This store has such delicious apple products. We always stop by on the way back to Austin from Lost Maples. There was a cute fall-themed area in front of the store. The apple wood smoked bacon burger was so tasty and a very reasonable price of $9 for the high quality. My friend got the ice cream and didn't like it because it was too sweet, so I ate most of it. It was good but definitely VERY sweet and tasted strongly of cinnamon. The turnovers and other pastries were great too. The line for the restroom took about 15 minutes as there are only two, so that is my only issue. read more

Everything in here is self serve. Even during COVID-19, which is a bit concerning. The staff is not wearing masks and many of the customers were not wearing masks. The interior is really small and even though they encourage social distancing, there's really nothing that encourages it other than some signs. No markings on the floor. Regarding the ice cream, it was pretty good but very icy and less creamy than I expected. It was more cinnamon flavored than I anticipated (I thought it'd be more apple-y). Employees are extremely friendly and this time they had multiple signs asking that you wear a mask. Once you walk in, you will buy something made of apples because the smell of apple cinnamon will easily convince you to part with your money. They also have many other apple products such as jam and even apple-themed home decor. We took the apple pie home and they gave us some instructions -- 375 for 30 min. My family lives in San Antonio and we thought our trip to The Apple Store was worth the drive. Opposite of the Apple Store you'd find at the mall, the store has a quaint, homey vibe. However, don't be fooled by its small size because it has so many apple products on the inside from canned apple products to apple-themed souvenirs... Stop by at the right time and you may even be able to purchase a freshly baked apple pie right out of the oven! The Apple Store also has a small restaurant serving your most basic diner food as well as some apple-flavored foods. The only reason I'm docking a star from my review was that they forgot some parts of our order when cooking and serving our food. If the apple pie (HUGE BTW), cider, cookies, ice cream isn't your thing they have a dedicated food trailer and small covered patio in the back serving burgers and the usual suspects on the menu. Food always smells good, but we usually just left Kerrville and will eat later in the day. I have sampled a cookie and purchased a drink for the road here. Cookie was quite good! Maybe I'll skip breakfast next time for a huge slice of pie in Medina on my next adventure. Also, dwarf apple trees are for sale in the front before you walk in. Would love to have one in my yard; just won't fit in any of my small convertibles lol. Small tree still probably weighs 50lbs. Dropped by today to enjoy some sweet treats with my kids. Was disappointed that they were out of pie. There was a good amount of baked items such as cookies, apple turnovers, apple strudel, etc, but as we headed over to the cabinet a man was there grabbing some items. This rude man took most of the items and even pushed my 3 yr old hands out of the way as he was wanting to grab a cookie. Let me preface this review by saying that I'm not much of an apple guy. Besides apple juice and apple sauce I don't usually order anything apple related. So when my wife suggested we stop here to eat I dragged my feet a bit. Once I got over the initial dismay, I was concerned by the dismal appearance of the place. The front of the "house" was full of weird knick knacks galore like something you'd see at your friends grandma's house. Then it flows into a bakery where they're making pies and cookies as well as ice cream and in the very back there are steps that lead you to an enclosed area with tables, no air conditioning and a small ordering counter for burgers, sandwiches and other lunch items. I decided to make the best of it and ordered a bacon cheeseburger as other yelpers suggested with regular fries. A sign clearly states that they make their food fresh and to order so they are not the fastest place by far. With that, we decided to get some desserts and eat them first. My wife got an apple turnover, I got an orange dream cookie and my son got the vanilla apple ice cream. EVERYTHING AND I MEAN EVERY-THING WAS DIVINE. This is one of those places you drive by thinking it's some old crappie run down place just for the locals. And you'd be dead wrong just like I was. This place has some of the best burgers I've had in a while. The buns taste like the fresh made ones with a bit of sweetness at Picknikins that made them so famous. The pickles were more sweet than vinegary and the beef was seasoned well which even some of the finer dining options in SA still screw up. The fries were pretty good simply because they were cooked right and again seasoned well. The desserts were the real surprise though. The orange dream cookie was unique and I loved the texture more than anything else about it. It was cakey and moist and just different than a boring old chocolate chip cookie. The apple turnover was the shining light for me though. Again I HATE apple pie and turnovers yet they made something so good and so pure that even I could not deny it. It blew my mind like no other apple dessert ever has and I've had more slices of apple pie than I care to admit trying to "give it another chance." Lastly the ice cream was pretty good with that first bite but upon further inspection the ice cream tasted like they took the juices from bottom of the apple barrels and Dmitry uses it to sweeten the ice cream more. By doing this (if I'm right) they added so much more complex of a flavor profile to the ice cream that you'll probably never taste another one like it again. It was unique cinnamon-y and oh so subtle with that hint of apple. I apologize in advance for the novel but I felt the need to really write something special for them considering they are most certainly a diamond in the rough and blew every expectation I had of them but life has taught me once again not to judge a book by its cover. read more

This trip we had a hamburger, French fries, a pimento cheese sandwich, & onion rings. The hamburger is always awesome but the pimento cheese sandwich was extremely delicious! As always there are many goods made from apples such as apple butter, jalapeño Apple butter, jam, strudels, pies, soft serve ICE CREAM (5 star), Jelly's, etc. they also have lots of homemade seasoning mixes that you add one or two ingredients to. Definitely worth the drive out to Medina for this place! From what I gather by their signs, this place is known by a couple things- The Apple Store, Love Creek Orchards, or a mix of the two. Its a small little house right off the main road- pretty hard to miss. This place has a gift shop with things ranging from crafty looking measuring spoons, to apple butter. I got their normal burger with apple wood bacon on the SPJ bread. Let me tell you, this bread by itself makes this burger SO good. We had the SPJ burger as well- which really isn't all that spicy. You can't go wrong either way. We liked the bread so much we bought a few rolls from the bakery along with the Apple Ice Cream which is just as delicious. The taste reminds me a bit of the Apple Jacks cereal. The staff is also super friendly, definitely adds to the "small town" charm. Its a charming little tourist stop with with friendly service and most things apple. Have to check out the pastries. I would recommend the deliciously flaky apple turnovers. I would not recommend their apple pies, which are two steps away. They look fantastic but the apples are undercooked and is pretty bland overall. I recently moved to the area, and I had heard that this company is sponsoring the Bacon Bash, which is an incredibly disgusting and abhorrent "event" in which defenseless pigs are abused for no reason.
