At first, this company was fine and seemed very helpful. I was a little annoyed that they don't answer phone calls and only communicated through email, but it wasn't a deal breaker. The deal breaker came after the wedding when my guests all told me that the bartender was never present and they were unaware of half the drinks that were available because our sign had been turned around. The mock-tails were also reported to me as watered down and warm. When I confronted them about these concerns I was left hanging for three days with no response. I only received a response after I contacted them for a second time and the response was rude and took no responsibility for the issues of the day and instead passed all the blame to us. Despite it being our wedding day, they complained that no one greeted them when they arrived on site (sorry? Brides are a little busy on the morning of their wedding. Maybe you should have asked one of the dozen people decorating or asked the venue coordinator with the questions you had instead of electing to do nothing?) They also were angry that we had asked them to serve drinks instead of pre-filling the drinks as we had discussed before. I explained to her that I had been asked about serving drinks the morning of the wedding and I had no idea that it was a problem. It was never communicated to us that they were not staffed for that service. Communication seems to be hard for these folks. We would have been fine to just have drinks pre-poured and had people pick them up as needed if they had just told us.
And, the big finale, we were told by many of our guests that the bartender was not at the counter when they went up for drinks. Their response? A PASSIVE AGGRESSIVE ALL CAPITAL LETTER PARAGRAPH SAYING THAT THEY NEEDED BATHROOM BREAKS AND A DINNER BREAK. That's fine. Please, by all means, take a bathroom break and have dinner. We all need to pee and eat. We understand that, but I'm sorry, the wedding was 6 hours long. How many times do you have to urinate?
Bonus fact: they tried to use the fact that my husband tipped the bartender against us, saying that if the service was so terrible why did we tip them? We were unaware of how bad the service was. We only knew after the wedding when many of our guests told us how bad it was. So thanks Bar Express for trying to use a kind act that my husband did for your employee against us in your response to our concerns. Use caution with this company unless you like being disrespected and ripped off. If that's your jam, these guys are perfect for you. read more
