This is basically one of the biggest shopping centres in South Australia, and I remember growing up with pretty much everybody telling me the same thing. In fact, it used to be my local shopping centre, especially since you can pretty much find anything and everything here. The problem was that they also used to have a pretty awesome bar scene as well, except that these bars have all now disappeared, which is a realy shame. It was a dream of mine to live closer to Marion Shopping Centre one day so I can go there every week and when that day came, I did go a few times and then the novelty wore off. Perhaps it was the circling like a hawk trying to find a car park or the marathon from one end of the centre to the other on both floors. When I look at it now it's really just a fortified city of shops with it own atmosphere bubble! Yes it is huge and yes it has everything you may want but may not need and the prices are not cheap and there's not much competition amongst the shops at a Westfield. Whilst they try to contain a variety of shops they can't possibly posses an ark of every shop in the state. Correct me if I'm wrong but did you know when a shop vacates their spot they have to return it exactly back to the way it was when they moved in, apparently it's a condition upon signing the lease. I feel a bit sorry for the stores who put in so much money into designing their shop and when things don't work out, rip it all down..what if the new occupant wants the colour scheme or fittings? Anyway, it's not my problem. No, I am not a shopping centre shopper because I enjoy the experience much more 1st: not having to search high and low for a car park and certainly not when Westfield starts charging for parking - what a joke ! 2nd: I prefer to support local independant shops where possible and 3rd: go where the price is right. Target is building their new store in a local shopping centre at Pasadena, now this is progress some bright spark thought was a good idea. In fact, when I was a child I remember Woolworths - now re badged as Big W - was located on Port Road at Hindmarsh and there was a supermarket called Tom's down the road. I absolutely love Westfield Marion, with everything it offers. Shopping, cinema, bowling, cute animals in pet stores. For someone like me, a student who does not get paid a lot, there is always shops such as Valley Girl and Temt where I can find some cheap, cute, clothes. Then when I am feeling a bit more rich, I'll venture to the nicer stores such as Myer and Forever New. There are so many great stores in Marion, and I personally love having Target, K-Mart and Big W all in the same place. Parking on a Saturday can be a bit of a challenge, but there is always a park eventually, even if you have to have a brief stroll. The food court is always very busy during lunch peak-hour, but there is still a number of decent places to get a meal from, whether you want your quick and easy KFC or healthy Sumo Salad. Sometimes you find that they have certain events on at Westfield, such as fashion parades which can be good for some people, and I have even randomly seen some Australian celebrities doing signings on occasion. read more

Every time I come here I am disappointed without fail. The parking is terrible, the food is terrible, the lighting is terrible, the toilets are terrible, and the place seems to have been designed to suck the life essence right out of you and give you a headache. I went there on Sunday to find some new sneakers which I saw in town on Friday night but didn't have time to grab when I saw them. Without fail, every shop I went to said that their city store had them, but they didn't. It seems crazy to me, but I'm not in retail. Marion needs a rethink. Some natural lighting, better food options and maybe a better communal space for activities. I'm not from the south, so I didn't hang out here when I was young, but I know people who have memories of this place. Both Marion and TTP in the north need a 21st century makeover. read more

I go to Marion when I know I cant find it it town. There is everything I need here, I often do my Christmas shopping here because its so much easier, its air conditioned and the parking is free! Thursday nights are a bit feral I'll admit, lots of 16 year old's who should probably be at home but are disobeying their parents and smoking in the car park. You guys are so so cool. I still come on Thursdays though because it's late night shopping and you can see a movie when you're done, great if you work til the late arvo. So in conclusion, it's got more than Rundle Mall, it's more like Tea Tree Plaza only it's closer to me because I live in the hills, why wouldn't you shop here really. read more

Marion throughout most of my highschool years: defs the place to be seen and to be. But now that I've grown up (if only a little) Marion leaves me craving for individuality, a nifty little cafe and some top boutiques. The big franchise stores are here and stock the same things all of their other stores have, making Marion your choice because its the closest rather than shopping for its range. I mainly head to Marion for quick get-in-get-out stops at the department stores and if it wasn't for the closeness of Myer and David Jones and that getting a park here is easier than town, I probably wouldn't visit Marion. The eateries here are slightly depressing and the lack of natural light in the food court seemingly saps at my life force (or maybe that's McDonalds). Parking is progressively becoming difficult as the centre is so often full at the peak times of shopping thus making the ease of Marion more redundant. Marion is a little snapshot of teenage coolness, but grown up me would rather be in town. read more

Marion Shopping Center is a marvellous shopping center that has a great range of shops. Everything from clothes to tech, entertainment to supermarkets, coffee shops to restaurants, is under one roof. It is a great complex and has a great collection of franchises. What is bad about this place though is the lack of parking most of the time, and now I hear they are going to actually start charging for it, which is not really that great. The fact that there are so many people here so often doesn't really bother me, it is just the parking that really causes the lack of the fifth star. You could very easily spend a few days at Marion to buy gifts and have a look around the department stores and shops. Marion is where you go to get something you can not get locally which makes it ideal for those who are addicted to shopping or need a special item. read more

