This is a review for today 08/26/2017. I love the diff pools, the lounge, the set-up, the view, my treatment and therapist. HOWEVER, the only reason why I'm giving it 3 stars instead of 5 was due to the main hostess lady at the beginning and end of our spa day. Everything inbetween, for the most part, was fine. I felt that my friends and I (4 of us in total) weren't treated extremely well by the hostess. She gave us an extremely brief tour (unlike other tours where everything was shown), AND attitude when we asked questions. Mind you, we just got there, we weren't rowdy or late to our appointments. I'm not sure why she was giving us attitude. Also, when we were done using the spa amenities and doing our treatment, we began utilizing their lounge to get ready for our dinner at this resort. While we were changing, doing our hair and make-up, the hostess and another lady came in, said "wow, there's a lot going on here," began cleaning and moving the towels around. Although we understand the need for cleanliness, but it was a little rude to start cleaning up while guests are still in the room and it wasn't dirty just so they can leave early (we were getting ready to leave 1.5hrs before closing). Another thing to note is that they automatically charge 20% gratuity without notifying you; which should've been stated from the beginning especially since we were only a party of 4. You just notice when you receive your bill. It's not that I wouldn't have paid that much, but I don't particularly like that I wasn't informed and that they just did it without my permission or acknowledgement. I'm probably not gonna come back because of this. I don't like why the hostess treated us differently than other guests (which we did see) but it's very disappointing. read more

You can blame Hailey, I believe her name is, for this less than 5 star review. One of your front desk receptionists. Our experience was exceptional otherwise. I loved my massage therapist, by far the best massage I've ever had. My sister and I came in for a massage, body scrub and hair treatment and after relaxed by the pool. We placed an order for food and wine with one front desk girl which was forgetten about after we asked what was going on 1 hour later. She apologized and said she would take care of it right away. ANOTHER hour later as I was literally through the door to ask about our food order Hailey was on the phone placing it! I politely asked how long it would be since it's been 2 hours and with her bratty attitude she told me that "the restaurant was busy and she couldn't do anything else about it." And gave me a dirty smirk. My sister and I waited another 40 minutes until our food arrived. I then asked the waiter, "Is it busy in the restaurant today?" And he replies, "Not at all, I just started my shift so we'll see how the day goes!" That's funny because Hailey told me "they were busy". We didn't spend nearly $1,000 to have anything less than a perfect experience. read more

Came here two days in a row while staying at the Auberge Du Soleil resort. The first day (yesterday) I came in and the guy at the front was nice, but no tour, no nothing...and the first thing he says is "make sure you use the facilities between your facial and massage because we are closed after your massage". Wait...my massage is SUPPOSED to end at 6:30 (more about that but I'll get back to that later) and the spa closes at 7. OK I think to myself, whatever. My facial starts at 2pm and ends at 3:30pm. My massage and body treatment do not start until 4:30. The facial was OK. I had an oxygen facial, but of the 90 minute service, only about 15 minutes was spend actually using the oxygen facial machine. Much of the time I was just laying there. She did massage my hands for a few minutes, but she was clearly not trying. Probably 5 minutes max. Oh well. Anyhow, after the facial was over, I go back to the lounge. Already they have taken the snacks and put them away. Mind you, it is only 3:30pm. So I sat there hungry waiting for my massage. And as I'm in the lounge, the guy at the front desk starts bringing in all the towels, and chair pads. As if they were closing down. I really wanted to go outside...um he knew there was still a client using the spa....but I guess he didnt feel I was important enough to worry about it. So no steam room, or whirlpool for me...my two favorite parts of visiting a spa, LOL.....so now the massage and body treatment..first off, she didn't do any sort of intake...didn't ask me what areas I wanted focused on etc....she was nice enough but I don't like it when they get up and crawl on you etc. I don't like it at all. I have aspergers and I am extremely sensitive about having my personal space violated. At that point I couldn't enjoy the rest of it which was mediocre. So when it is finally over, I realize it is only 6:00..it was supposed to be 2 hours. That was only 90 minutes. I go back to the locker room and begin to get dressed meanwhile feeling I'm almost being pushed out of there. Like they all wanted to go home and were shooting daggers my way as every second I stayed there, was a second longer before they could leave or something. As I'm halfway dressed, the massage therapist comes in and says "oops, I'm so sorry....it was supposed to be a 2 hour treatment, i read it wrong"....really? I have a strange feeling she knew exactly what she was doing. They adjusted the bill but did not offer any sort of apology and made sure to make sure they charged me in a way as to get the highest dollar amount. They could have charged me for a 90 minute massage, but instead they charged me for a 60 minute massage and 30 minute scalp treatment add on, even though it was not my fault. Seriously do they all turn into wolves at night so they need to get the heck out of there before they start to turn??? Unacceptable. So today I had another body treatment and massage with someone else thank goodness. She was actually pretty good. And this time i actually got to go outside and imagine my surprise to realize there were actually 3 whirlpools and an entire area of the spa I didn't even know about!! Well, I suppose since NOBODY TOLD me, it makes sense that I didn't know. I will say that the outdoor furniture desperately needs to be updated. I also should note that in the locker room, the garbage was filled with trash that I had thrown away the previous day. So apparently they don't empty the trash cans every day! Also, no sauna. Only 2 steam rooms. Also bring swimwear because the wet areas are all co-ed. Was this a 4 or 5 star spa based on my experience? NO way. Not based on my experience. Average. If you want a true Napa Valley spa luxury experience, go to Meadowood. read more

