For those flying in First or Business, or those with top tier status, the American Flagship lounge…read moreat MIA (near Gate 30) is a nice retreat. The staff are warm and friendly , and there is ample comfortable seating. The food options are disappointing, but Flagship customers also have access the standard American lounge too which sometimes has more appealing food options and everyday comfort deserts (like Brownies, rice Krispy treats or German cake). One of my favorite amenities of the Flagship lounge is the shower suites. I enjoy a nice shower before a long international flight (as well as the Arrivals Lounge in Heathrow for example, upon arrival). At the MIA flagship lounge if you arrive with sufficient time they will add your name to the list and typically a shower suite will be ready in about 30-60 minutes. Aside from the showers, it's really all the open seating I enjoy compared to the standard lounge which can get very loud and busy.

Definitely worth a visit if you are eligible for access. A huge step above the Admiral's Club…read morewhich is right next door. On this visit we had the pleasure of experiencing Flagship First dining which is a private, full-service restaurant within the Flagship Lounge. Flagship First dining exists only in Miami and DFW. The LAX Flagship First dining remains closed. Food and beverage options in Flagship First are definitely a step above the standard Flagship Lounge offerings including Laurent-Perrier Grand Siecle champagne! Many years ago, Flagship First had Krug champagne but sadly no more. The decor inside is classy and chic and service is impeccable and attentive. I wanted to try something small since I knew the flight would have a meal as well. I tried the crab cake which was excellent and the perfect size for a snack. Of course, I had the Laurent-Perrier champagne as well - truly outstanding! For dessert I had the poached pear which was delightful! I also had the Irish coffee, but this was much worse than the one I had experienced in DFW. There was neither a cinnamon stick nor whipped cream because they were apparently out of both. Oh well. First world problems! Anyway, definitely visit the Flagship Lounge if you are able and definitely, definitely try Flagship First dining if you get the chance!

I've been to a few lounges here in MIA and this one is...weird. There's not a single person serving…read moreanything which is about what you'd expect in 2025 but for liquor, I was surprised I served myself bourbon. VIP should be taken out of the name. It's a lounge. It's better than sitting at the terminal. The food is decent enough and you're spending a small fortune for airport food so there's redeeming qualities. I've not seen anywhere to relax, per se. The chairs for the most part are situated for groups of 4 and there's always one person sitting with bags strewn across. Pros: free beer, wine, spirits, and food. Quieter than the terminal when you're a couple of hours early for international. Friendly staff. Cons: those are its redeeming qualities and it's basically a quite terminal seating area. Overall, yeah, I'd want a lounge and this will be one I visit again but to call it VIP and expecting a Delta One experience is disappointing.

The VIP Latam Lounge is a sold three stars. The facilities are clean and adequate, but to attach…read morethe term VIP to anything associated with this lounge is a stretch. The food was good. Not great, but not bad. The lounge was quite busy on the evening we arrived. It was a Thursday and it was about 3/4 of the way full. Good news is they serve mini pints of Blue Bell Ice Cream. Bad news is at some point the ice cream was not kept cold enough so it melted and got refrozen. Another miss was the lack of salad dressing options for the salad aside from oil and vinegar. Really? That's it? I saw other people looking for salad dressing options and dumbfounded as to how that could seriously be the only option. This was especially odd because it was a salad bar situation where you had so many other ingredients to choose from, but at the end you can only dress it with the most basic option imaginable. More attention to detail would have bumped this lounge to a 4 star in my opinion.

This is your typical airport--nothing massive or overcomplicated (thankfully no tram situation),…read morewhich honestly makes getting in and out way less of a headache. I've been flying out of Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport since I was a kid, so I know it well--and it still holds up. I've been through plenty of airports across Florida, and I'll say it straight: Fort Lauderdale and Miami International Airport consistently have some of the BEST flight prices. If you're trying to travel without getting financially humbled, this is where you want to be. Period. Now that I've moved further up the coast, I regret it every single time I search for flights and see the price difference. It's painful. Like...why did I do this to myself? And let's be honest--Florida's gotten a lot more crowded lately, and not exactly in a charming way. But if you can deal with that and just focus on getting a solid deal, this airport is absolutely clutch. And if you're flying international, Miami is close enough to keep your options wide open without too much extra effort. Bottom line: cheaper flights, easy layout, and still one of the best airports in South Florida to fly out of. If saving money matters to you, it's worth the drive. The only downfall is they keep raising the prices for the parking garage. It is ridiculous and I'm thankful I have a girlfriend near by where I can leave my car.

While very easy to navigate, things change nearly every single time I've stopped in, and I'm here a lot. On this particular visit, it seemed like every single person working in customer service did not want to be at work today, and I get it. I'm a flight attendant, I know social batteries can be drained from constant interactions with customers. Anyway, there are ample shopping opportunities, food choices, and plenty of places to sit. But they need to fix the ac, cause it's always hot as heck lol. Otherwise, it's an airport ‍
