Two bins of Lego's over $100. I wonder if they ever sell anything at those prices. They do have a "sale" section. But it's a "thrift" store, why would you have a "sale" section.. I will never shop here again because if he cares this little about customers growing a literal human being imagine how he treats his employees!

So bless their hearts as that saying goes. We headed in to their newer location which was a lot nicer than the other one they had right on 101 a few months ago. We were immediately greeted by a woman in her 60s, I would say, who was folding a bunch of jeans and just up and asked what my husband's size was as she had a ton of these jeans for 3.00 and they were in great condition. The place is not that big but it could possibly have some treasures. I did see some really cool martini glasses but they had a big set and I just did not think I could use all of them and hated to break the set up.

I am always greeted warmly by the volunteers, and strike up genuine conversations each trip. The shelves are abundant but still well-organized, offering everything from home decor to utilities to crafting supplies. Prices are fair and affordable, which is so refreshing amidst the overcharging of big corporations. I appreciate this especially as a college student on a budget. And every purchase I make goes toward the most precious animals! I visit them frequently, too. :) I'm so excited for the opportunities that their relocation and expansion will bring; I can't wait to swing by the animal corner at the front once it's been developed!

Looking for something new, we decided to take a little road trip to Alsea to try Deb's Cafe. We're…read moreglad we did. This is definitely a hidden gem in the country. Driving up, I was surprised to see a small house converted to a cafe with roadside parking. The inside is very rustic with wood paneling and furniture. It's a very inviting environment with humorous signs and old time historical photos. We are greeted as we walk in and take one of the tables by a window. Deb is the owner/operator and she does a stellar job with running the whole show by herself. She was taking orders, cooking, checking on customers, refilling drinks and never missed a beat. I had the bacon cheeseburger with fries. It is served open face with cheese, onions, tomatoes, pickles, bacon and lettuce. The sauce (a mayo blend?) added a nice depth of flavor and made it hard to put down. This has an excellent flavor combination from the cool fresh veggies combined with the hot seasoned burger with melted cheese. The fries are made on site from potatoes on a per order basis. Sliced and fried on demand, really fresh! Then there was the homemade pies. She makes them all herself from recipes handed down from her Grandmother. These pies are huge. I had the apple pie and it came a la mode with a creamy vanilla ice cream. It was cooked well and the filling has a nice thickness to it. A very pleasant stop in a scenic area, well worth the trip!