Horrible customer service experience by main hostess at the front desk that wore all black - my visit took place on 8/26/17. Reasons why? - instead of feeling like a customer they appreciate, she made me feel like I am intruding her space and providing inconvenience to her. - while we were getting ready in lounge to eat at the restaurant at the resort, felt like she was rushing us to leave and kept cleaning around us. She said "a lot going on in here" - she never told us in the beginning to be cautious of our voice during intro/tour. While we made a bit of noise taking pictures, she came over to tell us there are people in the massage rooms. Felt like we were in school. There were 4 of us getting massages and none of us heard any noise when we were getting treated so we know she was just being a biatch to us. Because of her, I will not come back again. Masseuse was very nice and special. This bad review is all for one bad seed in that bin. read more

First off this is a review of a specific therapist, Magenta (like the color) was an amazingly talented body technician. I have had many "deep tissue" massages but today I had a real, clinical DEEP TISSUE massage. A massage with Magenta is not for the faint of heart but if you have tight muscles anywhere she will find them and take them down like an MMA fighter (which she could clearly be if she chose but I'm happy she was a masseuse today!) My muscles have not been stretched, manipulated and readjusted like that ever. Elbows, knees and knuckles produced myofascisl release after release. Although at times I felt more pretzel than human, she worked out kinks so far below the surface I didn't know they were even there. Her knowledge of anatomy and her willingness to literally climb onto you (including kneeling on your sacrum) yields incredible results. Thank you Magenta for an incomparable massage! As for the spa itself, it is well located with beautiful views and two co-ed steam rooms, a cold plunge, warm plunge (perfect photo ops) and hot Jacuzzi. The waiting rooms are comfortable with plenty of snacks, water and tea. The Auberge purification ritual with chlorophyll water is a great way to cleanse. If you are staying at the Auberge du Soliel or nearby, do yourself a favor and visit the spa! read more

The Main Hostess/Manager is quite rude and arrogant. Her manner lacks grace and extremly unrefined which reflects poorly on the establishement. It tainted my experience so much that I will make a point of not returning. I noticed others have made comments regarding her poor customer service and it appears upper management has not taken this seriously. The Spa itself is lovely, and the view is spectacular. The Massage rooms are large, clean and refined with a lovely decor. There are two nice steam rooms, a large cold plunge, a large warm pool and a very small hot tub in the far corner. The hot tub was a bit of a disappointment due to the small size and the bush/hedge blocked a bit of the view and defiatley could be trimmed back or taken out all together. My massage was medioce as well. The therapist had some nice technique, but was inconsistent in her pressure. She also talked a lot and I was not able to fully relax. My friend was also dissapointed in the Massage she received. As well, she was told on the phone that she would have a male therapist and upon being greeted was given a female therapist. We loved the view, but other than that, we won't be back. read more

My boyfriend's sister recommended Auberge so we were pretty excited to stay there. We are both well traveled and Auberge is the nicest place either of us have stayed. It exceeded our every expectation. Everything about this place is top notch luxury. The whole experience was perfect. The attention to detail exceptional. The service is amazing. The villas are amazing, our view was breath taking. The pool is beautiful, the spa is serene and I wish I had spent more time at the spa. I had a massage and it was great. There are 3 dipping pools with the infinity edge overlooking the mountains. Breakfast was great. And the kicker is, Auberge has 4 mercedes that they loan out on a first come basis! We were lucky enough to take out an SL convertible each day we were there. The concierge, Molly, was amazing. She was very helpful with recommendations and with scheduling our wine tour and our driver. Auberge is worth every penny and we cannot wait to return next year. read more

This review is for the spa. We did a couples package on a Sunday morning at 9:30 am (opening) with Christina and Tina, and it was the best spa service my husband and I have ever had. There were so many small details they anticipated and captured, and they both did fabulous deep tissue massages (not the pressure massages many therapists do). We stayed and enjoyed the steam room and infinity pool for hours. You get what you pay for - it is higher than most resorts, so you don't have a crowd and have good amenities. I recommend booking early in the day and staying until you have thoroughly relaxed, they are happy to have you enjoy. read more

SPA: For those of you born in the era of the Brady Bunch, Mary Tyler Moore Show, and Carol Burnett, you will remember the desperate cry of a "desperate" housewife pleading "Calgon, take me away!!!!" in commercial ads. Calgon promised comfort, respite, quiet, and complete restoration all in one little box of bubble bath....Today, we have re-defined, if not refined the meaning of "take me away..." At Auberge du Soleil, it is an art form. You are immediately transformed when you get there--it is simply magnificent (oh proud a californian I am!)--the hillside, vineyards, foliage, its own micro-climate--clean, crisp air with a hint of olive. And then the treatments! A Garden Head-to-Toe--a full body massage where they slather you with all the herbal oils, salves, lotions that leave you glowing and soft to the touch. Even your hair follicles are smiling! And you can't leave there without having at LEAST a facial. Martha, my aesthetician, was so genuine and beautiful that I thought: "this is what heaven must be like!" ALL the amenities are there and then some.
