I started working out with Rob in March and I can honestly say, this is one of the only workout routines I've really been able to stick with and see results from. It's basically like small group personal training- usually there isn't more than 5 people in a group (normally I work out with 2 other people) so you get personal attention with the benefit of working out with other people. I could try and describe the work-out's but I'm sure I won't do it justice so I'd really recommend just coming in and trying it out for a week or so. You may be tempted to give up after the first work out because it is super hard and probably unlike anything you've ever done before but that's the best part, so don't give up! Push past the first few weeks and you will not only see a difference in how you look and feel, you'll also be addicted! The people that work out here are really friendly and always push each other- don't get me wrong, it can definitely get competitive, but that's good! it just pushes me harder. I'll admit that i was intimidated at first because prior to coming here, my workout's really consisted of treadmills and elipticals plus the occasional spin class so this is a lot different. But, Rob is really friendly and helpful, he'll take the time to teach you each workout/move and tailor the difficulty to you. I could go on and on.... but basically, if you're looking for a personal trainer type outcome at a cheaper price in a fun/competitive setting, you should definitely check out The Alpha Project. Thanks Rob I deal in facts, figures, numbers, applied research, numbers, and patients,peoples lives. I get it, Exercise works. Sticking with it was the kicker. Rob's level of intelligence, the amount of research he puts into each workout makes you want to push harder. Rob brings his A game to each workout. You will want to bring yours. I have also done one on one training, boot camps, trendy gyms, metal bar gyms, spinning, stepping, and so on and so on. This works, 3 days a week, 1 hour at a time. it works. Did I mention I have lost 30 lbs in one year. I should correct that, I did not LOSE them. I burned those frakking pounds off on purpose. I have gone off of the blood pressure meds. My cholesterol is perfect. My Hemoglobin A1c is 5.7. I know AMAZING right::? Rob does not yell, no drama, no atittude. Just hard work. Rob will not expect more than you can do . He will expect all you can do. So nothing half-ass, when you come (and you should) bring it. Stick with it and you will be so suprised with the results. Just so you know, Rob won't be surprised. He will be tracking your stats. He will have expected it all along. The people working out with you, end up being your friends cheerleaders and before you know it, you realized it is fun. I used to work out at the Baylor Tom Landry fitness center doing the same standard workout as most people. Upper body one day lower the next with some cardio mixed in. The same old boring routine with little, if any, results to show for it. In August 2010 I got fed up with the same boring and mundane routine that I decided to give The Alpha Project a try. About a year ago, I separated from the Navy and moved back to Dallas. I was looking for a workout that would keep me focused and motivated. I have tried almost everything from boot camp, yoga, spinning, body for life and trainers. I wish I could say that I was keeping up with my workouts, but I knew better. I felt like I needed an extra push. The first day of training, I was sold. It was a challenging workout. It made me work hard. And, it made me want to improve. THe Alpha Project is the best training I have ever received. I have had 1 on 1 personal trainers, training and fitness group classes, crossfit classes and more. The Alpha Project is by far the best. My weekly results are far beyond anything I have had in the past. Highly recommend for anyone wanting to get in shape. I have to admit, getting back into working out right before the holidays is not easy! But I really like to eat!!!! So knowing that working out with Rob will help me get through it and keep me on track is why I want to recommend this trainer to all my foodie friends. The work out will vary every time ---which is good since I bore easily when it comes to working out. It's amazing how quickly the hour flies by! Don't get me wrong, it's not an easy work out and you will be sore the next day. I LOVE working out at Alpha Project!! I joined back in July after my 24hr Fitness Training pckg expired. I did the one week free class in Laura's classes, joined right away, and immediately had changes in strength and speed. Classes are the perfect combo of weights, cardio, and some plyo. On gorgeous days, sprints and lunging outside the door on the Katy Trail! It's a modern approach to physical training. Classes are small and hands-on, and focuses on the invidual's needs for form and weight. I've lost another % body fat more recently incorporating minor diet changes per Laura's recommendation. The first day I worked out with Rob, I felt like I had never worked out before and I considered myself to be in great shape! I have trained with numerous trainers and rob is one of the best! While the classes are technically "group" fitness, they feel very intimate at 6 person max and always customized to your own strength. He pushes you to work your hardest and even after only a couple weeks I already feel the difference it has made. The accountability is great, and the coaching received is exactly what is needed. This gym is amazing. I've tried crossfit, working with a trainer one on one and boot camps. But nothing compares to training at the alpha project. It's exactly like you're a division one athlete. I've done one on one personal training and Crossfit. This is by far the best training and results. The workouts are extremely hard but safe. Rob takes his time with new people to make sure they understand the workout and increase weight and difficulty slowly. He tracks your results and you'll see and feel the difference.
