Waiting for the show to begin on a Saturday night
    Steve P.

They have live stand-up comedy 5 nights per week, which is impressive! I think we saw all local comics on this Saturday night 8pm show. There were about 12 comedians (estimated) that had somewhere between 5-10 min each, with a host riffing in between an introducing each. It was a lot of fun! The show we saw was free, but a suggested 2 drink minimum. We honored that, as it was more than worth it! I felt like we got a deal, getting a couple of normal-priced drinks, with live comedy for nearly 2 hours! This is no fancy comedy club. It's the upstairs of an old building in the old East neighborhood. Advantages: Plenty of free street parking and the building has character! At the top of the stairs, the bar is to the left and the stage and seating are to the right. Most seating gives a great view of the stage, but I could see if you were further back and off to the side of the stage, it wouldn't be as good of a view. The bartender was friendly and helpful and glad to serve up the drinks. Several of the comics were hanging in the bar during and afterward. A good positive, communal atmosphere. Great night out for something a little different, support local comedy, and see someplace new! I'd love to come back again.

I Attended the Pride Month Set on 6/21. This is a smaller club that is upstairs (some very steep steps) and is very quaint and almost trendy. The audience, staff and comedians were respectful and super funny. Bartender handled the drinks well and margarita was good outside of the brown limes. First time at the attic and I am excited to visit more! Great price for a great set, and a great time. OSTERIA the pizza joint next door has pretty tasty pizza if you are looking for something to eat before or after the show!

It was my first time at the Attic and it did not disappoint ! If you've never been to a comedy show before this is a great place to start. It's small but it's a great environment. Full bar on the other side of the stage room. The service was fine, kinda slow but there was a lot of people. Can't wait to go back!

My friends and I had such a great start to our weekend here! We came last night to see Erik Scott. We all had a great time!! The playlist was perfect, the vibes were there, a great mix of people that were all respectful! It's right next to Mikey's Late Night Slice which is super convenient you can have 2 drinks at the comedy club and pizza downstairs! The comedy club has many signs that suggest that each patron order two drinks minimum. The drinks were a little pricey, but it's not the end of the world bc you're there to have a fun night with friends. I hope to be back soon!

The attic has a cool comedy club feel, really embodies a New York club in Columbus Ohio. They put on good shows and always has a great turn out of comics for open mics. The club is above a Mikey's Late night slice so you can grab a bite to eat. They have drink services upstairs and downstairs.

This venue for comedy is amazing! My fiancé and I had a freaking blast. Just the whole ambience of the place felt really neighborhoody and really welcoming. The comedians were hilarious! They're not afraid to break down the barriers and boundaries of comedy which is what made comedy so popular in the first place. We live in a world now where so many people get offended and I just felt like that was not the vibe here. The comedy was free and open and it was just hilarious. It has a cool bar and a really unique atmosphere for comedy that is quaint and cozy.

    A great experience

For our visit, they were showing the silent version of The Phantom of the Opera with a live orchestra. This was our first visit to this theater so we got there early to look around. There is a convenient parking garage located directly behind the theater and if you remember to ask, they will validate your parking ticket for $2.00 (we did not remember to do this so we paid $11.50 for three hours!!). They were showing this film on Halloween night, which was also a Friday night, so the University District was hopping! It was fun to walk around and see all of the costumes and various parties going on before heading into see our movie. Since this was a special showing it cost us around $55.00 for our tickets, but we ordered them in advance and were able to pick the seats we wanted. They allowed everyone inside the theater 15 minutes early, so there was quite a long line waiting once we were near the theater door. We saw others carrying soda and popcorn, but couldn't figure out where the concessions stand was! We were barely able to figure out where to find the bathrooms, so we gave up on the popcorn once the door opened for the movie. Once the door was opened, we went in and found our seats. Very comfy seats!!! We sat in the fifth row, so the screen was higher than our seats, but oh so cozy. The show was fantastic, the live orchestra did a smashing job! Very enjoyable visit!!

This time Gateway and the library are offering free "book to film" screenings all summer with your library card. Not too busy on Sunday mornings. Great staff. Basic snacks and drinks, plus alcohol. Good picture and sound. Parking discount at the garage, and on Sundays usually street spots nearby for free.
