The majority of all the old members of the Sports Club/LA left due to the different crowds of people Equinox has brought in. We called it the 24 hour fitness crowd. It's quite true. A lot of things has certainly changed drastically after it became what it is today. I would say 50/50% of things happening here are good and bad. Behind the closed doors things are not always what they seem for a 5 star upscale gym. A lot of members including myself had have our personal belongings stolen from us from time to time. I've personally had a issue recently that resulted in someone stealing by $200 cycling bib shorts after I went to take a shower after a extremely exhausting spin class. That's pretty disgusting on who ever stole a pair of stinky worn shorts belonging to someone else. Others have their underwear stolen directly from their lockers while they simply walked away to get something. It's creepy. We never had this problem when the Sport Club/LA was around. Seem like all of the bad things that has happened to this beautiful gym is by members who were previously members of 24 hour fitness. Other than the negative things, Equinox is ALWAYS a nice gym to go to when you're looking for the most exclusive upscale gym other companies don't have. One thing that makes me laugh every time I walked through the front door is the valet service that offers easy parking for lazy people.

Well, we have officially been baptized into the club volleyball scene and therefore have become…read morevery familiar with Momentous. We've been here multiple times for tournaments, as most of them seem to be played here. Besides the long drive, the facility is pretty cool. Unfortunately, the parking is limited so most people typically have to pay to park ($20, no cash) at a neighboring facility (usually Rivian) in the industrial center and walk to the Sports Center. Then you pay an additional fee for anyone over 10 years to enter ($10, I believe) and get a wristband so you can exit/re-enter freely. There are somewhere around 40 courts, I believe, and they are all separated by nets. There are aisles carved out for foot traffic to navigate through all the courts but that also means, well, there's a lot of foot traffic. Plus, as you are walking, you must dodge incoming stray volleyballs, and an infinite amount of cameras mounted on tripods by parents who are trying to capture their future professional volleyball superstars' best highlights. I will note that it always seems to be hot inside. I wish they could figure out the climate control. Plus it's soooooo constantly loud inside. You might want to bring ear plugs. I will also note that they offer a food cafe with plenty of good, and healthy, options. I feel like this is the best part of the facility. It's great when you are spending your entire day there and need snacks or meals for your family, or your athlete, in between your games. The enclosed seating area is always full so I prefer to take the food outside on the grass area and eat there. Plus kids can play catch or practice rallying out there while you eat. If you are adventurous, some folks even walk to nearby food options, including Starbucks. This place is kinda cool, I just wish they had one closer to home.

It's jampacked in there. $20 for parking and if you have a car bigger than a shoebox, don't park in here. The food is subpar. But again. It's HOT i'm gonna make a suggestion to ALL the club teams to move out of this place. It seems they're only in it for the money and they don't care about the players or the parents. Because you have girls freezing in the winter and dying of heat in the summer, not a good look.

I've been going to 3D Fitness 4-5x/week for the past three years -- including all the way through…read moremy first pregnancy -- and it's easily one of the best decisions I've made. The workouts are strong, but that's not the differentiator. The community is. You see the same people consistently, and over time it becomes a tight, supportive group. It's rare to find a gym where you actually look forward to who's going to be there, not just what's programmed. Programming is thoughtful and well-balanced -- strength + high-intensity cardio -- and it never gets stale. Chris (owner/instructor) is especially good at reading people and pushing you just past where you think your limit is. You end up doing more than you expected, regularly. There's also real connection beyond the floor. They organize occasional events -- I recently did a cooking class with ~20 women from the gym -- and it adds another layer to the experience. I've always been active, but this is the first time in 20+ years I've been this consistent. That's not accidental -- it's because of the environment. If you want a place that will push you, keep you accountable, and make you want to show up, this is it.

And so satisfying to see my progress over time, helps me feel good knowing I'm doing something really important for my health. Did a Mud Run in Irvine last weekend with my 26 year old daughter who got tired before I did. Highly highly recommend this gym to anyone who wants to get healthier and aims to stay that way.

We decided to try out NJB (Huntington Beach chapter) based on some recommendations from friends…read more Note: most of them tried it summer/winter season when I guess there's more participants and more volunteer help. However, the spring season for the Rookie division (K-1, 5-7 year olds) was super disorganized from the start and it hasn't gotten better after numerous parents bringing up concerns throughout the season with Coach Dennis who happens to be the founder of NJB too. This has been the worst sports league we have ever joined! 1) They shouldn't have 5-7 year olds play together and if they do, they should divide the teams equally by skill level but that wasn't the case. One team had much taller, more experienced players that would often dominate during scrimmages. Some of the younger ones would get upset, feeling discouraged which isn't a good start when introducing a sport. 2) The league should provide more coaching for basics and fundamentals as it was the first time for some of the kids playing. That being said, all practices are run by parents who volunteer to coach including some who reluctantly did so. Sadly, they are not given any instruction on drills so it's up to them how they want to structure practices. This happened the first time where the paid coaches just watched the volunteer coaches figure out how to coach the kids without giving them any guidance. After complaints, Dennis told us from week 2 week, we would have someone professionally give our kids instruction the first 30 minutes, then scrimmage the last 30 minutes but sadly that only seemed to happen 3x. The paid referees were supposed to come for all the scrimmages/games, but didn't. We had parent volunteers step in with some of the weekend scrimmages/games and referee too when no professional from the league showed up. This was so unprofessional. 3) Game times were sometimes changed 1-3 days prior to the actual game or from a Sunday to Saturday. One weekend we weren't suppose to have a game, then we were emailed that same week that we would have one. 4) Not all updated games have been emailed out. So some parents downloaded the NJB app (which only some knew about) and said that was more updated on there, but that still didnt show all the upcoming games. 5) Rookie division plays with 8 feet (vs 10 feet hoop). We found out in order to have practice with 8 feet hoops, we have to pay additional rental fees to practice at local schools that have them. When asked if we get a partial/refund, Dennis flat out said "no" because everything was done as promised, which wasn't. I'll be sharing my experience with other families and mom groups that I'm a part of.

From the outside it looks massive, and inside there are a bunch of trophies and pictures on the walls, which was cool to look at while we waited. The online waiver was easy and didn't take long at all. We had two courts next to each other and it didn't feel cramped, even as beginners. I liked that it still felt like we had our own space. But... there are definitely some things that could be better. There's a weird smell when you first walk in. You kind of get used to it after a while, but it's noticeable. The price was also kind of crazy , $42 for six people for one hour feels steep for what you're getting. The building feels a little outdated overall, and the restroom was honestly not great. The brown soap coming out of the dispenser was not it. Also, the lady at the front desk wasn't very friendly and rushed us off right when our time was up, even though there were empty courts. For what they charge, a little better customer service would make a big difference. We still had fun playing, but between the smell, price, and service, I'd say it's a solid 3 stars.
