Great food, company, and atmosphere. A favorite spot when coming to Ocean City Md. It's a highlight spot for our vacation.

Minus one worse bartender ever Chip was his name. Ignored me when I was sitting at bar being patient. When my friend asked him to take my drink order he said maybe then gave them the finger. This is after spending 100s of dollars buying rounds for people and tipping well. If I were drunk I could see not serving me but I just got there and joined my friends. I will never go to that bar again or spend a penny there. We took our money and went to a place where they appreciate their customers. read more

Nice location . Pretty close to boardwalk .. very good interiors and an old style bar. They had few beers on tap . Tried land shark and it was good . There were few other drafts , and not many IPA options (atleast on tap) .. they probably had ipas on bottles . Service was a bit slow . Billing was slow too. I liked the atmosphere though. They had pool table etc . Nice place for a quick drink. 4/5 read more

Stopped here one night. Had a jager bomb with G Davis while stopping to use bathrooms on our way to get takeout pizza before heading back to James' condo. They had a white claw machine. Which we pumped about $5 into. Didn't get a can - just a koozy. Which we lost. Was a total dive bar right down from Cork Bar. Cork bar had a line outside so we went in here. Loud hard rock and metal music if you are into it - pool tables for non-COVID times. read more

A couple of these one star reviews came out of the same group. Seems like someone just wats to damage the business via yelp. I would speculate that if you come in with an attitude, you are likely to get one back. This is a good family run bar. Good drinks, good people and ice cold beer. Frankly, I have never met a bartender as rude as Chip from the Bearded Clam. Because of his attitude toward my group, I will never step foot in this bar again. When we arrived, we sat at the end of the bar and ordered our drinks. Mind you, the bar was completely empty. When one person in my group ordered a beer, she tried to make conversation with Chip about the can since she had never seen that specific beer in can-form before. He replied with "And your point is?" In an extremely condescending tone. It was rude, disrespectful, and downright degrading. A few minutes later, a couple arrived at the bar and he greeted them immediately and acted friendly towards them the entire time. I have no idea why our group was treated so poorly, as we did nothing to deserve his snarky attitude. Needless to say, I will never visit the Bearded Clam again. read more

Decent dive bar by the boardwalk. Didn't have food here, drinks only. They have a pool table and photo booth. Also sell alcohol to take home (cases of beer, bottles of liquor, etc). The bathroom situation though - ladies restroom is one stall and was absolutely filthy. Even the sink was gross. Definitely wouldn't eat here after seeing that bathroom, and I'm glad I bought white claws instead of mixed drinks lol. read more

Back in 2018 I was on vacation in Dewey Beach and one of the days we took an evening to go to Ocean City MD. My former boss at my old job was on vacation in Ocean City MD at the time so I met up with him and his brother and we knew we needed a bar to go to and grab a drink. We found The Bearded Clam near the end of the boardwalk about a block away and we thought it was perfect. The inside was packed to the brim with so many pictures and memorabilia to look at it gave it a nice aesthetic. They also had pool tables too although we did not have time to play. Being early evening it wasn't too crowded and it was like we had the place to ourselves! We sat at the bar and the bar tender was pretty friendly too. We had a few good drinks, talked a great deal and had a great time before going our separate ways. Even if we visited Ocean City MD for the evening, The Bearded Clam was a welcome addition. read more

It's Harley Heaven and a biker bar, but there's not THAT many unless it's bike week (I think it's end of summer-ish). Little rough and tumble, but a true OC landmark. (06/08/2011) Great divey bar in O.C., if you can get past the name. It's a locals kind of place. I honestly, as a non-white, female, visiting from the "City", was a little afraid. There is definitely a redneck-y kind of vibe to it (maybe it was the NASCAR paraphernalia that tipped me off). Our bartender was great though, very friendly (other patrons and the bouncer, not so much), and made us all sorts of delicious citrus drinks. This is the reason to go here: fresh squeezed juice. I went in to get a simple six pack and the man named Chip I believe at the register snapped at me simply due to the product being under 10 for a card to be rung up, after grabbing a water to get over 10 the man at the register rudely threw my card down and was generally unpleasant due to me not seeing a small sign stating the 10 dollar minimum for card. Never have I been at a place and treated so poorly. It's nice to know active duty military members get treated so poorly here. Looked like a decent place but that horrible man's attitude ruins any chance of having a decent time there. Stay away! read more

If ZERO was an option, that's exactly what this place would be. I love dive bars, this place seemed like the perfect place to grab a beer and get out of the sun for a bit. I immediately regretted walking in as soon as I met the honest to god worst bartender I've ever had, Chip. He was terribly rude and sarcastic the entire time I was there. Easily the most unwelcoming waitstaff I've encountered. The place is cool and the vintage decor is nice but a cool place with terrible people isn't worth the trip. I read other reviews before posting my own. I have always been welcomed & if I can't get to the bar to order a drink someone has always been helpful enough to relay my request. The bartenders look tough but are very friendly & welcoming. I am not a biker & look nothing like one but I was treated as "one of the gang." I have been here around 10 - 15 times in a span over 10 years. I love how they have a separate shooter station. Cherry jello shooters are $1 & good. The price hasn't changed since my first time here. They offer with or without whipped cream. The only issue I have is the bathrooms are always gross & for one person. They keep it stocked, but I have heard they have run out. It was filled shortly. If your not friendly or talkative, skip it, everyone is your friend here. read more

My husband and I are so happy to have stumbled on this bar during a recent trip. I am so glad we didn't read previous yelp reviews because that may have made us go somewhere else- we are definitely not biker crowd material. These bartenders have worked there since the 80's and make incredible drinks with a fresh juicer. Loved the Grapefruit Crush and the Whiskey Sour so much that I asked them to show me how to do it at home (which they did). I should note that we went off season (April) so the bartenders weren't too busy to talk and be personable. read more

It was my buddies 21st birthday yesterday so we came down to OC to celebrate. We ended up stumbling upon the bearded clam and I must say I'm extremely happy with how everything was. Very well mannered bar with a great environment and fast service. There are many things to do such as darts, pool and a self serve juke box. Classic old school laid back bar. Cold cheap beer, awesome conversation starting antique decor, and friendly bartenders and staff. Doorman was funny and joked around, "we have ocean side bar seats, and we have bay side seats" and Was served immediately. read more

NEVER AGAIN! I love dive bars, don't mind witty wait-staff...BUT will not tolerate a downright rude bartender. Asked Chip a few simple questions about parking...the bar was all but empty....snarky comment. My friend generously tipped him and he was still rude after the tip! This went on the whole time we were seated at the bar. At first I thought he was just sexist, but he proceeded to treat the guys in the group in the same sarcastic way. Needless to say, we high-tailed it out of there. We were not rude, we were not rowdy, we did not deserve that treatment. The name says it all. This is a true dive bar but it is one of the best. This is always a must stop on our "crawl". Friendly describes the employees no matter how tough they act.....lol. We have been stopping in for a number of years now and always have a great time. Located steps from the boardwalk it is a great place to start. Go in, have a few cold ones and make the bartenders ring the bell. They appreciate it for sure. They also have a small area for take home purchases and as stated their merchandise. Oh and if you're not into beer, try their orange crushes.......not bad...not bad at all! read more
