I wouldn't normally write a review for The Beer Store but found the service at this location to be…read moreso dang good! I came here on Halloween looking for something to wet my whistle. I guess an employee saw my arms getting full and decided he'd help out. He came by with a bag and helped me unload the goods. I was looking for a survival pack from Muskoka Brewery but noticed they were all sold out. The same dude went into the back room and found me another survival pack with a summer ale instead of the winterweiss. He said they cannot display the summer stuff anymore because of the season change. Instead of letting this beer go to waste in the back, I took the case and grabbed a tally of the winterweiss and checked out. I sauntered out of there like a kid in a candy shop, happy as can be! The store is clean and organized and hosts some great employees.

Okay, so I know it's just a Beer Store, kind of like the many other ones that are all over Ontario…read more And while most of them wouldn't get a lot of stars from me, this particular one I've found to be even less useful than most. From a larger perspective, Beer stores in general have become less useful, unless you're into picking up larger cases of beer (which I'm usually not). For my liking, in that I often buy only a dozen or so at a time, and often like to pick up a bunch of mixed singles, there are better stores than this one. As it pertains to this particular store, I've found that they have less selection than most other stores, and I also tend to find them less organized (not only are their shelves of mixed singles often messy, the store itself has things all over the place). They also seem to be terminally low on stock of some of the singles. Last time I couldn't find any of the buck a beer options. Not sure if they carry them at this store, but hard to tell. The people that work here are nice, and tend to be as efficient as in most other stores. This is the closest beer store to my house, but I'll often go a little out of my way to go to a different store, or go to the LCBO, who have a far better selection of singles beers.

This place is really great…read more Location: On main Street Markham but at the other end from where everything is. Almost at the corner of Davis drive Parking: There is on street parking. Parking on side streets and across the street there's a lot. The inside: It's small inside but comfortable. There's also a pretty cute balcony out back. Is a bar and they have some pretty interesting drinks and flights that you can get. There's also a kitchen that they rent out that you most definitely need to try.

Located in downtown Newmarket, it's easily accessible by public transit (3-minute walk from a YRT Viva bus station) and there is parking right across the street. The interior is small and cozy. They also have a small patio at the back. The craft beer selection here is great. The "Fairweather" (contains Agua Fresca flower sour) has a pretty pinkish / light orange colour, and tastes a bit sour. "Bellwoods" (Mexican lager) has a bit of a honey aftertaste. "Halo" is good if you like pale ale. For those who want to try a bit of everything, they offer craft beer flight of 4 for $12 (good way to mix and match!). There is also Soju Bomb on the menu, for those who want something other than beer. Non-alcholic options include Shirley Temple, oat milk chai latte (cold), juices, and soft drinks. Water is free and self-serve at the back. Food-wise, they offer bar finger foods and snacks such as nachos, chips and dips (with guacamole), gyoza, spring rolls, and edamame. When we went, they had a special South Asian fusion menu (in collaboration with an Indian chef) that wasn't posted online. I believe this was limited time special menu. Selection included samosa chaat, tikki chaat, and masala which could come in a platter (with naan bread, biryani rice, and pico de gallo salad), poutine, or bowl. In both the regular and special South Asian menus, there were vegan and vegetarian options available. Great business overall - very inclusive (with gender-neutral washrooms), cozy and intimate atmosphere, and there are even board games and playing cards at the back (Codenames, UNO, regular deck of cards, etc.).
