I've used this garage several times by booking through the SpotHero app. Normally it's affordable and convenient, with easy walking access to bars and venues nearby.
But my experience here late at night was very disappointing and unsafe. After leaving a venue after midnight, I found that the elevator lobby doors were locked. When I tried to enter, I saw an employee inside the lobby. Instead of opening the door or calmly explaining what I should do, he just started yelling at me through the glass. I couldn't even understand what he was saying, and he eventually waved me off with a disgusted look. The courteous thing would have been to open the door, explain the situation, and point me in the right direction so I could safely get to my car.
Instead, I had to figure it out myself, trying another locked entrance before finally giving up and walking up four stories of the garage ramp alone. As a woman walking by herself in Philly after midnight, this felt unsafe and incredibly unprofessional. If I had been disabled, it would have been impossible.
I understand they may lock doors late at night to keep people from loitering inside, but this practice puts paying customers at risk. The PPA needs to provide clear late-night instructions or have security staff available to ensure safety. Until then, be aware that if you park here after midnight, you may not be able to access the elevators and could be stuck walking the ramps back to your car. read more
