That's pretty steep for valet but I ate that cost because I didnt wanna feed the meter or walk Hollywood streets solo. I ordered the Ceasar salad with anchovies and they gave me a loteral dead fish on top of my salad. I took that home for my English Bulldog. Service is quick, staff was nice. I got blankets towards the end of the evening because I was cold. I spent close to 200 for my parking my Golden Lady drink and salad. Yes, it was expensive. Music was mid. It was more background noise than anything. I don't see myself coming here again. But, it was a nice time. read more

Pros: Good location- I felt like I was able to get to every place I needed easily, whether it was around the city or getting on the highway and driving further outside of LA Friendly Staff- Every staff member I interacted with was pleasant. They always welcomed us back with a smile after being out for the day. Clean Room- Room and bathroom were clean. Amenities- Though our schedules didn't allow us to take advantage of the hotel amenities, I appreciate how many there were. Cons: Staff communication- Simple information like WiFi or how to access housekeeping and front desk was not communicated (not on phone). Staff responsiveness- I asked for extra towels and never got them. I had to remind the front desk. I ended up getting them the next day. I want to highlight how incredible the staff was when an unexpected situation came up. For context: I parked in a public parking lot next to the hotel that I was told would be ok to double park in. Important note, this lot has no official affiliation with the hotel (which I didn't realize at the time). Unfortunately, later that night my car ended up being completely blocked in, and when I went to leave, I wasn't able to get my car out of the lot. I went back to the hotel pretty stressed, and Mike and Daryl truly went above and beyond to help me. They took the situation seriously, helped me track down how to contact the owner of the parking lot, and stayed with me until everything was sorted. Thanks to them, I was luckily able to get my car out and I'm incredibly grateful for their care & patience. Just a heads-up for anyone visiting The Aster, only use the hotel valet or street parking. Do not park in nearby public lots, even if they seem convenient. read more

Stayed last weekend at The Aster with my beloved. We went to The Hollywood Bowl in Saturday night and I wanted a nice place to stay afterwards so we didn't have to drive back to OC. This place was wonderful!!!! The room was delightful and comfortable, so clean and full of light. I loved the view of the Capital Records building from our room. The service is amazing at the desk and in the restaurant. We had our delicious breakfast on the 5th floor. It was sunny and beautiful, full of foliage. My omelet was fantastic; the coffee was great. Chris, at the front desk was professional and helpful. We will definitely be returning here to stay when we come for Pantages shows and Hollywood Bowl nights! read more

Watch out. They're sharks. I booked the hotel for four nights and pre-paid. The event in LA got cancelled and I wanted to cancel my stay. I spoke to the person at the front desk. He advised me that they couldn't cancel it because it was pre-paid. I thought that was hotel policy and figured I'd have to eat the bill. However, I went back and checked my statement and found I had only been billed for one night, initially. So, I had only pre-paid for one night. They then charged me for the remaining three nights after I had requested the cancellation. So, I shelled out about $2,000 for a hotel I never stayed in. That was about as low as you can get. Lesson: don't pre-pay and don't trust what they say. read more

I went to a party at the Aster last month, and it was a pretty nice spot, especially for a rooftop bar in Hollywood. I guess the Aster is some kind of members only boutique hotel, and the rooftop was pleasant and attractive, a great venue for a private event. I forget what exactly I ate and drank. There were hors d'oeuvres going around, as well as an open bar, and I had either a slider and a couple of watermelon margaritas or something more or less interchangeable with the above. The food and drink were solid, if I suppose not memorable, and service was quick. I didn't know anyone at this party (maybe the first time in a decade I'd voluntarily gone to a party alone) but ended up having a good time. It was a fun little Hollywood scene and I enjoyed the drinks and the rooftop view. read more

