We stopped here for an event and swung by at the downstairs bar to catch up afterwards. They had live music going and the restaurant was doing well with a mix of families, couples, etc. While the menu is a little pricey, the ambiance is great. We grabbed some drinks (wine, beer, bourbon) and fries with wings. The fries were good if not a little overly salty but perfect for what you'd like with drinks. Heard the espresso martini was not worth the price tag and the pineapple was a bit off-putting in it. Staff were friendly and quick to grab anything we needed. We also asked after checking out the venue space and were able to get a quick tour from one of the managers. Very cool space with a lot of events going on. read more

I had the privilege of seeing one of my favorite artists here in April 2026. The concert was upstairs. There were positives and negatives. Positive: * The venue is a beautiful building near some fantastic food, I enjoyed and recommend The Bay nearby. * Security was legit, a guy in front of me had overstuffed pockets and security wouldn't let him pass even as he complained and tried to socially pressure them into letting him through. That made me feel very safe. * The bathrooms were very nice, although I don't think they had any upstairs that I could see. * It was cool being close to the artists, upstairs is a smaller venue. Negative: * The audio was rough. There was a Lot of feedback and I felt bad for the artists (opener and headliner) as I watched them try and navigate it. One of them said something like "great new venue, right?" And someone in the crowd shouted "doodoo!" which was funny but also captured the frustration of the crowd that we couldn't fully enjoy the performance. The artist tactfully replied "we're breaking it in." It was ridiculous to see audio and staff people walking around with headsets trying to look legit with these issues going on. All of this distracted from the experience and made me angry. I wouldn't schedule as an artist for the upper venue unless I knew the audio issues were resolved. read more

Argo is located where the beloved Fox Bay used to be. My husband and I made many great memories with our kids there, I was hoping Argo could be a place to create new great memories. Unfortunately, I don't see that happening. We went with friends for the Friday fish fry, and the overall feeling was disappointment. For one, it cost over $50/person. That would have been acceptable had anything been exceptional, but the fish and coleslaw portions were small, and my husband's fried fish was extremely dry. I took a bite to try it, and after only a few chews wanted to spit it out. For dessert, we tried the Wally Waffle Sundae. The chopped nuts were minimal, and the ice cream tasted like they poured the caramel and chocolate sauces over it then (as my friend commented) flash froze it. It wasn't soft at all, but instead you could taste ice crystals. The layout and color choices here are interesting to say the least. Seating is red metal bar tables and chairs, light wood tables for 4, and a blue fabric winding couch with small black round tables. This is after going through security. So be prepared to be scanned, spend some money and experience a rather eclectic setting. read more

Attended a Yelp Elite event at the Argo after months of being curious about the buildings transformation. The last time that I was here was almost 17 years ago when it was still a movie theatre. It's been completely transformed into a bar, a stage room and a private rental space. It's a great addition to North Shore nightlife. We tried their catered food, and I really enjoyed the pulled pork sandwiches and custom cocktails. read more

Beautiful place as it's the old fox bay. But it's but recently renovated and is absolutely beautiful! Food, cocktails and a venue all in one location. I love bathrooms and theirs didn't disappoint but the air fresheners they have are so budget and give a dive bar smell. It was weird. The staff were kind and friendly and gave great service. The ballroom is beautiful, the chandeliers are stunning!!! The balcony is also so cool and the seating is classy. Loved this place. read more

Okay very jazzed about this new venue in the northshore! It was created primarily as a concert venue, but also has a bar and kitchen to be enjoyed (regardless if you're going for a show or not). A group of us had tickets to see a show recently, but were sure to arrive early to grab drinks and check the whole place out. Love the decor and overall vibe- they did a great job! We grabbed cocktails from the bra and sat in the lounge for a bit before heading into the music hall. Will definitely return to try the food and enjoy that space on its own. We were very impressed entering into the concert space, too. Very spacious, but also intimate!? The acoustics were perfect, and as someone who is a fan of standing-style concerts, this was great. There is however VIP options with spots to actually sit down, and a balcony-style space that I'm sure offers a great birds-eye-view of the stage. We noted though, with the stage at a perfect elevation, there was no bad-view. Overall such a unique and beautiful venue brought to Whitefish Bay. I'm excited to see what more shows and events are to come! Definitely check them out. read more

The Argo has a lounge problem. My friend and I decided to check them out for a happy hour outing on a Thursday, drawn in by the live music and burger "specials" they advertised. We grabbed a booth seat, after the hostess offered us a dining area table or other seats where we could see the musicians better. We wanted to talk so we didn't care to be next to the band. The joke was on us, because when the music started it was clear they have an acoustics issue - it was overwhelmingly loud for dining, even with a two-piece acoustic group. The server came over and took our order. It's possible they never worked at a bar before, because when I ordered a rum and diet with lime, they asked if I wanted a shot of rum and diet Coke. Since a Cuba Libre is among the most basic of bar orders, I can't begin to process what was going on there. First day? On Earth? Pretty weird. The burger special was not special at all. I don't know what that was about. We decided to try the mushrooms and chips and dip. I have to say I have big expectations of Food by Chef Dan Jacobs, having watched him take on Top Chef. I was excited about the mushrooms, but they were not great. The green goddess sauce tasted extremely "green" and fresh, but while it appeared to be a dippable portion, in reality it was a shallow film across the bottom of the small ramekin, where you could drag your mushroom and get a hint of it. The mushrooms, while very crispy, were lukewarm and many of them were extremely salty. They made me sad and mushrooms are among my favorite foods on the planet. The chips that came with the dips were plentiful and crispy. The spinach dip was pretty hard and solid when my friend first tried it. It was better after the stirred it up and loosened it, but it seemed to be just barely thawed out. I thought the onion dip was okay, but she felt it had a weird taste. Not hitting it out of the park. After we paid our bill and gathered our things to leave, someone else came over and said if we wanted to check out the ticketed show upstairs, they had opened it up to non-ticket holders. We were curious to see the space so we went up. It's a nice space, but it was a sad scene. This was a nationally recognized country band and there were perhaps a dozen people in the room. To make the band feel better, I suspect, they let us up, but I'm sure the paying ticket holders didn't appreciate it. I'm glad The Argo is there. I want them to succeed and I'm a chef Dan fan, but this is not a winning proposition at the moment. And for a man who prided himself on his innovative vegetarian dishes in competition, where's our sandwich? What if I don't want a bowl? Or chips? I'm sorry, but the Argo still needs some work. Seating for dinner was not comfortable. Food was over salted. Service was fine. Music venue is standing only. I don't want to stand for an entire concert - ever. You would also have to hold your drink. No ledge, nothing, big empty mosh pit. Just my own opinion, others may feel this is ideal for them. I was hoping, Not for me. read more
