This place has loads going for it, and deserves to be better, but it's like a black hole that sucks all character and personality away.
The staff are always very friendly, and do everything they can to make you welcome - if you're a regular they'll remember what you drink, and the boss is friendly and affable (They get their 3*'s alone).
With all this going for it The Bank should be a rocking establishment, but it's not, and it's a real shame. Perhaps if it sold better beer? Perhaps when it was converted to the pub (it was surprisingly enough a bank in a previous incarnation) they incorporated a kitchen?
I love going there, and it deserves support, because everyone there is working really hard with what seems to have been a great idea for a pub, just badly thought out and designed. read more