Bill Prather the Food and Beverage Club Experience Manager is a fantastic soul and running this place to perfection! Over 1K entertainment industry folks were here for the Infinity Festival and they had it nailed down from drinks to food to cleaning to service to speed and so on. 5. Beautiful pool area reminds me of Italy France or EU in general. 6. Bathrooms on each floor for easy access. 7. Public transpo both bus and train are close 8. 101 Freeway is near 9. Hollywood Bowl and Hollywood and highland is a quick bus ride away 10. Souvenir shopping is close, Melrose or Beverly Hills or Garment District shopping is a uber or car ride away. 11. Shake Shack, Katsuya, and other food nearby 12. The Avalon, Palladium and other historic HW venues are near. 13. This is a member based hotel so be sure to ask what is off limits unless you're a member. Eg food and theatre on the 5th floor. Think SOHO house vibes 14. It is very discreet from the street snuggled between The Avalon and the parking lot on the corner of Vine and HW Blvd. There's two forest green doors to enter from Vine. Swanky vibe. 15. The rooftop is fantastic for some vacay in Hollywood type photos as you have the Capitol Records building right behind you. Very surreal I will 100% be making this a spot to frequent with out of town guests or for business meetings. read more

You're in the heart of Hollywood and you have The W Hotel on one end and Capital Records on the other. The rooftop restaurant is so delicious and the rooftop bar makes the best drinks. The lounge area here is unlike any other rooftop bar that I've been to! This place is EMACULATE and I absolutely love coming here! Words almost can't describe this place. But, hold my dirty martini with blue cheese stuffed olives, I've got this. "The perfect getaway, right in the middle of everything." This restaurant is located on the rooftop of the member's only boutique hotel, The Aster, right in the heart of Hollywood. Upon arrival, parking can be difficult in this area, but if you advise the parking attendants in the private driveway that you have dinner reservations, they'll find a place for you. Parking's not cheap, but then neither is anything else about The Aster. Entering the hotel on the ground floor, the space is brief and completely sophisticated. Subdued with warm tones, you immediately feel transported to another place, maybe an old world establishment. But you get into the incredibly comfortable and well appointed elevators to go up to the 6th Floor for the restaurant, and you know you're in sexy, trendy Hollywood. Arriving at the top of The Aster is a historian and architectural buff's dream come true. Immediately you're up above the city, surrounded by some of the more historic architectural gems the city has to offer. Old Hollywood. Across the street from the Capitol Records building, everywhere you look, reminders of periods past surround you and feel like they're curated just for you. When the elevator doors open, you actually land in the bar area, which is a total plus for anyone. So make your way past the bar to the host stand across an open air pathway toward another covered area with beautifully dressed tables and elegant table lamps providing ample light and just the right ambiance. A table of 4 set to celebrate our anniversary, we were seated at the perfect banquette seat that offered views of the skyline and the perfectly positioned kitchen, placed behind a glass and polished steel wall so polished it gives you the sense that every detail is considered here. The staff and service was also polished. Every member had the timing of a precision instrument, but with warmth and personality. When we ordered a wine that was reported to no longer be available, the sommelier came by to inform the table and present a suggestion for a substitution. In the end, our server came with the originally requested bottle of Aventura Malbec Los Chacayes Sur 2019 by Kaiken. What a treat. It was "perfection." We joked with our server that she must be stashing the good stuff just for her guests. We ordered Bread & Butter, Bougie Chips & Dip, The Aster Meatballs to start, and you should too! I can personally guarantee that you will be so happy. But if you try something else, I can almost guarantee you will be happy too. Rich and unique flavors are present in every bite. For dinner, the table saw two orders of the Short Rib Rigatoni Pasta, an order of the Seared Dayboat Scallops, and I ordered The Ultimate Steak Frites. Everyone really enjoyed their dishes, but I'm almost certain that I was the winner of the 'best selection award' with the Steak Frites. Just a blending of some of the most sumptuous elements (panca bearnaise, turmeric brown butter, and burnt lime chimichurri) are all graced with an unexpected side of a full head of perfectly roasted garlic. Yeah! I think I've found a new favorite. I'm already looking for the next time to make a reservation. Not to mention getting my colleagues to join me at the bar. This is the place. Enjoy! read more

The valet conned us into paying more money for our car, yelled at us when we were confused, and generally was unreasonably rude. The restaurant was hot and mediocre and the decor is giving 2017 cornball money laundering scheme. Super do not recommend you'll do better anywhere else. read more

There are a rooftop theater and another theater inside. They schedule shows daily. You can grab a popcorn bag provided there and enjoy a show. I enjoyed food as well. Beautiful hotel but terrible acoustics. I went to an event here on the 5th floor and I couldn't hear the people who were standing next to me. I have excellent hearing. Why can't restaurants and hotels put down things like rugs to dampen the noise bouncing off the concrete. One of my colleagues tried to order a dry martini and the bartender got it wrong, in addition to her waiting 20 minutes for her drink, making her miss out on the event. read more

