There are three locations for this business, Camby, Mooresville and Martinsville. My sister…read morevisited the Mooresville location first and picked up a brochure and we thought about our needs and where we would put a large barn. A couple of weeks later she and I returned to the Mooresville location which is located on State Road 67 on the southbound side of the road between the light at TOA and the light at Old 67. We met with an employee who gave us a lot of facts and figures and more to think about. He also had a list of current inventory at all three locations. The size and style we were considering, the wood A frame (no loft) with the nine foot garage door, was in stock at the Martinsville location. The Martinsville location is located on the 39 bypass just past the light leading to downtown if coming from Hwy 67. My sister, her husband and I decided to go look at that specific unit at the Martinsville location. I like the way they leave all their buildings unlocked so you can shop without an employee being on site. That unit turned out to be four feet longer than what we originally wanted. Each unit has the price posted inside with a few rent to own payment options listed as well. We decided the extra four feet would probably come in handy later on and decided to go with a unit that was in stock rather than wait for one to be built. The wait time for a unit to be built was only a couple of weeks. We decided that location of the side door, window, number of windows and choice of colors was not that important so we opted for the one they had in stock. We did add a ramp to our purchase. What really impressed us was the delivery by Stutz Trucking. They had to place the unit in a tight corner inside another gated area within our five acre business. Further, he took extra time to level the unit because we didn't provide much of a level surface. The ground was level but we had two different sizes of large gravel covering the ground. We are very happy with our purchase and the delivery and setup of our new landscape maintenance barn.

A few weeks ago, my wife and I purchased a new home with a walkout basement bedroom and an egress window. My wife claimed the room as her own, but shortly after we moved in, she discovered a wet spot in the carpeting near the window. I didn't know where to turn, so I consulted ChatGPT, which pointed me to Windowman. It turned out to be the best recommendation I could have received. I soon learned that Rance is widely regarded as the foremost expert in egress windows in the entire state. I called the company, and Rance reached out promptly and arranged to come by the next day. I braced myself for the worst -- a high-pressure sales pitch and a bill somewhere between $5,000 and $10,000. But Rance was unlike any contractor I've dealt with. He assessed the problem, and almost immediately told me I didn't need a new window at all -- he could repair the existing one. I was relieved. When I asked when he could do the work, he said he'd return at the end of his day to handle it himself. When I asked about cost, he told me not to worry, and we eventually settled on a price that was almost embarrassingly reasonable. True to his word, Rance returned late on a Friday afternoon and completed the repair in just a few hours. But he didn't stop there. Rather than simply fixing the problem, he had cleaned up the entire area and replaced all the surrounding metal trim, leaving the window looking and functioning like new. When I pointed out that this was far more than we'd agreed to, he said simply that he wanted the window to be as good as new -- so that's what he made it. That kind of pride in one's work is rare, and it's rarer still in the home contracting industry. What happened next is something I have never done in my 79 years: I paid him more than he asked. I couldn't, in good conscience, accept the quality of work I received for what he intended to charge me. Rance and Windowman have my highest and most enthusiastic recommendation. If you have an egress window issue -- or any window issue -- stop searching. You've already found the right person.

I debated for several days whether to write this review or not, not too keen on writing "negative"…read morereviews, & genuinely liking Randy as a person. However, after reflecting on the job he did for me, how it turned out, & how much he charged me, I feel like I must share my experience. I had bought one of those 8x6 resin shed kits on Amazon (my first mistake) & hired someone off Craigslist (my second mistake) to put it together, which they royally screwed up, namely the roof. A few pieces were missing, to be fair. After seeing some great reviews for this guy, I brought him out for an estimate & to see if it was salvageable. Randy assured me it was fixable & quoted me $350 to take the roof off & rebuild it. I will say that he was always punctual & professional acting. But as I looked out over halfway through the quoted time, he had taken the shed apart, all the way down to the floor. So I checked in, & he assured me that I was gonna have a working, finished shed, though it'd take a couple extra hours. Fine, I said, I just wanted it done & functional. A couple more hours pass, nearly double the quoted time. And he just gives up, says the best option is to throw a tarp over it & call it done. It will be fully functional, he says. But it's not. The corners blow up, the doors don't work hardly at all, & the middle sags with any rain. He assured me again & again that I'd have a functional shed, & I really don't. Randy kept bad-mouthing the previous people who first put it together, talking about professional quality & integrity. But at least the doors worked (though they were on backwards, okay) & it had an actual roof (though there were a few small gaps). In the end, he ended up billing me for eight hours on a job quoted for four hours & an end result that would've taken two hours (removing roof, flipping the doors, & "installing" the tarp) if he had been honest from the get-go. With his confidence & good reviews, I trusted that Randy would do right by me (my third mistake). He has not, leaving me with a shed that is less functional & less stable than when he arrived, with nearly $600 less in my bank account. If Randy had half the integrity he claimed he had, he would have been more aware & upfront. He acted like he did what we agreed on, very quick to send the invoice in the middle of the night. I have been waiting for him to reach out & apologize. Nothing. I would like a refund of most, if not all, of what I paid him since I'm gonna have to pay to replace the roof he dismantled & did not reassemble. I had hoped we found our new handyman, but not after this mess.

He tried to get me to make an additional 5 inch header plus the existing header to fix the mistake or put 2x4's on the bottom. He acted as if I was being unreasonable to want how it was originally planned and in the contract. I asked if he could expedite the window order. He implied if I didn't go with the "other options" (he gave) then I would have to wait three weeks for them to be built. He also used the excuse that there is a computer glitch on measuring that has to be overwritten and the person forgot. Michael assured me this hasn't happened in 7 years, as if that makes it ok. (I was told by Mike Dutton in his sales pitch that the windows are made by Patio Enclosures instead of another company, Mr. Dutton also said the job would take two days, which is way off, it would take at least a week. I kept asking Michael S. for the windows to be fast tracked. He said no. I left three messages (one of them was with a receptionist) for his Supervisor Rachel Sugalski to call me on Monday & Tuesday and Wednesday. She has not returned my call. I am very disappointed and frustrated that my porch is open and unfinished. I can't sit out there because of the mosquitos. I am shocked that a big company who charges so much for an enclosure, treats their customers like this. I called the HR department and of course, no one answers the phone. Left a message to return my call, no response. I am going to write the company CEO, this is ridiculous that I can't get a human being to answer or call me. I also stopped the access to funds, so they can't get any more money until it is finished and right.

We decided that as nice as the sunroom would be, we don't anticipate staying in the house another year or more, so adding that investment wouldn't make financial sense. But the quality of the product, and the flexibility of what can be done is absolutely great, and if the home we buy next does need a sunroom edition I'll know exactly who to call.