I love to go to Westfield Marion not only its close to my house but I pretty much can find anything I want without having to go anywhere else. I heard it sandy good before but it looks like it's getting better, I can see there are more stores opening recently and the renovation is on going as more store expected to open. I only wish the store are open longer hour then 5:30pm on a regular days. I recently just had a baby, so finding a place to breastfeed my baby can be a pain but Westfield Marion offers fantastic baby rooms with comfy and privacy for my baby and I to do breastfeeding. The rooms are clean and comfortable seats, there are also a member of microwave in all the baby rooms. That's a bonus for me! read more

I'm so torn between two and three stars. See, part of me just wants to give it a mean old one. I hate Marion, and every time I find myself there I have to question why I've turned up in the first place. And yes, I know hate is a strong word, but heck I mean it! When I was about 13 Marion was heaven, everything from Sportsgirl to Jetty Surf, and JB Hi Fi could keep me entertained for hours. But these days there's just something about this place that zaps any desire I have of shopping here. I think maybe if it was an outside open air mall with the same range of shops I'd probably like it better (Oh wait... isn't that Rundle Mall). It just offers much of the same in a huge building I'd rather not be in. At least while Rundle Mall has most of the same shops, you're still only a short step away from a few unique cafes or boutiques. It's not for everyone, and I'm one of those people. 13 year old me gives it a whopping 5 stars (I was a very enthusiastic new-teen), but 22 year old me thinks it's a bit of a bummer. read more

2 stars is probably a little harsh but..........the place is ok and it has everything you could ever imagine but it always has WAY too many teenagers and young rough adults hanging around in certain area's. It is HUGE (well as far as Shopping Centres go in SA this one is huge) but nothing compared to what the other states have. And the more they develop it the more people go there and the more difficult it becomes to be able to go there. There's the new Marion Domain nearby as well as some other surrounding shops such as Bunnings and the Transport SA customer service centre. These also then take up more parks and trying to get to them on the outer is hard enough, trying to get into the actual shopping centre itself is near impossible. Unless you go really early when they just open you have no hope of getting a park. If you have to catch the bus there you can't shop anyway because then you have to carry it all. The food court is always so full and it takes ages to be served. Even getting down their large hallways with prams or trolleys is an achievement sometimes. Although it does have everything in the one place I would rather stick to more local stores than go here anymore. It is a great shopping complex and entertainment hub for teenagers and young adults but I worry about the trouble they can get into here with so many congregating in certain area's. read more

A perfectly fine Westfield shopping centre with everything you would probably need. It's not fancy, it's just standard. I went to this Westfield while staying with a friend who lived nearby so it was convenient for us. Not much else to say really. When we were last there, there were some renovations going on so I guess they'd have been done by now - it was a year ago. read more

I had a terrible experience here today, the lady made me feel horrible for something that was not my fault, now, I understand that with Corona shutting stores that times can be stressful but this is no excuse to treat your customers like I was treated today. Worst Westfield centre in the Country, Setup is horrible, Recently been to multiple Westfields interstate and Marion is a headache and a half, Parking is so bad as its spread out like a suburb and only has 2 levels of it, So your driving just to find one instead of just driving to get to the roof, Your walking for no reason as with others there multi storied to allow for minimal walking, Its filled with clothes shops and very little in terms of unique or cheapish shops of just random cool things, Obviously Marion needs to actually grow and also have more cap parks because its very busy, I think they need to go up and have better stores as imo lacks appeal. read more

Westfield at Marion has a great variety of mid-range stores, cinema and good food court. Being my new local, I'm here a lot but prior to coming here often, i definitely struggled to navigate - and still struggle now. I'll try to review stores individually but overall, compared to the city and some stores that have locations in Burnside, the range is often not the best in Adelaide. Parking ca be difficult but I seem to always get lucky with the undercover parking by Woolworths - my theory is that people come and go faster by this entrance compared with the other carparks that are closer to department stores and the cinema where people spend longer. read more

the mall is always clean. it is always busy which means it is very loud inside which can give people a headache easily. shopping inside is alright and most staff inside stores are kind. the parking is terrible as there is not enough space for the amount of cars that come daily. read more

Thanks Marion Council for the Parking ticket for $80 I received when I had to drop off someone injured and no parks available!! I was there for 10 minutes, $80 fine. It reminded me why I should always check to shop online. Cheaper products and no fines. My family and I visited this centre while holidaying in Adelaide a couple of years back. Marion is the only super-regional shopping centre (300+ stores & services) in Adelaide, and most of the major retailers that exist there (ie. Kmart, Big W, JB Hi-Fi) are quite generous in size, which is something you often don't get in larger centres, such as Parramatta in Sydney. We also visited that centre while on holiday several years ago and I noticed that their Kmart was only relatively small. The centre was also very clean and well-maintained, so much as I was later somewhat surprised to find out that it hadn't undergone any overhauls since 1997. Brisbane's Westfield Chermside, on the other hand, underwent a massive overhaul in 2000 and I reckon it's already aged moreso than Marion. I noticed last time I was there that a lot of the window tint on the centre court skylights had peeled off and the food court features these huge stainless steel chandeliers suspended to the ceiling and some of the light bulbs in those don't work, etc. Despite Marion's cleanliness, though, I've heard it's about to be redeveloped in the years ahead and will feature a market precinct, which is something Chermside's been a bit lacking in for a shopping centre of its size ever since the Mother Nature's farmers market closed down. read more
