From the moment I contacted her to the day before the wedding, she was always available, reassuring, and well-organized. As a bride I felt super stressed, but Miriam never let me feel like I was alone in any of it. It was important to me that both of our families' backgrounds were represented, and they delivered beyond what I could have ever hoped for. She suggested that I create a Spotify playlist to give her an idea of the kind of music we wanted. We had all sorts of requests that any other band might have refused because they weren't part of their typical repertoire. We wanted Jewish music for the chair dance, French music for my husband's side, "La Murga de Panamá," and, of course, SALSA. Not only did Miriam agree to all of them, but she also happily suggested some ideas of her own, like singing "La Vie en Rose" in French for our last dance! The band performed all of the music beautifully. They arrived early and tested the audio in the venue's small outdoor space, and everyone was impressed by their setup. Miriam took on multiple roles, acting as the wedding emcee, singer, and DJ. They also made sure to film some of the performances and dancing without ever feeling intrusive. It's obvious that she and her family work hard to make sure these events run smoothly without sacrificing any of the fun. Our venue insisted that a live band wouldn't work... until Miriam came along and proved everyone wrong. She and her team are experienced professionals who made our lives a lot easier and our wedding a lot more fun. One of my favorite parts of the night was seeing people dance who we never expected to see on the dance floor, like our moms dancing together and guests we had never seen dance before, even an older gentleman who had more energy than anyone else during the dance contest. The band brought out a side of our guests that made the celebration so special. A year later, and guests still talk about the music. Cliff has an easy to use (though dated) website where you can choose your processional, recessional, first dance song, mother/song dance song, etc. There are lots of examples that you can listen to right on the site, or you can type in your own favourite. We met with Cliff a week or so before the wedding to review the songs we'd selected, and he noted the names of our bridal party members, who would be giving speeches, etc. Everything ran perfectly smoothly at the reception. As well, we chose only 1 or 2 songs for the dancing - just let him know we liked 80s and 90s and wanted lots of upbeat music. The music for the dancing was absolutely perfect. If we had come up with our own playlist for the whole night, it wouldn't have been as awesome as what Cliff pulled together. The dance floor was packed the whole night - the majority of our guests were up dancing and singing. I've never seen such a high percentage of guests dancing before, and it was so much fun. Post-wedding, I've had numerous guests tell me they loved the DJ and our music. Several thought we had picked all the songs on our own. Cliff has obviously learned over the years which songs created excitement and get people up on their feet, and his experience and knowledge created an incredibly fun reception for us on our special day.

In addition to being thorough and helpful prior to the wedding, Ben is excellent at keeping the day moving and feeling the vibe of the group for the proper tunes at the proper times. Ben has a lot of experience with our late-20s, early-30s age group, so he had a lot of good music that appealed to the group. Ben's experience with arranging wedding music and generally MCing receptions was very helpful as he made suggestions for timing and order of events that made total sense for our wedding. Our favorite thing about Ben was that we felt very comfortable handing our event over to him in terms of MCing. He knew what to do, when to do it, and was very respectful when approaching the bride or me in asking for directions. Everything was smooth thanks to his event management. Ben is the perfect MC to know when to speak more and when to remain in the background. He is very respectful with the microphone. One last note: always let Ben lead a dance or two!
