An astonishing find. We only found out about it by word of mouth. The portents weren't good: it's down a winding track and located on a caravan park (the restaurant toilets double up as the shower block). But the sleek modern barn conversion and welcoming downstairs bar immediately puts you at ease that you're in the realm of modern British cuisine. Great locally sources dishes and a strong wine list make it an elite eaterie (at an elite price). It's worth it though. My only minor gripe is the 'no kids' rule - great for atmosphere in the evenings but precludes weekend lunches. read more
