This shop always has amazing deals and it changes daily. The volunteers are extremely helpful, it is extremely clea, and you never know what treasure you might stumble upon. I got a NEW with tags men's Hugo Boss cashmere blazer for $6.00! I've found excellent power tools, furniture, and other items. Go check it out! Make this the place to donate. The proceeds truly go to feed the needy. read more

The Ascension Catholic Thrift Shop works in partnership with Ascension Social Concerns, a non profit staffed by volunteers. Their mission is to provide food, clothing, rent, utilities, medication, gas, and tuition to their school to anyone in need in the Melbourne area. They operate a large food pantry next to the thrift store. I stopped by to check out this thrift store during a recent trip to Melbourne. Parking is tough and I had to wait a few minutes for a spot to open up. It was well worth the wait because the store is quite large and neatly organized. Ascension Catholic Thrift sells gently used furniture, collectibles, clothes, bikes, shoes, accessories, books, movies, records, home goods, games, toys, art, small appliances, and more. Christmas was half off and they had ornaments for only $1. They had a number of televisions plugged in and operating which I don't usually see at thrift stores. Prices were more than fair, selection was vast, and the volunteers were friendly and helpful. In addition to the support they provide the community they are also keeping items out of the landfill and offering discounted items to people who might not be able to otherwise afford them. This worthy organization is a great place to donate, shop, and volunteer your time to. read more

Well I stopped by this thrift store yesterday afternoon before they were closing and saw a piece of furniture that I liked for $100. I took photos of the ticket and thought I would sleep on the purchase. I got up the next morning and went back, right after they had opened. When I went to get the ticket I noticed it was now $200, they wouldn't budge at all even thought I showed them this photo and explained. The female manager on duty would not do anything. It was a to bad so sad for you situation. Was told that if I want it now it's the full $200. Wow and you call yourself a Christian thrift store. Nothing Christian in that at all. Will never shop here again. I understand that it's for their charity but geezzzz! read more

I had a very disappointing experience at this thrift store. While I was breastfeeding my child, a volunteer was extremely disrespectful and made me feel very uncomfortable. She followed us around the store, stared at me, and smiled while repeatedly implying that I needed to go somewhere else. Breastfeeding my child is completely normal and legal, and I should not have been made to feel unwelcome or ashamed for feeding my baby. I hope management addresses how customers--especially breastfeeding mothers--are treated in the future. read more

Lighted sign on the door says OPEN. Store hours posted on the door say open till 3pm, website says open till 3, however truth is: they lock the doors and turn off the lights at 2:45. Went there to donate and arrived at 2:45.....CLOSED, DOORS LOCKED , LIGHTS OFF..., employees leaving.......wasted a trip read more

Update: this store is now closed on weekends. This makes it tough for people who work during the day to shop there.

The volunteers were all polite and helpful. Seemed to be very happy working there. Good grade of merchandise with great prices.

Always find quality items at this location, I can spend a lot of time here looking at all the items

Ohhhhhh do I hate giving a good review on my special thrift store but, this place is a gem. First off, the ladies who work there are just as sweet as can me! TRULY. The store is clean and I usually find a fun item. This review is short and sweet because that is what it is like shopping there :) KEEP UP THE LOW PRICES AND I WILL KEEP COMING - read more

Short version: Organized, amazing, definitely worth a stop. TWO big drawbacks. 1) prices are written on masking tape, which is then STAPLED to clothing; prices written with Sharpie on many items - including sterling silver. 2) cash only More detailed version: This is without a doubt the most organized thrift shop I've been to in my entire life. Random greeting cards have been divided into categories! Men's, women's, children's & infant's socks are in separate bins! Shoes stay organized by style & size! Linens are actually sorted into twin, queen, and king. Most merchandise is very accurately priced. Some items are priced as a group (all belts same price, all socks same price). Everything else is individually labeled depending on condition. The furniture section changes frequently and is fairly extensive. The most plentiful type is normally living room & den furniture. Washers & dryers are occasionally present. Pretty good selection of books, VHS tapes, albums & craft items. Ribbons, bows, felt, stamps, paints, and scrapbooking supplies are all in their own compartments. They always seem to have walkers, wheelchairs, scooters, specialty toilets and canes. There is a separate room just for utensils/kitchen tools, as well as an individual room for glass/crystal. Enormous array of hand-knitted (crocheted?) afghans. All electronics are tested before being put on the floor, and customers can test in-store as well. Volunteers are plentiful & helpful. Dressing room & restroom available. *Best thrift shop air conditioning in the local area.* Free, day-old bread from Publix is offered to customers until supplies run out. Most breakables are out of reach of children, with the exception of the scanty hardware 'department'. Accessible by cane & walker. A narrow wheelchair might be able to reach some areas of the store. read more

This is one of my favorite thrift stores. I have come out of this thrift store with beautiful glasswear, vintage pieces to include a camera, cuff links, some necklaces and a few brooches. Both my mother and I have also purchased wonderful, quality pieces of furniture as well. They also have a great variety of items. I definitely like checking in with them almost weekly just to check their furniture pieces. It's definitely a great resource. Their prices are more than reasonable and the staff is always willing to help. Keep in mind, they are not open on Sundays or Mondays. read more

Great thrift store! Lots of furniture, shoes, clothing, toys, glassware... They've got just about everything! Only took away a star because, well, cash only is a bummer, man. No credit or checks accepted here. Easy to stay on budget, I guess. read more

Very clean and well organized. easy to find what u are looking for. they accept debit cards. Not sure about credit cards or checks. Its best thrift store i went so far read more

The people that work there take first dibs on the items that are donated to them for others and lie about it. We used to go in there quite a bit, but will never go there again as my fiancee went to purchase washer/dryer set that was not sold as it was in the back, they told him to come back at 9 am, then told him it was sold. It was still in the back. With no sold sign on it. read more

Why do Catholic thrift shops have the best stuff and the best prices? Love this store. Books for $0.50. Not as poor friendly as they could be, as they close really early. How is a poor single mom supposed to shop here if they're only open when she's working? I deducted a star for the crappy hours. read more
