A few days ago, I saw a pair of white pants I liked in the window display and decided to stop in. When I asked if they had the pants in a "Large" size, the older woman working at the time (who may be the owner) looked at me and my body and very sharply (and rudely) said that this store is a boutique. She explained that if their store carried sizes larger than a size 10, it would no longer be considered a boutique. If the goal of this store is to leave potential customers feeling humiliated and shamed for their bodies, then I'd say they're doing a great job. Please shop at any of the other, actually inclusive, boutiques in Cocoa Village - in the case of our little town, one bad apple does not actually spoil the bunch. (And a quick side note: when my daughter later left a review on my behalf, it was removed for not being a "firsthand experience." They had a decent music section and I was able to find two piano books for like .60 cents, not bad at all. My brother-in-law is an avid reader and literally cleared out a shelf of books they had of one of his favorite authors. Mom and Nancy found some items on the cheap as well. The store has a lot of clothing, kitchen, household items, tools, and jewelry available at a great price and the items all seem to be in great condition. Staff were really friendly. I had a dear friend who was hit by a drunk driver and we were doing a benefit to help her and her husband and two little boys out during her very difficult recovery. Two broken femurs, a broken radius, ulna and shattered knee. We understand not every store can donate every time someone walks in their door. That's not what made me leave and swear I would never give another dollar to your store again. Other stores were not able to donate as well and I have gone back to shop in them. There was however a lot of store in the village that did donate. The reason I have never walked back into your door was how you, the owner treated and spoke to us for even asking. With a raised and hostile voice demanded to know if you knew this person we were fund raising for personally and why would you want to donate to someone you don't even know? A simple, I'm sorry I cannot donate at this time, but I hope your friend gets better, would have been the decent human thing to do. I will never forget how you spoke to us and with no empathy towards the fellow human being, my friend since childhood. You got to go home that night to your family and be blessed that you were not crippled and could no longer run your store, but that lady you said you didn't know personally and was the reason you would not donate,has still not recovered and will never be able to work again. Count your blessings but you will never receive a dime from me or a recommendation to shop in your store. Why am I reviewing you after a year from this humiliating and horrific response from you? I stumbled upon your page and the memory of you and how you spoke just hit me hard, especially when I saw on your page that you do charitable events.
