The best garage in the city, hands down. The staff are great, both when dropping off and picking up. And while other garages always seem to have cars backed up into the street, Latimer never does. Make sure you pay attention when pulling in, they'll direct you where to drive up to. Leave your window rolled down and the key on the seat or dash. I have been parking at Latimer Garage for years and have always had a good experience...until today. The person that I usually see who works in the cashier's booth (in his 50's and wears a baseball cap) wasn't there today. He's a really nice guy and is always very pleasant. There was a young guy (dark hair, beard) who was there today. I asked him where the guy with the baseball cap was. This kid was so rude and obnoxious that he should be fired. Instead of telling me that he wasn't there today he became really rude and condescending and asked me if I saw him there. As he was giving me my change he asked me again if I saw him. This kid was really combative and really needs an attitude adjustment. I told him that it was nice talking to him and to have a good day and walked away. He still wouldn't let go and called after me and kept calling me "bud." He was a real tough guy standing in the enclosed booth. He couldn't have looked more pathetic. There were other customers at the garage and he was equally rude and condescending to them. There is absolutely no excuse for this kid's attitude. read more

If you have to come into Center City via car (which I don't recommend), I do recommend this garage. The staff is always courteous, the attendants prompt in fetching the car. Rates are very competitive. Make you know the drill: park where instructed, leave your keys, and leave the driver's side window open. Don't forget to take you receipt. I was having dinner at Prime Rib and decided to park at the Latimer Garage. For the Rittenhouse Square area, the rates here are great. It is only $12! First, getting in and out is very easy. You just leave your keys in your car, give the attendant your name and you are out. When I came back the attendant knew exactly what car was mine and before I knew it, my car was already downstairs! The transaction was quick and easy. Even though my wait was short, Latimer Garage had some seats and a vending machine available to make your wait enjoyable. The staff here is also very nice! All the attendants were professional, polite and courteous. The usuals here seemed to have a good bond with the staff. When leaving, the valet wished me a goodnight, which I appreciated. We initially started keeping our car at Latimer Garage temporarily whe the parking garage in our bldg was being renovated. We liked Mr. Tom and his crew so much we decided to keep it there and opened up a monthly account even after renovations were complete. It feels good to know my car is safe there and that the guys know us (and our dog) when they see us out and about. Do not trust what you see. We searched for a good parking garage and latimer garage came up as one of the better ones. I'll start by saying whenever we park in a garage we always take full pictures of our car so we can do a before and after check of the car condition. When we dropped off everything seemed fine and the garage looked trustworthy. However, when we went to pick the car up there were a couple of people waiting for their cars in front of us, this seems normal until the boss starts complaining about how his employees can "lose not one but two cars in ten minutes". Once the employee came back the boss proceeds to yell at him in front of everyone. Our car comes, and we give a tip, then as we're ready to drive off we notice we have a decent scratch completely through our cars paint job, which wasn't there before in our pictures. :( thanks latimer!!! read more