Less than a month ago we came and had a lovely birthday dinner before seeing a the show at the Pantages. Parking was validated to $20 after spending $200 on dinner. Tonight they apparently are NO LONGER giving a validation discount for parking. So my recommendation is park in the lot next door. In addition, Paris at the front desk was extremely rude, entitled, and dismissive with his response of how this change happened in the past 3 weeks. Sadly, we will no longer be choosing Lemon Grove and the Aster as our pre-show place to go. Too bad management has decided to get greedy and not take care of their patrons. read more

While waiting in the lobby the efficiency and great customer service I observed with Param was truly exceptional. Just in my two minute wait he rebooked transportation, gave area recommendations, helped with luggage, and even played with a visiting puppy. I always loved the vibe and amenities that the building the Aster has to offer. It was not long ago I was a member of the h-club, which is now where the Aster is. Unlike the h-club I can say that there has been a vast improvement in the food and would recommend the rooftop and restaurant Lemon Grove. The two stars come more of the bad experience I had with the front desk when I checked in for my room. I wish i could Remember the name of the person who welcomed me into the hotel but all I can remember is that he was from India. When I arrived this man seemed annoyed at my presence and even the little questions annoyed him. After checking in at 9am I asked if I could do early check in since I had previously made note of it. I knew it was all depending on availability but I still wanted to give it a try. However this man said no and kept repeating that check-in is at 3pm. After explaining I did ask when booking he said he would call me if there was a room available. I left for a meeting and came back at 12:30p. This time I tried again and this same person and this time he was exasperated and rather than saying there any availability or not told me that if I wanted early check-in I would need to pay $100. I don't mind but I wish his attitude was not as mean and 2nd would have loved if management or the website would have a note about the early check-in cost. Thats all to say I hope the rest of my stay is better than it has been so far ... read more

We celebrated a birthday dinner at the Lemon Grove - and you do not need to be a member to enjoy the rooftop restaurant and AMAZING views!!!! Our host Jaylen was fabulous and made us feel welcome and special. The food was delicious and the presentation was impeccable. Los Angeles has some great restaurants but this is a fabulous experience- both from an epicurean standpoint and the views that transport you to an urban oasis. This hotel and restaurant should not be overlooked. Its a must-see and experience. I loved this property so much that I asked to meet with their event managers- Isabel and Bianca, who are absolute professionals. Terrible service, completely out of body wash all week, took hours for room service and hours for anyone to answer the phone downstairs. In room dining service was wrong 4 out of the five nights we stayed. Only one person works front desk and is in charge of everything. Paint fumes in the hallway from them repainting the hallways. Let me start by saying that I am not (yet) a member of this social club. I have enjoyed delicious food and cocktails at Lemon Grove on the roof and hope to visit this neighborhood spot regularly. What prompts this review, however, is the absolutely lovely treatment we received yesterday. We were hoping to bring some out-of-town friends to the rooftop when we found out that the bar and restaurant are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Dasmin, a staff member at the front desk, made sure that our visit wasn't in vain and so graciously took us to the roof so our friends could enjoy the breathtaking views. Thank you, Dasmin! Bad service. I was at an event at the rooftop. They insisted on taking away the food from the table when they don't see anybody around it. I left my bag and glasses next to my food when I went to the get some utensils, and my food was taken away. Second time around, to avoid the problem, I actually told the waitress I was going to the restroom and would come back, and she took it away regardless. The same waitress in both cases. When I confronted her about it, she just said it was the rule. No apology. Cannot be considerate even after a request. read more

I'm writing this review after booking a ticket for a Juneteenth event at the hotel. The DJ (APIWE BUBU) charged people for a free rooftop event (no one was checking tickets or regulating who was in this space). When we tried to ask a hotel manager for clarity or assistance in this scam (I call it a scam because that's what another employee referred to it as), he was very dismissive saying he doesn't have anything to do with the DJ hired for this hotel. We literally had to ask him for the contact info to another manager. They gotta do a better job at vetting people that they partner with because I def won't be going back and ima let the people know that the staff is not helpful when there's a concern regarding their venue and have no desire to help even point us in the right direction of who we should speak to.
