This place has a bad reputation and the music is terrible. The atmosphere isn't friendly. The place is basically a trash collection.

I had a brisket sandwich, wife had a really immense chicken salad. My son had a ruben sandwich and I can't remember what my daughter had. However, all the food was really great and I really did enjoy myself. After lunch my daughter took me to the Rusty Rail store and I bought a nice T-shirt. If you do buy a T-shirt, I want to say, while the shirts are great, wash up nice and feel really comfortable, make sure you buy an upsized shirt. Normally I take a large but I decided on an XL and I am glad I did because after washing the XL fits perfectly. And I got to speak with (I think either the manager or owner) about the music they were playing. They were playing songs from my favorite singer, Bob Seger. I have every Bob Seger song he ever published on either, CD, Cassette Tape (yeah, still got one that works), or vinyl record. Told him he needs to check out the Bob Seger song Little Victories. I actually have a vinyl record with just that song. It is the large 78 version. That was a rare find and I actually found that in Germany in the mid 80's. The song says a lot. Anyway, after speaking with the man, my daughter said I could pick out and mix my own six pack of beer. Let me tell you, Rusty Rail makes some really, really fantastic beer. I would have to say my two faovrites are Wolf King, a stout with coffee & oatmeal and the other is Fool's Gold, Peanut Butter Hefeweizen. Oh my God, those two are absolutely great beers. I should be living in Mifflinburg because I would be making a weekly stop at the Rusty Rail. And for all you ex-military people, the Rusty Rail does give a discount to military. I hope my kids take me to the Rusty Rail again next year. Oh, in case I did not say it. The kids took mom and dad to the Rusty Rail and the Wild Animal Sanctuary as a gift for our birthday's and Mother's Day and Father's Day. It just so happens my wife was born on Mother's Day and I was born the day after Father's Day. The atmosphere of the Rusty Rail is great, it is simply a real nice place to socialize. And as a compliment to the Rusty Rail, I want to add this. When I go out to eat, one of the first things I do is use the restroom. Why? To see how clean the restrooms are. If a venu's restrooms are dirty, find another place because if they can't keep the restrooms clean, then they don't care about your food much either. The restrooms at the Rust Rail were immaculately clean. JUST TO BE CLEAR, THE RESTROOMS AT THE RUSTY RAIL ARE IMMACULATELY CLEAN. Thank You Rusty Rail for a wonderful time with my family.

We tried stopping in once before and they were completely booked for the night. This time we planned ahead, made a reservation, and were seated right away. At the recommendation of our waitress, we all ordered the chicken and waffles special, and every single person loved it. It was absolutely delicious. I also had the Reuben soup and it was very tasty. They also have a wonderful beer selection. I tried the blueberry beer, which was very tasty with a smooth blueberry finish that really stood out. If you're looking for a great brewery with good food, great beer, and a fun atmosphere, I would definitely recommend checking this place out!

The waitress was very nice, Tayler or Tyler I think, the atmosphere was a bit fancy for a brewery but fine. The problem we had was the food. My wife ordered fish and chips and I had the Ruban, mine was fine except it was like the vanilla of Ruban's. My wife, however, asked for tartar sauce and got cocktail sauce. The waitress had no idea what tartar sauce was, no problem, but we expected the cook staff would but nope, tartar sauce was up there with unoptainium, didn't exist. The other issues are small, the waitress was thrown off by the tartar sauce issue I think and we rarely saw her. She forgot my beer order twice, never tried to do anything to keep us there, upselling like more drinks or desert. Granted, she was very young so it's understandable. Lastly, the beer was fine but the options were kind of weak. I had a pilsner that was very average, it's not a complaint so much as I kind of expect more from an onsite brewery. It's all personal taste so I get it. We will probably try it again but it will be a little while.

It's different than most in the area. You don't get the same kind of crowd. It's not the college student flooding the doors. It's adults professionals families coming to have a good time in a calm, relaxed pub they're not looking to spend hours knocking back shots or blinding up drinks you can if you want, but it's more sophisticated than other bars in the area, it's found in the same building as the tavern, which is also a great restaurant, but at Adams apple, you don't need to spend the same amount of money as a whole meal. They got good appetizers and great drinks of the restaurant is wonderful old Tavern style of a pub that has a good sized bar to sit in the winter they have a fireplace. The aroma smells wonderful because of all the drinks and to top it. All the bartenders are great at what they do and they will always help you with a drink that you want to specialize or make recommendations all in all it's a great place and I think if you're looking for a bar downtown, especially if you don't want it to be super crowded with college students I would say go here.

The old fashioned was mixed appropriately, served over a cube with an amerana cherry and a fruit peel. The Original Sin isn't as I remember but that could easily be me. The drink is for those that don't drink and tasted like seltzer with grenadine. In actuality, the Original Sin is champagne with cherry brandy. The prices are a little high for State College and the Old Fashioned was delivered in a slightly non-traditional glassware for the drink. The Old Fashioned pour was also stingy.