Excellent parking facility and very reasonable. They are very careful with your car and they retrieve it very quickly. I was with my grandsons, Larry and David, and they loved the place. Reminded them of the "olden days." Little Ivan loved it too. He tipped the attendant $2, with my money of course. Tip: They only accept cash! So, you need cash or you won't get your car back. As we were about to leave the car, one of the valets pointed out some paint/scratch on our car. He gave us a good tip of using non-acetone nail polish remover to get it off the car. I am not one to ever post a review, however I feel the need to do so after my experience at the Latimer garage today. Keep in mind while reading this review that I am a 55 year old woman. I pulled into this garage this afternoon while in town for a doctor's appointment. Upon pulling in I observed a sign which read STOP HERE. I stopped briefly, not knowing whether to remain there and wait for an attendant or just stop to be sure there was no traffic coming from the opposite ramp. After a couple of minutes I though perhaps I should proceed since there was not an attendant standing close by. After all, the sign did not indicate to remain there. So I proceeded up the ramp. Apparently I was supposed to wait for the attendant. Ok...my mistake. I understand. Maybe I should have waited just a few minutes more. But I proceeded thinking....ok...maybe there is no attendant and I should continue up the ramp. Then I hear the loud scream of the attendant. HEYYYY!!! Whoops. I've already proceeded up the ramp. Now I have to back down the ramp. But ok...it was a mistake. Said attendant is still yelling. I understand his frustration at this point. This could get tricky. I'm about to apologize for not understanding completely that I was supposed to wait. Said attendant begins to scream at me. Unfortunately when someone screams at me I scream back. I simply will not tolerate being spoken to in that manner when I simply made an error in judgment. The very first thing he says while screaming at me is "Can't you read the sign". Of course I can read the sign. I was just unsure of exactly how to proceed. And I said this to him in the same exact voice with which he spoke to me. VERY ANGRILY. He then continued verbally abusing me, calling me an idiot and telling me to get out and to never come back. AS IF I WOULD EVER CONSIDER DOING THAT WITH THE ABUNDANCE OF PARKING GARAGES IN TOWN. He said he was about to back my car out for me but not now since I was screaming back at him. I was yelling at him to never speak to customers that way. And YES...I CALLED HIM AN ASSHOLE. AFTER ALL, HE WAS!!! He replied he would rather be an asshole than an idiot. And again, he reminded me to never come back. Now, understand I take full responsibility for my mistake. And had he been a little more understanding and treated me with a little respect, I would have apologized. Yes,I made a mistake. I get it. But it was an honest mistake. He didn't give me a chance to explain. I'm very sorry but verbal abuse is never a solution to a customer simply making a mistake. I'm not sure if this person is just an attendant or has a connection to ownership of this garage. If he is not an owner I would love to speak to the owner about this. However I am not sure what good this will do. If anyone has an idea please let me know. I was absolutely shocked at this treatment and only responded with an angry tone because of the way I was being spoken to. AGAIN...VERBAL ABUSE SHOULD NEVER BE TOLERATED. NO MATTER WHAT! I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH!!! Ironically, after leaving there, I called the doctors office to say I might be a little late. They informed me that if I parked in their designated garage my parking would be validated. (IT WAS NOT THE GARAGE I JUST LEFT). All that for nothing!!! Literally don't ever go to this garage, this place legitimately sucks. All they do is try to make money off of you. This was my first time here. The instructions were unclear and when I came back to the car they charged me 25 dollars for not leaving the keys. The staff there told me with a condescending tone that they specifically told me to leave the keys before leaving. When I first got to the garage, there were so many customers they were running around and murmuring instructions that I BARELY UNDERSTOOD. Recently discovered this place on a weekend night in the city. We got extremely lucky with stumbling upon it. Parking in this area (Rittenhouse) is insanely expensive. This garage is very reasonable, something like $12 for the night. You just pull up your car to where they tell you to and leave the keys in for them to park it for you. I don't drive into the city often, but when I do I like to park at Latimer. It seems to be the cheapest garage around. Parking after 5pm is only $12 as long as you're back before 2am. Most places close then anyway. I don't like leaving my keys but my car is always there when I get back!! :) The guys that work there are friendly and try to retrieve your car quickly. CDC just said no masks required for fully vacinnated people (which I am!!!). The man working today at 4pm behind the window would not get my car because I didn't have a mask on. He had a mask on and insisted I put mine on because HE wasn't vaccinated!!! I told him that is why he has a mask on!!! This is Blake F.'s own personal parking garage and I do realize that by reviewing this right now I am doing my dear friend, Blake F., a total disservice. Everyone will know about this secret spot and everyone will go there. Too bad. I don't really drive downtown much, I walk, ride a bike (on the rare occasion that I find the temperature agreeable AND am wearing pants) or I hop on the bus. And when I do drive downtown, it's usually only for a quick run in somewhere, long enough to stay parked on the street in a regular paralell spot. If I ever had to park in a garage, however, I'd probably park here. It's in a secret location (if you consider "SECRET" a side street in the middle of the busiest few blocks in this city) and their prices are decent. There was no waiting around, no line of people waiting around, no grumpy guys in windbreakers, none of the bad things typically associated with parking garages. Although they didn't move Callan W.'s seat back up. Is this a move impossible for valet parkers/parking attendents to execute properly? Swing your legs out and move that shit forward. It's just polite. Anyways, I'm giving this place four stars. Park here. BONUS: If I'm not mistaken, it's spitting distance from Philadelphia's own Gold Club. Park here, go there. read more

