Being one of the largest LCBOs in Waterloo this location offers a wide variety of specialty products, particularly in the wine and beer category. More than anything I love trying different kinds of beer, and this location seems to offer many that I still have yet to try! So if you're ever looking for some kind of liquor product and you're not sure if the smaller locations will have it you can be pretty confident this one will. Another thing that is great about this location is the knowledgeable staff they have working there. Not only are they knowledgeable but they are very friend and are willing to help if you need it. We found out the card was redeemed in Toronto, yet my son was in Ottawa! I called and explained what happened and the person I spoke to said that someone would get back to me. I wasn't hopeful. But then, I got an email from Frank Perry at The Beer Store in Mississauga saying they would be reimbursing us for the gift card - and giving us an extra $10 for the trouble of having to call in!! Apparently, they have had some trouble with people hacking into their gift card system, so I guess we weren't the only one they heard from. I was so happy with the good customer service. Gift cards are like cash and they might have just told us we were out of luck, but to my surprise, they believed us and we got our money back! Thanks so much, Frank!

The tasting bar is open again so I was able to sample it but the location only had one case. So I scratched to find a back up. So I ended up trying a back up Australia chard but it was too tart for taste for novice drinkers so I asked for some recommendation and assistant manager Ben offered me a Sauvignon blanc that was quite nice for the wine drinker and the novice drinker. It's so nice to have someone so experienced to help me out. Can't wait to return in the spring for more wine.

They usually have a wine tasting going on which is great if you're looking to try something new. Their staff are always willing to help out with a pairing and don't make you feel ridiculous for asking. It's a beautiful store the way things are displayed and marketed. There is always a lot of staff on the floor. Oftentimes the website doesn't match up. I've been looking for a specific wine and they don't end up having it even though the website said they had three in stock though. Call and check first before going. The parking lot is a nightmare because of Shoppers Drug Mart, Starbucks and Whole Foods. I dread having to go here on weekends because of this and why I took away a star. There are often long lineups, but they typically call anothe staff member to open up another cash. I went to return a few bottles of champagne the other day and because I no longer had the receipt, I couldn't get my money back. I understand other stores, but since you can only get alcohol from the LCBO in Ontario, where do they think I got it from?! Either way, gift card just means I don't have to pay for my wine later!
