We were looking for a new groomer for our Goldendoodle and little sheltie. We were able to get appointments for each on different days, but Bark Shoppe was able to get them both in on the same day, saving us 2 trips. The grooming itself was excellent. Willa (the sheltie) was fluffy and looked great, and had a perfect undercoat brushing that avoided lots of shedding when she got home. Arlo, the doodle, needed a pretty close cut, but it still looked awesome. Arlo and Willa will be back soon. read more

Unless you want to be nickle & dimed, do NOT come to this groomer. Very unfortunate to be leaving this review. We've taken our dog to this shop about 4 times in total. The first time the Front Desk communicated that the grooming would be done in 30 minutes and when we came back, she denied ever saying that. The grooming took 4 hours in total. We were very unhappy with this, but the owner graciously gave us a discount so we took it as a gesture of good faith. The 2nd/3rd time were fine, but then our dog ended up at the vet & got an ear infection because we found out that they never cleaned out his ears or plucked his ears so we spent over $1K at the vet. The final time (I know, stupid us for going again), we wanted to see if we could make it work because of the proximity of Bark Shoppe and wanting to truly support local businesses, they charged us a "LATE FEE" for picking up our dog 30 minutes after they called even though they never once disclosed that this policy existed. I emailed their team and instead, their front desk person called us and said "we can't refund this fee and moving forward it would be better for your dog to be groomed elsewhere." What. A. Joke. We will NOT be coming back to this place. read more

THEY CUT A TINY CHUNK OF MY DOGS EAR OFF! I got my dog home and noticed a tiny notch in his ear. I reached out immediately to them, and they let me know that they would investigate and get back to me. I was called back the same day to be told that what I saw on his ear was an old scab that fell off, that they should have let me know when they found it, and apologized that they didn't do that and offered me a free wash for the next time I came in. Also frustrated because I specifically said "i like to keep the little wisp of hair on his ears" basically don't touch the ears. I could literally see where the clippers left stroke marks right at the position of the injury, but I had no proof that it was a new wound until the next day. It happened to be raining pretty heavily, I walked my dog just for a quick pee and come back upstairs, and I noticed blood on the top of his head on the side of his face and realize that his ear is bleeding because the water re-opened the fresh wound they did. Of course I would not be OK with my dog getting hurt in anyway, but I think this situation would've been less infuriating if they took accountability for hurting my dog and not even mentioning it to me when I picked him up, and offering me a free bath as compensation, which I thought was strange if they had done nothing wrong. This place is already ridiculously expensive. They raised their prices and for the $125 that I spent I am extremely upset. I would also like to note: if you go through the photos you'll see quite a few other dogs get nicked or badly cut as well. I wish I looked more closely before. After rescuing our pup we wanted to make sure we took him to amazing groomers. We had heard great things from our neighbors and decided to give them a try. Upon arriving I we were warmly greeted and given advice about what grooming services would be best for out pup. He received a pup and fluff and he left looking and smelling great! My dog turned 12 years old July 2023. His most recent grooming service was in April of 2023. While making his August appointment, I was told they do not accept dogs 12 years or older. I wish I was informed of this new policy at my April appointment. I was told my dog was at the age limit and that in 2019 the groomer noted he didn't like his nails trimmed. Only issue at his recent appointment was him being nervous. Below is the policy on there site as of Aug 15, 2023. Nothing about not accepting dogs older than 12 years of age. SENIOR DOGS Grooming procedures sometimes can be stressful, especially for a senior pet or a pet with health problems. As they have a greater chance of injury, these pets will be groomed for cleanliness and comfort, in styles that will not add to their stress. We reserve the right to stop the grooming process at any time if we feel it is in the best interest of the dog. We will use extra care and patience for older pets; however, we will not be held responsible for any reaction due to the mental or physical stress of grooming the geriatric pet. Since my healthy 14 lbs senior dog is not accepted, this tells me the "extra care and patience for older pets" that is in their policy is not accurate. read more

