The view of the Intracoastal Waterway, bridge, and sunset transformed what might otherwise have felt like a city view into a peaceful retreat. In the room, the natural wood furniture and accents created such a warm, peaceful atmosphere. I enjoyed spending time in the room, especially sleeping in and having a cup of Nespresso Vertuo coffee on the balcony daybed or sofa while my husband enjoyed another "brutal" exercise class that offered a challenging workout for someone who enjoys his kettlebells, grueling Zwift bike races, and 13-mile hikes with a combined 8,000 feet of ascent and descent--for fun! Inside, a magnificent live-edge wooden table extended across much of one wall, with room for two dining chairs. The comfortable sectional sofa and natural wood coffee and side tables made the living area especially inviting. Another feature I loved was the glass-walled shower between the bathroom and bedroom, which allowed natural light to flow through the space and provided a view toward the balcony. The room amenities were thoughtfully designed. There was a Nespresso Vertuo coffee maker and a filtered-water faucet at the minibar, along with an assortment of glasses and a glass decanter beside the bed. The minibar and snacks were extensively stocked, although the refrigerator was so full that there wasn't room to store our own items. The lobby was just as inviting, with large white sofas, natural wood tables and walls, plants, pottery, and beautiful organic textures throughout. The combination of natural materials and understated luxury made the entire hotel feel like a peaceful, luxurious nature cocoon. The recreational facilities were equally impressive, with four swimming pools, including an adults-only rooftop pool, and a Jacuzzi on a lower level. The rooftop pool was a wonderful place to relax, with attentive poolside service. The hotel also has an enormous, well-equipped gym and offers complimentary exercise classes for guests. The staff added to the experience. We received an exceptionally warm, enthusiastic welcome at check-in, and the same genuine friendliness when we checked out. Throughout our stay, employees smiled, asked how everything was going and offered assistance. Their positive energy made us feel welcome. Joel, our waiter at Watr on the rooftop, was friendly, enthusiastic and helpful. He really created a welcoming, positive atmosphere. I appreciated his suggestion that we order a few dishes first and decide whether we wanted more before ordering additional items. The DJ provided fun, upbeat music that gave the restaurant a hip vibe, while keeping the volume comfortable enough for conversation. At the rooftop pool, Patrick was wonderfully attentive, adjusting our umbrella several times as the sun shifted to keep us comfortable. Joe helped set up our chairs and umbrella. Their thoughtful service made our time by the pool even more relaxing. We stayed through the American Express Fine Hotels + Resorts program. The guaranteed 4 p.m. late checkout was entered into the system when we checked in, and although an upgrade was not available, we appreciated being able to check in at 11 a.m. The breakfast credit covered the $50-per-person buffet at the AVIV Israeli restaurant. I liked the made-to-order omelets, the chia seed cups, fresh avocado purée, and the opportunity to try some Israeli flavors. The scrambled eggs on the buffet were fine. I didn't like the bitter coffee, which caused me some GI distress, but the jasmine tea, served in an Asian-style iron teapot with honey and lemon, was a winner. There is a $66-per-day resort fee, and we enjoyed the one-hour complimentary bicycle rental, which made exploring Muscle Beach and the area farther south much easier than walking in the hot, humid weather. I was genuinely sad when it was time to check out. Between the beautiful suite, relaxing balcony, soothing natural surroundings, and genuinely friendly staff, 1 Hotel South Beach was a wonderful place to relax and enjoy ourselves. It's not often that I enjoy spending time at a hotel as much as exploring the destination itself.

From the first impression at the valet, they were very accommodating, offered to help with suitcases, told us if we went to eat to ask the hostess for validation on the ticket which was half off the $60 per night charge. The lobby is beautiful, lots of staff, fresh fruit infused water, and small grab and go coffee cafe. There is a bar near the elevator and their Mediterranean restaurant Aviv. I downloaded the app to check in and get my room key but unfortunately it didn't work on the elevator so I had to go back to check in to get a key. Once at the room, the app does work to open your door which is convenient since the card is a small wooden circle that can get lost in your pocket easily. Once in the room, it was spacious and clean for the most part..there was left over tape hanging on the top of the headboard high on the wall which was a bit distracting when the ac came on. The city view is nice but you can hear the street and golf carts blasting their music throughout the night, even on the 6th floor. The Bamford spa was very nice, I had a facial and left so relaxed I just wanted to stay and nap! The girls at the front desk were kind and welcoming with a shot of beet juice which was a nice touch. My only wish is there were more relaxing places to stay, a hammam room, steam, cold plunge etc. there was none of these so after my facial I left. $$The plnthouse cafe/deli is just through the anatomy gym or on the 2nd floor. The food was fresh and delicious but definitely pricey but on par with the cost of the stay. $$$$Aviv is a Mediterranean restaurant with seed free oils, wood fire grilled items and fresh made hummus. For 2 people we spent $190 on hummus, 2 kabobs and a cucumber salad, a key lime dessert, and sparkling water. The food was fresh but a little salty. The pools - we stayed in the presidential cabana and had the pool overlooking the beach to ourselves. The staff was attentive and friendly. Drinks and food were served quickly. Overall there is something for everyone. They are pet friendly (up to 2 pets under 50lbs allowed) staff was attentive, greeted you at every passing, asked if you needed anything and offered to help. I would definitely recommend if you want to experience a wellness focused resort.

