    Chickens all over the farm
    Shannon S.

The Art Barn is one of the greatest assets to our community offering education on farm animals, gardening, field trips, special events, play dates and amazing family nights! Donkeys, horses, chickens, pigs, goats, ducks and even unicorns can be seen thorough out the farm. Hayrides, Trick or Treating and Santa visits take place during special times of the year. Farmer Sue is an entertaining and marvelous educator. The farm is easiy to get too. There is plenty of parking, an educational barn where art and gardening classes take place and port-a-potties on the property. We just love bringing our friends, family and kids to as many events during the year that we can attend. Everything is always affordable! Being able to interact with the animals and the friendly staff is our favorite. Farm time is the best time!

I just moved to the area and this place was suggested to be the kids must visit place and it definitely didn't disappoint me. One could make a lovely morning out in the farm with kids . 1. They have a free hay ride 2. The paid pony ride was definitely a highlight 3. My son spent a lot of time petting the goats, sheep's, donkeys 4. The girls out there are very helpful and knew how to keep the kids engaged with their ample information about chickens and goats and sheep. 5. They are very well organized and accept only a few number a day which makes sure that the farm is not over crowded 6. They have a spacious parking lot. I would definitely keep coming back here for some farm fun. My kids had an amazing day.

What the world needs now is Farmer Sue and The Art Barn at Morning Glory Farm! The happy menagerie of friendly, gentle farm animals (most of whom were rescued and are now living their best lives here) love to be pet and groomed by guests of all ages, and the enthusiastic Farm Chicks (and the one and only Farmer Sue) love to share their farm spirit with you! We had our daughter's birthday party here (all outdoors and very safe during COVID times) and can highly recommend The Art Barn for private events, play dates, and field trips! Our party hostesses, Farm Chicks Rylee and Katherine, were SO MUCH FUN and kept things running smoothly! We had lots of time in the barnyard with the animals before pony rides, a watercolor art lesson, a hayride, and a magical visit from Gypsy the unicorn! We loved everything about our experience and know we'll be back again and again!

The Art Barn is such a wonderful place to spend the day, or celebrate a birthday. My family has been there on a field trip, celebrated my daughter's birthday there, and attended a playdate the during the week. Each time, our experience has been nothing short of amazing. My girls love Farmer Sue, and all of the animals at the farm. Her staff goes above and beyond to make sure the kids have fun, learn a lot, and create great art. The animals are very well taken care of, and they are all so great with the kids. The kids can go on pony rides, and the hayride is great, too. They sell honey made by their own bees, and farm-fresh eggs that are the best I have ever tasted. We celebrated my daughter's sixth birthday there, and people still talk about it. They say it's the best party they have been to! We plan on returning many times, and encourage everyone to make the trip to see Farmer Sue at the Art Barn! I can assure you that you'll want to return again and again.

Ask the Community - The Art Barn

Would this be fun for a 2 year olds birthday?

yes. ages 2-3 are learning their animals and sounds - so it is perfect. Parties are private so your child does not get overwhelmed. staff is super kind and caring and helpful while engaging party friends and family with the animals.

