Fresh, juicy, flavorful burger and the onion bhaji truly was the cherry on top. Fairly quick service and pleasant experience from the stall at Camden Market. Will definitely be trying more of Baba G's menu next time we're back in London!

AH Baba G's, you are a street food dream. Indian-inspired food made into American-styled meals…read more They serve up burgers, sandwiches, fries, chicken nuggets and more but with Baba G's unique flare. Today I opted for the Tikka chicken nuggets (£5) and the Masala fries (£3). The food is made quickly and fried fresh in front of you. The chicken is rolled in a tangy tamarind and plum sauce, it is, in a word: delicious! They are large, tender pieces of meat, slightly crisp and full of moisture. Now to the fries, oh the fries! This has to be their signature dish. Again they are fried and mixed with spice. They are then topped with mint-cumin riatha and mango pulp. I am an absolute sucker for mango chutney and anything that goes with it so for me these fries were a dream - crispy, fresh indian infused goodness! I wouldn't recommend if looking for a healthy snack but if you're looking to indulge in something high fact and fully tasty this is your stop in Pop Brixton! The only reason I have docked them a star is due to the server. Sadly he was rather rude and grumpy - it costs nothing to serve with a smile and a bit of enthusiasm but I received nothing, not even with my Friday glee. A shame but the food is fantastic so food stars well deserved!

Even though your okonomiyaki options in London are limited, they're still strangely plentiful compared to the USA where the embrace of Japanese food culture is much more codified into life; it's still strange to me that during the last 30 years the Japanese cuisine that took off was sushi instead of ramen and all things izakaya. But here in the UK capital you have Abeno, which is good but takes itself a little too seriously for what is supposed to be the most casual and customer-focused of dishes (the translation is basically "as you want it"), and Jeux Jeux which is solidly meh. Okan sits right inbetween and feels as close as you can get to eating the famous dish in Osaka. I don't want to stretch that comparison too far but squint a bit and suddenly you might imagine for a moment you're eating in the middle of Shinsekai instead of Brixton. You can order your okonomiyaki as western as you like it (take out all that seafood, add the cheese!) and it'll still be just as delicious if you had ordered something closer to the spirit of the "nation's kitchen". Vibe is good, food is good, people are pleasant. Recommended!

I guess such goodness comes from cooking the same item over and over, until it gets to perfection. The okonomiyaki here has a good balance between salty, tart, sweet and savory, without anything too overpowering. The portion is quite generous and well executed. Personally, I found it to be quite authentic Japanese street food. Service is super friendly and attentive, even though it's essentially a food stall. It's easy to tell why this place was able to expand to several different locations in London. Good job!

I first thought how beautiful and fetstive it looked with the christmas trees and lights and snow everywhere. I would never have expected it to look so magical when really you are on top carpet shop between 2 railway tracks in Brixton. The attention to detail is really impressive. We ate delicious pizza from crust conductor and drank hot mulled cider which is my favourite. They have a pretty solid cocktail list too. i'll have to go back and try them all but the flora dora was a delicious gin cocktail. People were also walking around with barrels of punch which looks fun. It's warm which I was glad about as it's on a rooftop so didnt know what to expect. The best bit has got to be the shows though. I loved the lively cabaret with the sexy girls in stripy stockings who got everyone in the mood to party before the DJs came on. We ended up staying to dance until they closed at midnight! I'll definitely be back soon.

Further up there is another area which is covered which has the food and drink stalls. Food is good especially the pizza from Crust Conductor and the sticky toffee pudding from Pastry Girls (so so indulgent). There is also lots of mulled wine including the Jagarmeister mulled wine which is amazing! There is also a whisky bar which serves pricey cocktails. However I think a fiver is too expensive to charge to get in when the entertainment is average and you have to pay a decent amount for food. Especially when the weather is Rubbish. Rain honestly ruins it so my tip would be to not book until you know the weather - or don't go at all as the 3* rating is for the yummy food only which you can get at their pop ups!

They have the standard Nutella, lemon and sugar fillings, but we decided to go for the salted caramel option for a change. The lady manning the crepe pans was very adept and efficient. I cringed a bit as I saw the amount of butter go into our crepe compared to some of the earlier ones (hint : the butter is the root of the salty taste in their salted caramel), but it was oh so tasty in the end. I heavily recommend the salted caramel crepes, but I have to warn you that they are a little tricky to eat when on the go. We constantly had sticky caramel squirting out with each bite (it was too yum to be content with just nibbling on it) Fortunately, the washrooms are right next to this stall, so you can wash up the mess on your fingers, face and tshirt. I just fancied a savoury crepe that day and so ordered the spinach, garlic, egg and cheese crepe (La Potagere. Everything about it was perfect and worth the garlic breath it left me. The crepe came out thin, eggy and bouncy. The stall holder seems to know what she was doing, being quick and skilful with the hot plate and throwing in the ingredients. The spinach was fresh so I could still crunch into it but cooked enough to be seasoned by the garlic. The addition of egg and cheese just held in that warmth and extra flavour it needed to make it the comfort food you need on a cold day. Delicious!