From the moment we arrived with check-in, getting our bags to our room, we were treated like true VIPs. Once we got to the room, we had time to change and head to the pool. The evenings were great as we were able to sit out on the balcony and relax, while at the same time being in the lobby or hitting the restaurant was always great. We took advantage of the on-site yoga classes and the beach every day while we were there. The beach area was nice, in the servers supporting the beach I felt did their best to accommodate all of the guests outside. If you're a frequent AMEX user, I would definitely recommend going through your AMEX as it really did just make a difference. The grounds were well kept the pool was clean. The staff was friendly and most importantly, we had an overall great experience. I would definitely recommend it for anybody coming to South Beach to come here, as it's centrally located and it's easily accessible to lots of other activities you may want to consider.

It's hard to summarize all the amazing aspects of this venue. The grounds and Mansion are gorgeous and transport you away from the hectic hustle and bustle of Miami. It is truly a special place with rich history.  The mansion has multiple beautiful locations, for ceremonies, receptions, and photographs. We had our ceremony in the grove at sunset, and it looked absolutely magical with the bistro lights hung in the trees. Our reception was in the courtyard, which is gorgeous in its own right, and with it fully decorated it felt more like we were in the Mediterranean compared to Miami.  The Mansion crew is amazing!! Sherry and Javi are the BEST!!! We had the wedding of our dreams, which would not have been the same with out this location or Sherry and Javi's help. The pair were so easy to work with, maintained flexible schedules for visits to show off our venue to visiting family and friends, and exuded with passion for the Mansion. The crew so clearly cares deeply about the mansion and its history, you can't help but fall in love with it as well right alongside them. They wanted to make sure we had the wedding of our dreams and worked hard to make sure all the details were in place to make it happen. We always felt like a priority to them and were treated with utmost respect. As a same-love couple, it's not always easy to feel comfortable searching for wedding venues. Sherry and the Mansion crew's support meant the world to us and made us feel safe and celebrated. The closed vendor list at the Mansion was very helpful in making sure we found high-quality vendors for our wedding. It saved us a lot of time searching and vetting. This place is truly a hidden gem. We recommend this venue without reservation to anyone looking for a magical, historic setting for their wedding or special event.

I originally planned to have my wedding at the Curtis Mansion, but after experiencing multiple…read morelosses in my family, my husband and I decided to elope. The venue meant so much to me that I still wanted to incorporate it into our wedding photographs and preserve a piece of the dream I had originally envisioned. Unfortunately, I left in tears, feeling humiliated and disrespected by an employee named Debbie. I had communicated with Debbie beforehand through phone calls and messages about our elopement, our outfit changes, and the vehicle we planned to use for photographs. Yet, from the moment we arrived, after knocking for approximately 10 minutes, I was met with attitude, eye rolls, and judgment. She questioned why I wasn't ready, despite our previous conversations about changing at the venue. I was standing there with my wedding bouquet, and she even asked whether I was getting married, despite my having explained our plans multiple times beforehand. As a client, I expected the person handling our booking to be familiar with the arrangements we had discussed. I shared something deeply personal with her about losing both my parents and my beloved dog, who I had imagined walking me down the aisle at this very venue. Her dismissive reactions made me feel as though my grief and the significance of the day were an inconvenience. When my photographer asked whether she could hang my wedding dress for flat-lay photographs, Debbie appeared annoyed. Although she eventually permitted it, she then physically removed my dress and placed it on a table. Even these small details became stressful when they should have been part of a beautiful experience. Things escalated when our rental car arrived earlier than scheduled, without my knowledge. Despite having discussed the vehicle beforehand, Debbie called me a liar multiple times in front of my husband and photographer. When I do have documentation that I did tell her there was a car going to be present. I spent nearly an hour of our reserved photography time trying to resolve the situation. And every time I would leave, Debbie would complain about me to my Photographer making my Photographer extremely uncomfortable. We were also locked outside and left knocking for approximately 15 minutes before our photographer had to find another entrance to let us back in. From outside, I could see Debbie on her phone, knowing we were knocking and ringing doorbell. Throughout the session, she would be unavailable when we needed assistance but would reappear to confront me. For a 4 hour shoot included Mansion staff, which I'm assuming that was her , it was CLEAR that she didn't wanna be there. Throughout the experience, I felt as though we were walking on eggshells. With the last hour of my shoot I was in my wedding dress Debbie again yelled me again and pointed her finger at me and kept bringing up the car situation when it was resolved an hour before. I had to ask her if she can yell at me after photographs because I didn't want to lose any more of our limited time. She responded that I was "wasting her time!!" I work in the bridal industry, where I understand how important it is to make couples feel welcomed and supported during such meaningful moments. I would never want another bride to experience the humiliation and distress I experienced that day. She didn't even see us out when we left. I tried to reach out to the original people that I spoke to when I was going to book my wedding at the venue and had a good experience with but it was a very disappointing response! The mansion itself is beautiful, but unfortunately, the way I was treated overshadowed what should have been a special memory for my husband and me. NO BRIDE should leave her wedding photo shoot in tears because of how she was treated. These photographs were meant to preserve a beautiful chapter of our love story, and it breaks my heart that this experience will always be part of that memory.
