Delicious. Friendly. Proactive serving without overwhelming attention. This would be my weekly hangout for a meal if I lived here. Nice and cosy atmosphere. Thai cafe is part of the total of three Thai cafes in the area, with a fourth coming up in waterloo.
I ordered sen tiao for starting appetizer and pad thai for main course. As a beverage I took the house lemonade with bubbles (sparkling). I finished my meal with a coffee. We ordered shrimp chips as well.
The house lemonade was comparitive to Arnold Palmer and was so good I ordered a second one. The light carbonation was a delightful addition. The sen tiao arrived as three small bite sized dumplings, one chicken one pork one fish. Two of them tasted a little fishy, perhaps being next to each other transfered some flavour. The other was strong chicken flavour. Yum. Next up the pad thai (sweet/sugar version as opposed to salty) flavour blasted the buds in my mouth, with extremely tasting chicken in the sweet sauce. A small bowl of sweet flavour sauce added to dish+++. Coffee was good, a helpful energy boost. Toward the end we decided on shrimp chips, equivalent to styrofoam cakes you find in the US. I'm not a fan of overly fishy tasting foods, but only a hint of flavour was present.
Loved my experience here would go back again without a question. read more
