Had been researching top-end grills/smokers for years. As with most things, you get what you pay…read morefor, so I wasn't willing to sacrifice and go cheap. I've done this over and over, add nauseum. They always ended up rusted out and nasty looking in a matter of a couple years even with custom fit covers and/or shelter. I shyly approached the FGS clenching my wallet. Not sure if I was ready or take the plunge. I was met by Rachel who helped me arrive through a short Q&A at my forever grill. Enter 'The Big Green Egg'. I had heard of BGE and had enjoyed one of the finest steaks ever cooked on a BGE. I guess I had credited the goodness of the steak to the man at the grill. I digress. Soon I left. Still clenching my wallet, now empty, and a large BGE with Acacia wood workstation. I almost always suffer from buyers remorse. I haven't bought so much as a candy bar that I didn't hate until eating it. So the ride home was, as usual, another metaphorical self-inflicted gunshot wound. Two final warnings about Big Green Egg before singing praise. They are not cheap and they are not portable. Even the portable ones are about as portable as a boat anchor. These caveats were made very clear by Rachel who knows a great deal not only about BGE but the surfeit of insanely priced accessories. Rachel informed me that I must "season and break-in" the grill before using it. Again, she was very clear in everything I was getting myself into. So, I lit the grill with the free starter sticks and bag of coals provided by FGS and sat. Waiting. What to cook first? I had time so I headed to the store for the carne. Bought the best steaks that I could afford and headed for the ranch. Within an hour I had reproduced that sumptuous steak grilled by my friend the master grill man. I figured it a fluke. Beginners luck perhaps. So the next day it was ribs. Then a roast. THEN BRISKET!!! I couldn't stop! Every single day for weeks I was drawn to cook on this thing! I am not a BBQ master. Hell, I'm barely a novice. But on this thing I am El Conquistador. You just can't mess up. Low and slow. Scorching in seconds. Whatever your style. It's all good in my hood. With all the enjoyment I had been experiencing from the FGS and the BGE I was ready to deliver another punishing blow to my bank account. The Joetisserie. Like Ralphy and his BB gun, no matter how many times I was told "don't do it" I returned to the FGS to shoot my eye out. Again, met by Rachel and a gleaming sales grin. "Eggcessories?" She exclaimed! It's like she knows me. Takeaway: These people are great. They match any local price, they know their stuff and they are eager to please. They continually make it worth my time to return for business with small but rewarding little perks. And they have always had what I was looking for on-hand. Oh, and if you do go with a BGE make sure you join the social media groups on Facebook. These forums are literally the only reason I still have Fakebook.

Unhappy with service, owner and overall they couldn't care less about customer satisfaction. They assured me they install in 1 day, that is not the case. After numerous appointments, their work did NOT pass inspections for the install. Sorry I ever contacted them.

The staff at Heat'n Sweep were great. They asked us all the right questions to lead us to the proper log set and helped us quickly set up an install date for the gas line. Oh, and as my friend had suggested, they were very reasonable. Their installers showed up on time and later that day when we had concerns that there may be a gas leak, I shut off the gas and called their store. Alex there, walked me through the issue and explained that it was almost certainly the smell from the initial burn that was concerning me. Although I felt safe after our chat, Alex drove all the way to my house that evening to assure my family was safe and happy with the service- And my house isn't close. Once at the house, Alex walked me through everything and made us 100% comfortable. He was kind enough to give me a lesson on fireplaces and I picked his brain on a chimney issue I was having at a rental home. I ended up hiring his company for that job the next day and saved money there as well- As the previous contractor appeared to be taking advantage of me with his proposal. My tenant was super happy with the results. It's been several months since our install and no one is happier with it than my wife, who sits by the fire almost every evening during the winter to relax. Oh, except maybe for our neighbors across the way who we recommended they also use Heat'n Sweep! I was reminded to write this review as I sit here by our fireplace on a freezing winter morning with my pup, enjoying some peace and quiet before the craziness starts. Something I now do almost daily. I'm very appreciative of their work and happy to support a great Michigan family-owned business in these difficult times.

Corey repaired our very old and discontinued gas fireplace after another company came out and said…read morethey could not. Nancy did the homework to identify an alternative pilot assembly replacement for the discontinued one. Corey (clearly an experienced and skilled technician) came out to do the repair, worked around some problem issues, communicated well, and fixed it--all for a fair price. He was meticulous about cleanup leaving the fireplace and immediate surroundings cleaner than before. While their service backlog was a month, the knowledgeable, efficient service was well worth the wait.
