New menu!!!

A great dive bar with awesome burgers! For a long time this place didn't have an open kitchen but it's back with great food!!! Great bartenders and a great place to stop in for a bite to eat with a drink!

A nice esquisite tequila drink

Very cool kind of place. It's unique with old pictures and the half lady hanging from the ceiling. The most important was that the bartender was very nice and had that calm easy going personality that made me comfortable asking for what ever drink. I really enjoy very different kinds of drinks. I don't care so much for bars. But this place was interesting. Locals are very friendly and will talk to you. Loved it. I'll definitely come back.

Just dropping in to say hello

Cool neighborhood pub. Any place that has Labatt on tap gets at least a 4 star rating from me. Decent daily beer specials.

In some ways it is not much of a bar with not much age, pat Chicago Sports stuff on the wall…read more Dropping my son and his friends off at a local quinceañera, thought I would find a dive bar while I waited, ended up being til midnight. Started to head to the most highly rated place on yelp but the parking lot of Phil's was inviting. Ended up being a wonderfully diverse crowd. WW..E or F, lots of fighting. ...whatever was not my favorite thing to watch, but just trying to hang out and turning off March Madness was not a big deal. But young Joe and I believe his brother run their grandfather's place, this Phil's. Authentic people, Joe a super good guy. People and their scuff mark presence and Joe's good heart and diversity will make this a place of increasing character. Hang out there, and continue to add your character. I will be back.

Italian Beef Crawl Stop #4:…read more Starting to get slowed down by the volume of beefs and beers, this short trip to the next bar was more than welcome. As we entered there were about two guys in there having an afternoon beer. My friend rolls up and orders a long line of glasses and pitcher after pitcher after pitcher. I commented to him, "This looks like a scene out of a Western flick where the banditos rob the money train and then go in all out buying whiskey!" Some folks picked up the ping pong paddles and started to play a game, still a few more popped in some quarters for Silver Strike Bowling and some others played some pool. I contented myself walking around and chugging out of the small glasses. The outdoors area was sweet with tables and lots of room out in the sun. We did run into some west siders who all had an opinion of where to get good beefs, but Johnnie's would be the next leg of the beef crawl. We probably ended staying here the longest and spent the most money than any other of the bars. We eventually ended up staying at Phil's and then eating Johnnie's at Phil's. The tables were big enough, so there was room for everyone to eat and keep drinking. All in all a decent bar with lots of sports banners, neon lights and cheap beer. A bit far out of my way and nothing compelling to bring me back, but definitely a spot worth checking out if you're in the neighborhood.

We had children with us and asked for their menu items to come as fast as they could. However, the server was extremely short with us and didn't even bring drinks quickly. While the restaurant was not very busy, it too a very long time to get our food - especially one in our group who didn't get food until almost everyone else was done. The food itself was ok, but I would say that nothing was exceptional - somewhat bland entrees and lacking originality. Could be what we ordered...as I know many people find the food here to be quite good. The prices are reasonable for the area but I was disappointed with the general unfriendly service and time to receive food. I've been here previously and we had a somewhat lackluster meal that time also. The previous time, they were pleasant enough but food was only ok - entrees were not very hot when we received them. All in all, there are friendlier spots in the area.
