On our next stop I dove into the peaches, and while washing one off I noticed there was a hole where the stem should be. I put my thumb in and broke the peach open and it was MOLDY inside all over the pit! I tossed it and grabbed the basket and every single one of them was like that. My husband watched as I broke each peach open one by one to find fuzzy mold inside. I was so bummed. I ate one apricot, but the rest were mushy and inedible, so they went in the trash as well. The cantaloupe was very good, but I spent $14 and only got one cantaloupe out of the deal. Wanted to stop on the way back and let them know, but we went a different way home. So I guess I'm telling them here. I won't stop here again. I should have taken pictures. It was gross.

Clean, organized, very well stocked farmstand with a wide variety of fresh fruits and veggies as…read morewell as canned gourmet items await you east of Clarendon on the US 287 at Monroe's Peach Ranch! There is one of these stands on each side of the 287, so they can get be accessed from either direction. Both stands are located at a highway crossover, so both have very easy access to both north and southbound US 287. We bought several varieties of things here today: cherry cider from Colorado, big red ripe local tomatoes, sweet dried pineapple chunks for snack, and a sack full of different preserves you can't get in the grocery store, like raspberry-rhubarb and sweet potato butter. Monroe's grows peaches watermelons and pears for the summer and apples in the fall. You can see the orchards along the 287. 5 fresh from the farm stars!

We usually stop at Sonic or Subway on the way back home, but I was intrigued by the bbq truck next door. So I decided to check it out. The owner was very friendly and helpful. I needed something fairly quick and not too messy, so I got the chopped brisket sandwich. I kind of expected it to be either dry, bland, or way oversmoked. It was none of these. It was really good! Good smoke flavor without being too strong. Good seasoning. Sorry, I was super hungry and didn't get a picture. But if you're passing through Memphis, I'd recommend giving this place a try!

However once you get inside it's anyone's guess as to what is available for both food and drink. Today on a Saturday morning a couple walked in and walked back out. I went in after them and asked the lady at the counter what happened. They wanted coffee and she didn't make any because she said she had only had one customer. No point in making a full pot. Interesting logic. The only food was what was in the glass case. Donuts, kolache (only one kind a giant pig in a blanket), and croissant sandwich with eggs, cheese and options for meat - as long as it's in the case. Not a flaky croissant because it's in plastic wrap. Good thing is that she heated up the sandwich and kolache. Not sure this place will be around long so if you like donuts it might be a good option for you. Not sure about the coffee. You take your chance on that.
