Though there was a really long line to get in and a bit of a pile up at the ticketing booth, I didn't sense that the crowd was getting agitated, and once we were inside, it was totally smooth sailing. I don't remember the name of the DJ we saw when I was there, but it was a popular one and the grassy area in front of the stage got more and more crowded as the night progressed, but it was the most comfortable I had felt of all the bars I had been to in Miami previously, where I was getting lots of stares and felt like my personal space was being invaded at all times. It was refreshing to just be, and not feel the need to be hyper vigilant at all times. We had a great view of the light show even from where we were way in the back. There were also food trucks and a couple of bar areas where drinks were easy to pick up. Glad to have found this little music oasis away from the bro-y bar vibes I had experienced elsewhere.

The Villa Paula has miraculously survived the trauma of the devastating hurricane of 1926 and attempts to tear it down.  Now Lovingly restored, it is a place for discovering art treasures -- ranging from Renoir and Picasso to Wilfredo Lam and Miami's homegrown genius, the late Pervis Young. Some people believe it is haunted by the ghost of Paula who was the wife of Cuban Consul Domingo Millord and for whom the house was named. Supposedly she died in 1932 after having one leg amputated. There are stories all over the internet claiming that this is the most haunted house in Miami. If you love the idea of owning a haunted house then you are in luck because Villa Paula is for sale for $4.5 million dollars. If you saw the neighborhood in Little Haiti you might be a little skeptical as to the price tag of this property. The house last sold in 2016 for a mere $500,000. It was used as an art gallery managed by Martin Siskind. The house is jointly owned by Martin and his brother Richard. Martin wanted to sell but Richard didn't. The dispute between the brothers has finally been settled and the mansion along with four other properties is now on the market. They are justifying the large price by saying that this is an up and coming neighborhood like Wynwood. The house is a designated historic site so it cannot be changed. It will be interesting to see what is eventually done with it. I am hoping for a museum or something in that vein that honors the history of this property.

Located in North Miami Beach, the space is nice, spacious and right by the beach so you get this night time beach breeze (if you're attending an evening concert). They have a parking lot conveniently a block away and a bunch of street parking all around. Everytime I have attended an event here, it's typically seamless, well organized and an overall great time. They usually offer seats in the back end of the space, with standing free-space all around. Bars on the sides of the entrance and the stage in the middle. Since it is a smaller venue, you usually get a good view wherever you're at due to the size of the space. I love watching up and coming artists here because it's such an intimate experience.

The church itself is a pretty space, with a classic look from the wood arches. Acoustics were clear, and the pianist was talented. I mean, they didn't play the Pichy Boys song (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yRLm7EkPwoY) but had a modern interpretation of church hymns. I believe Padre Alberto's wife was the vocalist. Padre Alberto himself is an energetic speaker, and made a few relevant modern symbology. The theology is still essentially Catholic.
