopping centre at Pasadena, now this is progress some bright spark thought was a good idea. In fact, when I was a child I remember Woolworths - now re badged as Big W - was located on Port Road at Hindmarsh and there was a supermarket called Tom's down the road. Those were the days and they're seeing the light of day again!

Review Highlights - Westfield Marion

“There are so many great stores in Marion, and I personally love having Target, K-Mart and Big W all in the same place.”

I don't go into Cotton On all that regularly, wherever the store may be, because I find them…read moreslightly overwhelming. This Cotton On is no exception - I think it's actually more chaotic that others in the chain. This store is just a standard guys' and girls' clothing shop. No kids' wear or underwear here. Thank goodness, because it's crazy enough without. I dove in here desperately seeking shorts, as the ones I was wearing were hideous, according to both myself and my boyfriend, and I'd subsequently spilt chocolate all over them. The sales racks down the back of the store were overflowing with size 8s of all styles. I can't resist a $10 pair of shorts, so I kept looking until I found something closer to my normal size 12 (of which there were NONE to be seen.) Half an hour later I stagger out with nothing. Why don't these clothes fit? What's wrong with me?? So apparently, I'm a size 14 around the legs, but not the backside. How does that work? I seem pretty proportional - I'm big all over!! Yet the shorts gape like crazy at the back. Maybe you're just meant to wear them a lot tighter at the front? Ew. I now recall why I don't shop here. Nothing ever fits. This saddens me, because I like cheap clothing, and I like their casual styles. Sadly, it is not meant to be.

Cotton On in Glenelg is run by friendly and helpful staff. It's no where near the size of the…read moreRundle Mall & Marion Cotton On stores, but I still go in there for a browse and with no intention to spend a single cent, only to walk out with a new outfit. They have also recently added some Typo range into their store, which is great.