The staff at The Bark Shoppe really listens to what I want and they are so good with him. The first time I left him there, he was afraid, but he's gotten so much more comfortable with his groomers that he really doesn't mind going these days. I took him to a couple of other grooming places before I found the Bark Shoppe, and the other places really did not compare. I take back a previous revious review I gave Tthe Bark Shoppe. I believe my dog was violated. I told them not to put him in a room with other dogs unless they were tied up separately. When I went to get my dog one of the ladies consulted me asking if I was okay as if I was told something about my dog but I wasnt told anything. I then noticed my dog had diarrhea. When we got hom he kept licking his but. I noticed that it was burned and two dog bite marks on his buttocks. Another grooming place actually told me that they burnt him with the cutters. I had been going to the Bark Shoppe on and off for over two years but today is the last day, last time. I booked my appointment last month requesting a specific staff member. Showed up today to find new staff, no one had courtesy to inform me that the person I requested is no longer there. The person Edwin took two hours for each dog and did a shitty haircut for each dog. I walked in there and saw him on the phone while my dog was on the table. The only reason I didn't act a fool is I didnt want to go to jail. I showed a picture to this groomer and he did what he wanted. The quality of the hair cuts are poor and he shaved my dogs' tails. A real ass hole you are. But you won't last long because your skills are poor. The girl at the front desk barely answers the phone, I walked in and she was on the cell phone. listen, i am in disbelief that my child did not receive the throughly explained/discussed grooming procedure. he is one buzz cut. that is not what was discussed. he was supposed to be low 1/4 of an inch and have his traditional schnauzer band which is 3/4 of an inch. we will not be returning! you all are horrible groomer's he has 2 nicks on his face, one of which is a mole that is attached to his skin!!! i am highly disappointed and my child is super quiet and looks extremely sad!!! i take my child to get groomed every couple of months and never has he been so withdrawn, shellshocked and disassociated!!!! also, we requested the premium treatment and received the standard which was not the request and money was certainly not the issue. read more

I have come here twice for dog grooming. It's nice, but a bit pricy. They need to consider the size of the dog comparative with pricing. For example, my dog is 4lbs and I wanted her paws, tail dyed, they were going to charge $70. Not worth it for a dog her size. But, still the service was great and I'll return. read more

I've been here four or five times, and decided it's not worth it anymore. I've given very specific instruction on how I prefer the cut. I show photo references, write notes in my appointment bookings, speak personally with the groomers, yet every time, it comes back a miss. She always ends up looking like a grandma poodle dog. The biggest concern is that my dog has come back with infected and swollen toenails twice, and today, she came back with unclean eyes, one of which had a huge red sore. I'll also add that while the groomers are very kind, the owner who works at the front desk has a terrible attitude. She also upcharged me as a "medium dog" because my small Havanese is one pound over the threshold. Customer service deserves a 0 rating. read more

I have been bringing my dog here since 2013. Very rarely do I ever get the same groomer-this place has a high turnover when it comes to groomers and that leaves a lot to question. Anyway, despite this, for the sake of convenience, I have been bringing my 15 year old shih tzu/Lhasa here. They are aware that he's a senior dog who is temperamental. He doesn't like his face groomed-he hates scissors, but most of the groomers have been able to work around this issue. Until yesterday. My dog had an appt on 9/16 with yet a new groomer named André. I always explain to the groomers before hand that the dog is snippy. I feel that as a professional, they ought to be able to work around this issue or find suitable alternatives. This was not the case. This groomer attempted to do the dog's face, pretty much cutting his fur down to the quick exposing all the unsightly skin tags that are hidden under the dog's fur. He left his face uneven and choppy. I was completely dissatisfied and expressed that at the front desk. I was told the dog tried to bite the scissors, and that's why the groomer left his face that way. My gripe is why attempt to cut him with the scissors if this was the case? I would have much rather his face been cleaned and uncut than to leave him looking botched. Even more so the front desk made no attempts at amending the situation--it was "oh well, he bites the scissors, so..." I hate to have to search for a new groomer, but with the high turnaround and the lackluster customer service, it's probably for the best. PS-the owner has responded w the usual lack of accountability I've noticed out here. The best recourse for dealing with an "aggressive" dog is to not attempt to cut a dog's face when you notice he's snipping at the scissors! No excuses! This has been done SEVERAL times by the gazillion other groomers who have worked for you over the years. None of them has ever left my dog's face looking this way. This was a piss poor job. If something can't be done, don't take my money and give me a half complete or botched job. Nothing transparent about that. read more

Our pup is nicked in various places and bleeding in one large spot near his private area. He is also itching himself frequently due to being shaved so close to his skin that it caused a rash in multiple spots. They explained this was normal after a cut and that the rash would heal in a few days. However, never has he been sheared this aggressively -- and unevenly -- even when matted, at any other grooming spot. Our dog was clearly shaken upon his return to us, and still is exhibiting signs of stress and pain more than 24 hours after his haircut. If any concerns arose during his appointment we wish the shop had called us to let us know they could no longer cater to our dog rather than return him in this condition. Although we found the front desk staff to be accommodating and friendly, and really wanted to love this place, unfortunately the service our dog received was unacceptable. read more

So based on my first review which I rated one star the owner called me to further discuss which I appreciate. They picked up my fur baby and dropped him back off. I was also offered a complimentary bath which... I said okay too. I was expecting a confirmation text or call the day before which did not happen. At 9:11am Jeter calls me saying that they will be to me by 12pm. My original appointment was at 930am. I stated no that is not okay since I will not be home. He then asks if I wanted to reschedule without providing a reason my original appointment was not being kept. I said no I want to keep my original appointment which was 930am. He then abruptly told me ok they will be to you at 10am. Now the person who bathed fur baby was completely a sweetheart. Super personable. Which is why the additional star.
