I liked this place and had been coming pretty consistently. The tanning itself is good... not A+,…read morebut convenient and good enough that I was happy to keep returning. Unfortunately, today changed that. I made a last-minute appointment and called ahead to let them know I'd be a little late. Their policy is a 10-minute grace period, and I walked into the salon literally within the final 60 seconds of that window. They just kept repeating, "Well, it was 10 minutes, so we have to push your appointment," even though I was standing there within the stated grace period. At a certain point, I realized the conversation was going nowhere, so I stopped arguing and simply said I wouldn't be coming back--which is unfortunate, because I had been a consistent customer. And the cherry on top: they still charged me the cancellation fee. I completely understand having policies. I just think if your policy is 10 minutes, being there within those 10 minutes should count.

I was in the area on vacation this past summer and really just needed an hour to myself. Why would…read moreI need some "me time" when I'm on vacation you ask? Well... I was on vacation with about 15 other family members including my 5 month old preemie son who was having horrible issues with reflux and not sleeping through the night yet either. So yeah... mama needed a minute of relaxation on this not so relaxing vacay. I pulled up my trusty Yelp app and low and behold, there was a blow dry bar nearby. I was able to get a same day appointment and I enjoyed every minute of it. For someone who has had many blowouts at all different dry bars and salons, I have to say this experience was not the best of them all, but a great one nonetheless. The inside of this place is super cute and trendy. All the women working here were really nice and helpful too. I was late to my appointment (I did call to let them know though) so they told me they only had time to either just wash my hair and blow it out straight, or style it with dry shampoo. Totally fair, I was just happy they could get me in last minute, so I went with the wash and straight blow out. I really wish the wash would have been more involved. Usually at a dry bar theres a nice scalp massage included, or a hot towel or something special. It was pretty much your standard wash. The blowout itself looked great. I know it's not that hard to blow dry someone's hair out straight (or maybe it is?), but for the amount of hair I have I was impressed that they got it so sleek with just a round brush and all in like 45 minutes (including the wash)! Bombshell is definitely the best option in the area for a blowout or hairstyle -- highly recommend them!

Then, they tried to charge me another 90$ for another trial. All of my bridesmaids wanted to cancel after they found out they work exclusively with Bare Minerals. Overpriced for little experience and limited skill set.

They offer mostly sugar waxing, brow and lash tints/lift, and spray tans. I would return for a spray tan, I would just ask to go over my face twice as I feel it didn't get as tan as my body (in all fairness I should've asked what the reasoning behind only going over it once was). I would definitely recommend the studio to others! Support local! There's parking the back near the entrance of the building!

They travelled to Vegas, Scottsdale, and Mexico with me. They even held up on a 5 hour boat day in Mexico the day before my wedding, and they STILL looked amazing on wedding day, one week after getting them done. They have such a nice studio and they do more than lashes, including facials, head spa, brows, and lip tints. Pricing is fair and the staff is super nice. I took my husband there for a facial and he loved it. I think the lash extensions really elevated my look no matter what I was doing and I loved having them on! It's really nice for big events like weddings and vacations, but also similar pricing to getting your nails done regularly if you want to keep them on for a long time. Highly recommend!

I was impressed with what Shellie did with my Mom's hair because Mom has always been pretty darn particular about her hair and I like it even better now. After making an appointment, I found my neighbor goes to Shear Pleasure every week. My neighbor has a nice appearance (and I'm not just saying that because she's given me good clothes! LOL) So, it was encouraging to find Shear Pleasure is such a popular place! My appointment went very well. I've been almost everywhere in Grand Rapids and haven't ever found anyone that could do a whole lot with my hair and by this time I was afraid there was no hope for it, either, I had it messed up so bad. However, I brought some pictures of what I wanted to go for and Shellie was able to handle it with no problem. She is laid back & positive; very capable professionally and super personable. I was very pleased to find a mature, experienced stylist right near me. And, know I am going to enjoy this aspect of being in a small town. I've started booking Mother & Daughter days! Yay! My…read morehair was a gray silver with alot of new growth on top (and my hair is a dirty blonde) I'm exteremly picky when it comes to who touches my hair especially when going blonde, since I had bad experiences in the past at a previous salon. So I set up a consultation with Brittany so she could see my hair, and we could talk about what we were going to do with it. We agreed on a few low lights on top, and a few highlights through out. When the day came to get my hair done I was extremely excited. Brittany offered my a glass of wine while I got my hair done, and we engaged in casual conversation. By the time I was done my hair looked great. She ended up doing an ombre instead and it looked so natural and healthy. I ended up not coming in again for a few months and my hair grew out so nicely. But I wanted to go back to blonde all over for my second visit, I was in a time crunch and just told the receptionist I needed a cut, and alot of highlights. So someone that was great with blonde. They ended up setting me up with Aubrey. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and since it was so blonde in the picture, she said it would take a few visits to get to that shade of blonde, which I figured. She put close to 100 folis in my hair, and she was speedy and quick, but careful. She was absolutely fantastic! Her personality on top of her awesome skills made for an awesome visit. And my hair is exactly what I expected! Though they are on the pricy side, you pay for what you get! Definitely give Aubrey or Brittany a try if you want the blonde!

I completed two trials prior to ensure what I was looking for would be replicated on my wedding day. On the morning of my wedding, I specifically asked the stylist to use the hair netting she had used during my first trial, and she assured me it wouldn't be a problem. After my hair was finished, I was then told the salon had run out of the netting, so she had changed the bun instead. My hair looked completely different from both trials, and it was already falling apart before I even left the salon. Makeup artist Elaina attempted to salvage it back together with Bobby pins which was greatly appreciated. It was frustrating the salon didn't have the necessary supplies for a bridal appointment and didn't communicate that until after my hair was complete. One smaller issue was the credit card processing fee. It was never disclosed to me until I noticed the full amount of my deposit wasn't going to be applied to my final balance. Had I known there would be a processing fee, I would have used a different payment method for such a large transaction. Lastly, I got a gel French tip pedicure prior to the wedding. The polish application was sloppy and began peeling off that same day. The salon offered to fix it the next day, but unfortunately the repair still didn't hold. I'm disappointed in the outcome after multiple appointments and significant expense. The services did not meet expectations and I hope this review helps other brides.