Visited here recently for my niece's birthday, and it was quite an adventure to say the least! Took…read moreus about an hour and half from the Cumming area to get there. We bought tickets online and they had our name and feed purchases ready when we pulled up. Greeter gave us our buckets and explained the rules. We were probably one of the first cars through, so the animals were sort of hanging out far from the road. First animal we see is an emu in the distance on my niece's side. We are so focused on looking at that one and trying to get her excited, that I didn't even notice one had sneaked up on my side of the car and literally stuck his head in the window and grabbed feed from the bucket on my lap which startled me a bit which then proceeded to startle my niece...and that essentially set the tone for the rest of our time there. Next we came to the zebras. We were warned that they were a little pushy and had teeth like donkeys. You're taught to hold the bucket outside the car, but they pushed themselves inside the window (on my niece's side of course) and kept trying to grab the bucket, which just ended up dumping half of it into the car. We also saw some quiet, polite deer in the woods as well as some antelope in the distance. Next, we saw some llamas (or maybe alpacas). They too are a little pushy, but not as bad as the zebras. I think one even stopped at my window and smiled to pose for me to take his picture before he helped himself to another half a bucket of feed. Then we get to the camel. All prior animals were able to literally get in our car. The camel is inside a pen thankfully....He comes to the edge of his fence and we pulled close enough to where I could hold the bucket out my niece's side. He immediately grabbed the bucket from my hand, held it over his head to eat it, then dropped the bucket on the ground. I'm thinking I have to get the bucket back because I don't want to get in trouble. Problem #1 is, the first rule is to stay in your car at all times. Problem #2, some of the emus have now followed us and are quickly approaching from the rear. I climb into the front passenger seat, open the door, grab the bucket and quickly get back into the car. Meanwhile, the camel has moved on. He got what he wanted and had lost interest, figuring he would just wait on the next unsuspecting victim in the next car. We pass some water buffalo and the longhorns and a couple of highland cows. An ostrich quickly runs up the road in front of us so we can't get away. He helps himself and seemed a little more polite and pretty than the emus, so I let him snack. Eventually, we found the parking area and petting zoo. Mind you, there are signs telling you not to pet them or feed from your hand...but still call it a "petting zoo." Fed the goats and a huge pig. Made our way to the giraffes and someone shared some lettuce with my niece so she could feed them. She didn't love it, but didn't freak as much. Then we go to the aviary. We had bought three sticks with sticky seed on it, all of which I was carrying when we entered. I think we walked into a Hitchcock movie.... Parakeets swarm us the second we enter. Land on the sticks, our arms and my niece's head. That went over well.... Tried to direct her attention to the pretty birds and bright colors. Figured we should just exit quickly so we did. Went to gift shop where she bought a stuffed highland cow and all was well again!

I apologize for…read morethe long review but want other parents to be warned and understand our experience so that they can make an informed decision about where they send their children, especially infants. While our son only attended the school for a total of 8 hours, it has been nothing but less than favorable interactions from the initial drop off. When my husband and I arrived to drop our son off, the assistant director was on what sounded like a personal telephone call discussing another parent complaining about her. After waiting there for 5 minutes, she got off the phone, and did not know who we were or why we were there. We explained it was our son's first day and we were there to drop off. She walked us to our son's classroom where we met his teacher. Walking into the room, there was a single teacher getting bottles ready while 5 infants sat on the other side of the gate area, several of which were whining/crying. Most of the lights were off and the room is crowded and dark. The teacher said hello to me and my husband and asked me about our son's feeding/sleeping routine. We asked if we could help set him up in the room, which they allowed. At no point during this interaction did anyone say hello or welcome our son. We ultimately left him in the room playing with toys while the teacher continued to get the other children their food. Not once did we see her, or anyone, acknowledge our son before leaving. It was so discomforting that both my husband and I considered walking back into the room and taking our son home right then. I reported this to the director that morning around 10:00am. She apologized for the experience, explained it was an off morning and that she would talk with the assistant director as well as the teacher. When we picked up our son at 11:30am, he was exhausted, and had clearly been crying a lot. Upon our son's return to school, the second drop off was better. The following week, our son attended his third and final day at school. When I returned to pick up my son, the school director, Michelle, was also in the room and the teacher was holding my son sleeping. They informed me that my son had hurt himself while crawling, resulting in a bloody lip and scratched nose. On my car ride home, I called the school and asked to speak with Michelle director about what had occurred so that I could understand better. Beth, the assistant director, explained that Michelle was on a tour so I asked that she give me a call back after the tour. After two days and five telephone calls/voicemails, I finally was able to get in touch with the school director. At no point did anyone return my phone call or call to see why my son was absent after an incident at the school. The incident itself was not an issue, as I know babies will get hurt as they learn to crawl and walk but it was how the school handled things following the incident that was the problem. Sunbrook Academy advertises itself as a safe and nurturing place for your baby to receive loving care and learning experiences. The Infant Care Program is committed to making the first transition away from home natural and easy for both child and parent. Our experience was anything but that. After several weeks of back and forth with the regional director or Cadence, I was finally able to review the video of the incident involving my son. It was as described but the whole ordeal left me very disappointed in the school and how they care for children. I unfortunately have heard more horror stories about this school over the last few weeks and had I known any of this prior to enrolling our son, I would never have let him attend this school.
