We did try another local place never to return . Whether you call in person or ask for a delivery the service and quality of food is always delicious, freshly made and piping hot. I had Chicken noodle soup yesterday I do not normally have a starter but yesterday felt the need and we had some teeny tiny tasty spring rolls super tasty. Their Chicken Satay on skewers is a favourite of mine served with lovely fresh peppers and onions and a lovely spicy satay sauce and fried rice and plain chow mein not all eaten by I might add. And always delevered or served with complimentry prawn crackers.

Located by the end of the first exit from the Clyde Tunnel in Whiteinch, Sesame is my go-to source for Chinese food (particularly if I'm feeling lazy or hungover!) It's quite a small unassuming shop, but has plenty of tasty treats to offer. It offers all of the standard options you'd expect from a Chinese take-away and from my experience so far does them all really well. I'm a huge fan of their chicken noodle soup, so deliciously salty and comforting, and the dainty spring rolls, nice and crisp, which both get ordered almost every time. Other regularly ordered items include chicken chow mein or fried rice, orange chicken and shredded chilli beef, all very tasty. Their satay sauce is also particularly good and if you're ordering the full dish you have the choice of the meat on skewers or already in the sauce (my preference is on skewers). Between myself, family and friends I'd say we've been through at least half of the menu by now and haven't had a bad dish yet. You can also order via Just Eat and delivery is available, perfect if you're feeling uber lazy. So if you're out to the West of the West End then I'd recommend giving Sesame a try!

Still everywhere deserves a review, especially when it is the best local Chinese takeaway around here! Shanghai Delight serves up hundreds of Chinese takeaways every day and is always mobbed yet the food is always very good. I am not saying it is sit down city centre quality, but very few takeaways are. It is though very good at what it does do. Personal favourites are salt and chilli chips, salt and chilli chicken, chopped ribs in black bean sauce, beef Kung po, beef curry and chicken satay. None of these of course are advised as part of any healthy diet plan that I can imagine and are probably far from authentic. But they do taste very good. If you are up this way and fancy a Chinese feast then you should give this place a try.

So Shanghai is definitely a delight and does the best Chinese takeaway! If it wasn't packed with delicious calories I would eat it everyday! Owned by a husband and wife who have lived here for year originally born in Hong Kong, the husband the head in the kitchen you sometimes hear chatting in Cantonese to the rest of his crew he never crosses over. Occasionally the wife is on the desk she very friendly speaks English but only to the punters. A couple times a year they will close for a couple of weeks where there take a holiday a go back to HK to visit family. Ok so the best dishes are Salt and chili chips, Kung Po beef, salt and chili chicken. A wee beef curry never hurts anyone! To be honest of i was ordering Chinese and Shanghai was closed I'd just go without. All or nothing!

I woke up at 6.30am in Dublin with a killer hangover after a night of excess and burgers, and I…read moreknew I needed to get my diet back on track when I returned to Glasgow. I emailed The Yoga Kitchen with an email along the lines of "SAVE ME!" and waited for their reply. So what is The Yoga Kitchen? As Lucy B has explained, they do home cooked meals delivered to your door on a Monday night. For one person it's £50 (depending on where you live, you might have to pay a delivery fee, and you pay a £5 deposit for the tupperware containers) and that gets you around 3-4 days worth of meals. The food is vegan/vegetarian and they will also take into account any dietary requirements you have, like gluten free. The menu arrives by email on the Monday with all preparation instructions (everything I've had has been super basic, like reheating on the stove/microwave or in the oven for less than 15 minutes) and they will text you to let you know what time they'll be at your door. I've found their communication to be amazing, especially when I've asked questions about the food ("what is this magical bar of deliciousness?" - re: a protein bar they included in my first order!). But the real question is, what's the food like? I'm not a super-fussy eater but of course there are things I don't like. Black beans, chickpeas, squash ... just to name a few. Last week I had black bean and mushroom burgers for dinner on the first night and they were amazing - seriously meaty tasting and delicious. There goes my theory I didn't like black beans. Last night I had a veggie curry with chickpeas and squash, and again, I really loved it. The food lasts well in the fridge and I find it really handy having delicious, fresh, nutritious food on hand to eat when I'm a bit short on time (and motivation) to cook for myself. I've also found the meals can actually feed two people, so the cost isn't really too bad. I've tended to split the dishes up for lunches and dinner and found that each portion is really generous, and if you can be bothered adding in your own sides (like rice) then it'll go even further. I love that The Yoga Kitchen exists, and really appreciate how good it is to get delicious food delivered to my door. It's like takeaway, but guilt-free! Amazing.

The really unique service they provide is a weekly home meal delivery service. They deliver awesome, super healthy, and delicious food straight to your door. Normally, there's at least 5 or 6 different items, designed to provide around 3 - 4 days worth of healthy dinners. For example, this week I have received a spinach and asparagus soup, a fennell and coconut tart, a sweet potato and pepper dal, a cannelllini bean salad and a pea, mint, almond and chilli dip. Oh and a wee extra of sweet chilli jam, because they know I love it! The dishes are really inventive, and I would never ever bother going to this much effort if I was making things myself. They even make salad amazing, which in my opinion, is quite a feat. So i'm getting much more variety in my diet and eating more veg and salad that I normally would. They've been great about my dietary requirements too which are primarily vegan and wheat free, but there's other bits and bobs I can't eat, and they've never made a fuss about this. The ingredients are from ethically and organically sourced ingredients where possible, which I also really appreciate, as this is the sort of thing I consider when cooking for myself, and there hasn't been a single dish that I haven't enjoyed. They also catered for my 40th birthday - just a small family gathering, and everyone loved the food. Even if it was super healthy and not your usual birthday party fare! It went down really well with everyone. I'm so glad I discovered the Yoga Kitchen. Being able to rely on them to deliver food that's good for me has really freed me up from being in the kitchen so much, and I would highly recommend them.

For me, visiting a McDonald's is never exactly a proud moment. It usually means I'm a) drunk, b)…read morehungover or c) suffering a momentary lapse of self control and ruining my most recent attempts to be healthy. We've all been there, I'm sure. Thing is, McDonald's actually is good for those things and if that's what you're after then there's no shame in that. This branch is especially handy in that it's open 24 hours. It also has a drive-thru attached, although I've never used that facility so I can't properly comment on it. In spite of being a small, drive-thru branch they still do all of the major offers (so if you get one of those vouchers for a big mac and fries for £1.99 then go ahead, they'll accept it) and they do all the standard UK menu items, including the specials as they come and go. Food-wise it's the same as any other McDonald's. They can alter your items if you have any particular requirements and they almost always have a few Big Macs and McChicken Sandwiches ready to go as you walk in. If not, they're still pretty quick. Less popular items, such as specials, salads and deli sandwiches take a bit longer, but I'm pretty sure that's true everywhere. You can expect really long queues around dinner time and long-ish queues at lunch time over the weekends. I've only ever once failed to get a seat, though. Plus, the staff are quick enough and clearing the queue and if there's a wait for fries (or if you've ordered something less popular) they'll tell you to go take a seat and will bring it to you when it's ready. The toilets are kept pretty clean and the staff do a decent job of clearing the tables whenever they get chance. The WiFi is free too, so I could even imagine people working here during quieter hours. One very important thing though - don't get the coffee. It's the worst I've ever tasted. Just don't.
