Yes Rodger talks Politics, and you may not Agree with him... Well, I come for a hair cut not marry into his family~ And I agree with 1/2 of the things he says & Disagree as well... Again, I come for a hair cut, not marry into his family... Duh~ Those who Bang this Awesome Barber's Ability are lairs, because they disagree with his politics.

You can tell he loves what he does and genuinely cares for his clientele. The interior of the shop is very comfortable. There is a large flat LCD television on the wall with satellite (usually tuned to a mellow music channel) surrounded by large overstuffed leather seating. It's almost like hanging out in your dad's living room with a barber chair off to the side. Mr. Michelle's nickname in town is "the politician" because of the time he spent serving as a state representative. He has a wealth of knowledge about the state and local government and is always happy to fill you in on the current goings on. If you are looking for a great hair cut, by a real life BARBER (not a hair stylist) then look no further. Even after moving 60 miles away, I still make it a point to drive back each week for a haircut. He is worth the trip.

As someone who has extremely thick hair, I am very much careful with who touches my hair, because…read moremy hair is a diva! I am part SubSaharan (despite people trying to say to me otherwise) and so because of that my hair has a tendency to snarl since it gets into tightly wound curls. I had asked my stylist (Angie) to do a long layered cut and to do a "Protective hairstyle." Somehow, I felt like the vibes were off. Although it no doubt looked amazing the first day, not even a week later my hair is tangling the same exact way as before I had gone to her to get it fixed. Say what you think, but the last photo is immediately after the appointment and these other three are the photos of what she had done to my hair a couple of days after my appointment. (My hair is definitely not made for applying heavy heat like that!)

Meraki did a great job! This was my 1st in-salon cut and color in over a decade which means I was…read morein my 50's when I was last seen by a professional. First, they were almost on-time (I waited less than 10 mins after entering the salon and considering the fluidity of the process they were great). Mark cut my hair and the colorist (whose name I cannot recall - chalk it up to my old age!!) handled the dye process. The cut was well done - I only wish I had asked him to take a bit more off the top - which I mentioned on my way out and he offered to put me back in the chair on the spot but I declined - I wanted to test-drive his work to see how I felt. Then the colorist took over. I wanted the darkest blue dye job they could offer. They covered ALL the bases - all the way down to how my color would process as all my hair is white except for the back of my head which is medium grey, meaning that there would be different shade of blue, based on the existing color. I think they noted this so that if I wanted it to be uniform I would need to start with a bleaching. This was not needed as I was fine with the color this first time, but once again, they were keenly focused on customer satisfaction. The dye job turned-out to be a bit lighter than I had hoped-for, but because we had discussed it beforehand I was not surprised and was (am) satisfied with the outcome. I was also told that if I wanted a deeper blue I could return in 2-3 weeks and do another round of color which would further deepen the tone. In the end I tipped each 20-25% tip on half the total charge. Were I not disabled and retired I would've tipped a bit more, as each took very good care of me. So, long story short, the salon was great and the service was great, not only because they did a great job (which both certainly did) but moreover because they made it clear that they wanted to ensure that, and every point between my arrival and my departure, I had the best customer experience they could possibly offer...and at that they succeeded 100%!! I will DEFINITELY be returning in the future and they fully have my complete recommendation to others looking for great hair care and a Grade-A customer service experience!!
