I received a floral arrangement for Mother's Day 2011 delivered by Kevin's Petal Cart Florist. The…read morearrangement was ordered by one of my children who lives out of state and placed the order with a national floral service. I can say with certainty that my daughter would not have picked out the arrangement that was delivered nor would I. When you order by phone or online you need to be able to trust that what will delivered is going to be top quality. The arrangement delivered to me included a dozen or so large cream colored roses, stargazer lilies, greens and some small innocuous aster type flowers. Had Kevin's Petal cart filled the order with FRESH UNBRUISED flowers all would have been well. Instead what was delivered included bruised lilies with brown edges, roses with a less than fresh appearance. This was not an inexpensive arrangement and as such I wanted to give Kevin's a chance to remedy the situation. I first emailed Kevin's to notify them of the problem along with photos of the arrangement. I waited a week for a reply but got none. Next I called Kevin's Petal Cart Florist to let them know what they delivered was not acceptable. I was told that when a florist fills an order from an outside source that they only receive part of the total- like that justified delivering bruised flowers. The man I spoke to told me he would look for the email I sent and call me right back. He never called back, subsequent messages left by me on his answering machine also went unanswered. My daughter will not be using Kevin's Petal Cart Florist again. I will never use them between poor quality flowers and terrible customer service I've seen enough. I wish I could post an accompanying photo as seeing is believing.

We are extremely disappointed with our experience with Fancy Flowers by Meredith…read more After delivering the flowers for our daughter's wedding, someone from the company returned to the venue at approximately 1:30 AM and removed the floral arrangements and glassware that we had purchased. When we contacted them, they denied taking anything and even suggested we "check the venue dumpster." Thankfully, the wedding coordinator reviewed the security footage, which clearly showed the flowers and items being removed. While some of the nearly $9,000 worth of flowers and glassware were eventually returned, a significant portion was never recovered. Most upsetting of all, our daughter lost the opportunity to preserve any of her wedding flowers because they were taken without permission after the event. We hope wedding venues seriously reconsider recommending this vendor to future couples.

When a customer asks you for something and it will only take 1 minute or less of your time, you should accommodate them. Especially when they are purchasing something "site unseen". 20 orders a day is 20 minutes or less a day to provide this service to your customers. Very disappointed. Remember it is your customer's who keep you in business. Also, if the customer is unhappy with the order, you will have evidence the flowers were fresh and delivered as ordered.

I should have listened to my intuition... Robin, the owner, reeked of cigarettes and was totally distracted and rather abrasive during our consultation. I figured that her personality didn't really matter if she could put together all my flowers nicely. She told me that Jennifer from the Chatham store would get her notes and put together a proposal for me in 7-10 days. On day 10 I emailed Jennifer, and left voicemail messages with both Robin and Jennifer requesting an update. Jennifer gets back to me the next day and says she hasn't received the notes from Robin and therefore hasn't started the proposal. 3 days later she tells me she still hasn't gotten the notes but would be happy to "start fresh" with me over the phone. I told her no thanks and I'll take my business elsewhere. So now I'm 2 weeks behind in getting a florist booked and need to "start fresh' with a search for a florist who will value my business. Maybe the Chatham store is ok but that Robin at Perfect Package in Worcester is a disorganized, direspectful, uncommunicative waste of time for brides!

The staff are very knowledgeable. We participated in two classes, learning a lot and getting answers to several perplexing garden issues. Their expert gardeners were very friendly and eagerly shared their knowledge with us. We learned that many landscapers, including Chatham Bars, source their plants from Beacon Gardens. The prices are very reasonable and are in line with other centers. Given the outstanding quality of the plants Beacon offers, this is a great value!

I went to the counter to ask to buy it even though I knew it was not an item of their inventory. I was asked to show the salesperson where I found it, and as I showed her she said, "oh just take it, it's not worth anything and we have plenty of them, just take it!" But the internet told me I needed compost, so I was determined to get compost. Unfortunately, the internet is very vague about how one gets compost, unless you're making your own. Then the internet is happy to give you all sorts of advice. Thus I found myself googling, "where to get compost on cape cod." Brewster Sand & Gravel was the first choice. Once I got on B&G's website, I got a better idea of what I was looking for. Plus they have nifty yardage calculators so you can figure out exactly how much of whatever you need. I compared them to other sites and the prices looked reasonable, so I made up a little list of questions and prepared to make first compost contact. There is a physical building somewhere, but they're in Eastham (why does it say Brewster? Why???) so I just called. I left a message and got a call back within the hour. The girl on the phone (Amber maybe?) was SO awesomely nice. She made me feel comfortable, she answered all my questions, she was upfront. Honestly, after one phone conversation I knew I was going to buy from them, based on customer service alone. I ended up ordering some obscene amount of compost for delivery (I was splitting with a friend. Delivery fee was $40). Nice phone woman and I figured out the date and time that best worked for me and sure enough, that Saturday an adorable little construction truck came lumbering up the Harwich Community Garden path, loaded with a pile of beautiful dark screened leaf 'post. (can I call it 'post? does that make me sound cool?) The delivery guy was awesome too. He was so friendly, especially considering I had reached my neurotic threshold and was basically staring wide-eyed and shrugging when he asked where to dump it. He even split the load so half of it got dumped near my garden plot, then the rest was dumped near my friend's plot! I offered him a tip and he turned it down, saying, "You use that money to buy yourself some nice plants." Omg. Like I said, the compost they sent is rich and dark and beautiful. It spread wonderfully and my plants are loving it. I've already recommended B&G to several people at the Community Garden... bcs they saw my compost and asked about it!