I hate when i have to leave my keys with the attendants but it is what it is I guess. I would prefer street parking but that's not going to work down there. No damage to my car so I'm happy. Highly recommend this garage if you're staying in or near City Center. It's $18 for 24 hours, which was the best price we found in the area. A cranky old man runs this garage, but it adds to the experience and he takes care of your car. It's all valet so you leave your keys with them. We had a positive experience with them. I found this place on Yelp (for once) when I was looking for cheap garage parking in the area. It was a good call because it turned out to be incredibly rainy that night and taking care of my PPA obligations would have been quite depressing in that weather. Latimer was such a good choice--great nighttime rate of $11, which is a total steal for Rittenhouse. Just make sure you bring cash. An absolute must or you aren't getting your car back. Like many of the parking garages in the city, it's not self-park, which I don't prefer. But I could deal with it because all of the attendants were fairly polite. I had a lot of random stuff in my car that night (which I usually put out of sight in the trunk if I'm leaving the car somewhere) and everything was still in the same place when I returned, so this seems like a fairly safe garage to use as well! read more

I worked for a year at the Medical Tower down the street in Rittenhouse. It took me a few months to find a good, reliable place to park my car and happened to stumble upon this garage. I wish I would have found it sooner! The guys who park your car are great, they remember all of their regular customers and make an effort to take care of your car. I've never had any scratches or bumps on mine from there. Sometimes if one of the guys saw me coming down the latimer street after work my car was ready and waiting already! And you can't beat $15 for 12 hours of parking. Definitely recommend this garage. Don't forget to tip the guys, they work hard. Oh and it's cash only. read more

I asked him why because the sign says differently and he says to me that he was pretty sure i was there for more than an hour which I wasn't because i had a quick doctors appointment around the corner. Horrible Garage/Thieves. I was there on Friday and placed my ticket and $20 on the counter to pay my $12 rate. I looked down briefly to secure things in my wallet and saw a quick movement out of the corner of my eye. When I looked back up my $20 was gone and the attendant then said I owed $12. I told him I had just placed $20 on the counter and he denied it saying I didn't and needed to pay the $12. He would not let me leave until I gave him $12, on top of the $20 that was just stolen right in front of me. for those days when i'm not fortunate enough to find a free spot on the street, or when i intend on keeping my car parked in the city all weekend, i drive on over to latimer street. hidden on this glorified alleyway between 15th & 16th, locust & spruce is a wonderful gem of a parking garage. it is considerably cheaper than at least 2 other garages within that 1 block radius ($15 for 24 hrs compared $20 at the others) which, when you park in center city as often as i do, really adds up! i only wish i knew about this place sooner as i spent a good few months forking over way too much $$ to another garage...the worst part being that for all that dough, the service was awful! even if i called ahead, it took them at least 20 minutes to get my car on a weekday morning. not so at latimer! once an attendant has picked up my ticket, it has never taken more than 2-3 minutes for them to pull my car up. and these guys are friendly, too; they always hold the door for me and close it after i sit down or open the backseat doors if need be to accommodate my bags. even when they are getting slammed with the evening theater rush, they are quick, courteous and efficient. i realize that they keep costs down by being cash only, but my drop of one star comes because i do miss the convenience of being able to use my credit card. it's definitely worth making a trip to the ATM compared to the other local options, that's for sure. read more
